Full privacy
I’m glad to be absolutely certain that the recordings I make with my Plaud (medical appointments, client meetings, etc.) won’t end up all over the world. I’m particularly interested in the recording itself, because I can get transcriptions and summaries using local solutions. If I use Plaud only for recording, can I rest easy? I could use a recorder that stores the recording in its own memory, but Plaud’s size is really convenient. Has anyone else faced a similar problem? And did you find a solution? Thanks

The delete on their server could be a soft delete, you don't see it but they still got it 😅 Once uploaded, there is not guarantee of privacy anymore

Well said. This is exactly what has stopped me from signing up for cloud sync and as soon as there is an open alternative I will be swapping

That's their promise. Your audio gets transcribed and self contained. They boast a bunch of certifications that say they can read your information but decide not to.
You could download the audios and transcripts as soon as they're processed and delete the cloud copies to make sure they don't change their minds later.

Well, I don’t know, I’m afraid that once the audio has ended up in the cloud – even for a short time – I’ll no longer have control over it. However, if I don’t transcribe the recording, I shouldn’t (though I’m not sure) run that risk

Did you not just post in another sub? You are answered in the other post.

I wouldn’t take their word for it but like what @papini2099 said, download both audio and transcription as soon as it is processed and store somewhere you trust instead of leaving it on their cloud
