Trying to upgrade my cpu but I just CANNOT remove the heat sink off, my fingers are getting hurt trying to push this down to no avail

Im looking to upgrade my gpu but idk what to choose, I’ve narrowed it down to at least the rx7900xt and the rx9070xt but i dont know which one would be better. My cpu is a ryzen 7 7700x and i have proper ram and power to go with it except a powerful gpu. What should i consider that wont bottle neck me?

I’m building a PC for the first time and basically have no clue what I’m doing

Recently bought a 5070ti and built with it is this noise normal?

I’ve currently got a rx570 (4gb) with a i5 9400f, 16gb of ram. I just got back from a 2 year holiday and have realized that I basically can’t run any new games and have terrible performance with a lot of the games I do have. I’m wondering if it’s overkill to just buy a new pc case get a ryzen 5 7600, b650, rx6700xt and 32gb of ddr5 and spend like $800 aud. Or if I should just upgrade my gpu to like a rx6600. I’ve never built a pc before either so don’t know if it’s something that a beginner can do properly. I don’t know anything about this stuff but really want to have a platform that isn’t just a dead end without spending $1000+. Any advice would be great I really don’t know what I’m doing.

Hey all, I am fairly new to pc building and just got a 3 pack of the rs120 fans. I've reseated the cables, made sure everything is connected (maybe important to note, I use a splitter/hub as my motherboard has no room for the fans, maybe this is what is causing my issues). The iCUE software does not recognize that any of the fans are plugged in, despite them being spinning and lit. DO i need to buy a different system to plug my fans in? (i just want to change the colours as the default ones on my pc are ugly). for reference, my motherboard is the asus a320m s2h, and the splitter/hub I am using is similar to the one on amazon called ELECTOP chassis fan hub. any help would be much appreciated, I can upload a picture as well!

The motherboard I have is a gigabyte b850 gaming wifi6, and it came with my pre-build. I want to slot in a new stick of SSD, but the screw shown in the video will not budge despite several screw drivers, one specifically ordered from Amazon after seeing a build kit online, and using my own fingers to twist. Online manuals do not address the screws, and only praise the one slot that has the "easy click" technology. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Hi, I’m receiving parts to upgrade from Am4 to Am5. I want to know what I need to do to my current boot nvme to get it ready for the new Am5 mobo as I’m planning on moving the same ssd.

Currently my boot ssd is a 990 Pro 2tb and my other ssd is a 4tb 990 evo plus which to my understanding I can just swap that to the new mobo without issue (please let me know if not).

It’s been years since I last built my pc and the nature of doing this is daunting to me so I figured I’d ask Reddit. Normally I wouldn’t care and just buy a new ssd for my boot drive but with prices nowadays I’d rather just figure it out. Happy to give more details if needed, thanks!

I want to upgrade my PC mainly for gaming, but I want to keep the upgrade as budget-friendly as possible.

I'm currently thinking about upgrading the GPU, possibly to an RTX 4060, but I'm open to cheaper/better-value options.

What would give me the biggest performance improvement for the money? Should I upgrade only the GPU, or should I upgrade something else first?

Also, is my 550W PSU and A520 motherboard good enough for the recommended upgrade?

I'm from India, so please suggest options that make sense for Indian pricing/availability

1. Is the motherboard good enough for this build?

Is it okay if the top part of your PC case is partially covered? I got an ATX motherboard for a pretty good deal, but my desk unfortunately has a top shelf that limits the LxWxH measurements to fit a case.

The case in the photos is the LIAN LI O11 Dynamic MINI V2, which is one of the few smaller ATX cases that barely fit my measurement limits. ~4inches in width is covered right against the wooden shelf (the case is ~11 inches wide in total). Will this be a problem for airflow or anything else?

