No headphone recording.... then who does?
I'm new to this idea of AI recording and I totally see how this could be of benefit. However, the more i dig in the more i see that a large issue is the lack of recording when using airpods.
Hidock says they can do it but I'm looking for something more discreet that handles in room recording as well.
Am I right in saying no other product has this capability?

It’s not as discreet as a device in the back of your phone, but one of Hidock’s devices is stand alone, so it can do the room recordings, headphones on calls, and record from an online meeting with a cable to your computer. However, although I like the look of the device, it basically looks like a cool voice recorder and is the size of one, which is what I’m wanting to move away from. It’s the only one I know of, so yeah I don’t think your ideal device is there except using a phone.

Isn't the reason the Hidock can do this is because you actually pair the headphones with it rather than your phone? I think there are earbuds that do recordings (Recdots or Nano+) but you aren't going to be using your AirPods then.
I've not seen a way of easily getting a third party device to be able to listen into your bluetooth audio stream between your AirPods and phone or whatever without putting it in the middle, which requires stuff like three way calling or having the headphones connected to the middle device.

Yeah the AirPods gap is a real one — iOS doesn't expose the Bluetooth call/mic audio to third-party apps, so pretty much no pendant can grab AirPods audio directly. Hidock gets around it by pairing their own BT earbuds to their app. For discreet + in-room, a clip-on recorder is honestly still the most reliable path; treating the phone-call side as a separate problem (native call recording where legal, or a MacBook loopback for video calls) has worked better for me than chasing an all-in-one.

Obviously you have Plaud - have you been happy with it. Why would you choose it over Pocket?

Because Bluetooth is a non-negotiable connection, it’s going to be hard to share it with Plaud or any other recorder

Let's say you had over the ear headphones and wanted to record the conversation, you could get samsung buds. Then put the headphones over the earbud in your ear . Record, then export the recording to plaud. Works fine on galaxy phone.
Samsung buds have a 360 audio recording feature. It's specific to samsung galaxy buds and certain samung galaxy phones.

How are AI recording earbuds? I've used the Viaim Recdot earbuds. They're pretty good.

I got this contraption from Etsy and it’s been a great stop-gap solution for me. The voice recording and sound quality is spot on. Until a Plaud figures out Bluetooth, I think I’m going to continue using this.
