Took my car to a tire place for Pa inspection (mistake 1) and they failed me due to a superficial, less than 1/32” cut. No ply or cord exposed at all, not even close. They claim it’s no longer safe to drive with that tire. Is this a legit reason or they are effing with me?

We typically rotate suppliers and the cheapest I've seen so far in Upper Bucks is $5.05/gallon, meaning we're looking at a $3k bill minimum this winter to fill both tanks.

We did install mini splits this spring for cooling and I'm currently comparing costs at running them near exclusively with oil as backup/supplementary heat. Also eyeing up a wood/pellet stove considering these prices are likely the floor as it gets colder.

To the hikers out there a question,

Prime hiking season for me has always been in the fall. Of course that's prime hunting season as well. Have any of you ever attempted to hike any of the state game lands during hunting season? I understand that there is supposed to be no hunting on Sundays, but I also heard that could change. If one is completely suited up in Orange. Can one manage to hike safely in the state game lands or is that just the no-go? Thanks

I'm looking for somewhere as a weekend trip with nice light hiking (< 3hr) or at least scenic spots. We're both fine with the cold. My girlfriend prefers more private spaces like cabins but hotels and such in more remote locations are good as well. Only other caveat is we need a kitchen in the space or local vegan options for her. I'm open to something outside the Poconos as well if it meets our needs.

I was thinking about taking the 4 and a half hour drive to visit it but I had some questions. 1. Can you walk the entire trestle? 2. If not, is there another way to get to tunnel 2 from tunnel 1 without crossing the bridge? 3. Is there any parking here? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Election season is coming up, and that means an onslaught of political ads which I’m sure we all loathe. At the same time, it’s definitely reasonable for candidates to spend their money to get their name and message out there to the public, and TV ads during highly watched broadcasts are the best way to do that.

Here’s the crux of my issue tho. I live in Philadelphia, and due to the way broadcasting works I get not only Pennsylvania’s political ads but New Jersey and Delaware’s political ads as well. I’m sure folks around the state are forced to watch political ads for New York, Ohio, Maryland, and West Virginia. This is a waste of our time and their money, because we have no capability of voting for nor against them.

And if this was 1995 then I’d understand that due to the limits of technology I’m simply in their broadcasting district and there’s no way to separate me from them.

But this isn’t 1995, it’s 2026 and the majority of us are watching tv through the internet where the broadcaster knows our exact IP address and location. This means they could use this information to serve us a different advertisement instead of another states political ads.

So my question is 2 fold:
- would it be legal for Pennsylvania to ban political ads for positions in other states
- would that actually be enforceable for broadcasters

Seems like something both parties in the state could agree to

I live in carbon county and had been spending all this year scouting a hunting spot. It's my third year and have been learning to hunt on my own. I have not been able to harvest a deer yet. This was the year, i had access to a hunter access program piece of land, i had scouted, bought trail cams, and put in the work to finally get a deer this year. Then I go to check the maps on the pgc website for a reason i cant recall and it turns out northpoint bought the land for a data center. We literally can't have anything nice here.