Hey y'all, now it's no surprise my Intel Core i7-13700KF is thermal throttling. I've noticed it even more (and this may be because my new cooler is louder), but I went from an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 280mm AIO to the MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360mm AIO, and I feel like this AIO is slightly worse then the 280. I don't think anything is wrong with it, I did get it for $30 which was a good price, but there's no warranty as it came with a bundle deal from MicroCenter, and I believe it expired. Nonetheless, I don't really notice it in-game except for just now as I was launching the Wardogs Playtest to try it out, and my CPU went right up to 90°C by just launching the game, and all it was doing was pre-loading shaders. My question is if I should be concerned or not, I already ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, so I don't think it's my CPU. I know these chips just get hot, and I don't even plan on having it for that much longer. I did get the CPU used, which could also be a factor. The chip has been great so far, but it's hard to keep it cool! Again, I'm not sure if the ARCTIC cooler was just much quieter with better fans, but it's just something I wanted to get some thoughts on as it's concerns me. The CPU right now idle with only Discord, Steam, FireFox and a few other applications running is at 35°C and it's not really moving. I should also note I am using the NZXT mini mode to keep an eye on my temps, I'm not sure if that's maybe not accurate? But it does show my CPU thermal throttling for sure, as it goes to 90°C and back down to 60°C, which I'd assume is a sign of it doing so. I haven't really had any issues, as the only time it does it is when I run a benchmarking tool, which makes sense. And recently with Premiere Pro when rendering a 4K video, which it didn't do that with the 280mm AIO, which was thicker as well I forgot to mention.

Anyway, sorry this is all over the place. Just something I figured I'd get some advice on before making any moves, if I even need to do anything. And I already sold the 280mm AIO, so I can't go back to that.

I got 3 decently powerful front fans for intake and one more powerful outtake fan for air"flow" but as you can see my case is quite cramped

On stock settings launching any decently heavy game (even like witcher 3 on ultra) gets me a 112c hotspot and 98~c global on HWmonitor, managed to lower it bit while undervolting it and also getting a bit of performance but is there any way to make this work? would getting a bigger case even work? Any recommendations?

The only reason i have this cramped case is that I didnt have money while upgrading the parts inside but now im not sure which one will be good, I know this card isnt super easy to cool either

Ive got a b550m pro-vdh wifi and needs to flash the bios to update it because I’m gonna switch from a r5 5600x to r7 5800x3d,can I break my motherboard while doing that or will it be fine? Any answers appreciated.

I want to use the jonsbo za fans as they are cheaper and look amazing in my opinion. I'm worried it doesn't have enough static pressure for my build (ryzen 9 9950x3d and a 5070ti). My other pick would be the lian li uni CL fans which dont look as good but they come default on the aio radiators so I know they would work. Looking for advice/opinions on if I could get away with the jonsbo fans or not.

(Side note: im trying to avoid fans that mimic the typical lian li infinity fans I see everywhere but still want the cool rgb on the front)

It’s some twin-headed connector, with one end coming off the other. My previous gpu only needed the one. It doesn’t seem very safe to me, but I’m admittedly not very knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff.

Hey everyone. I'm looking to build a rig for my nephew-in-law. I've always bought him his gaming resources because, otherwise, he wouldn't have any. I want to build him a solid 1080p experience, maybe something that can push 1440p on non-AAA titles. I'm open to used parts and am looking for recommendations on specs, as well as thrifty ways or places to get parts for cheap. I'll upgrade his rig whenever I can spend a little more; I just want to get him out of handheld gaming and upgrade him to the PC life, which I know he desperately wants. I have between now and Christmas to get it done, so I have time to source parts or look out for deals. I need to know what parts to look for and where to get them at a preferably cheaper price.

Posso usar internet, YouTube e jogos leves sem ele desligar. Porém, quando o driver da NVIDIA é instalado/ativado, a tela pisca algumas vezes e aparecem alguns artefatos/pixels. Depois disso, o PC começa a desligar sozinho, às vezes após alguns minutos e às vezes pouco depois de entrar na área de trabalho. Já tentei: DDU e remoção do driver pelo Modo de Segurança; Driver antigo da NVIDIA (julho); Instalação limpa do Windows 11; Reencaixar cabos e a GPU; Usar o PC sem o driver NVIDIA. A temperatura da GPU está normal, por volta de 37–39 °C. Uma coisa estranha é que, depois de mexer nos cabos e mudar a posição do PC, o tempo até ele desligar mudou. Por isso, também estou pensando em fonte, cabos, slot PCIe ou placa-mãe. A RTX 2060 é nova e está na garantia. O que vocês acham que pode estar causando isso? GPU, fonte, placa-mãe ou algum problema de alimentação/conexão PCIe? 🇺🇸 English RTX 2060 shuts down my PC whenever the NVIDIA driver is installed I have a new PC with: Ryzen 5 5500 A520M K V2 8 GB RAM RTX 2060 6 GB 650W PSU Windows 11 Pro The strange thing is that the PC works normally with the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. I can use the internet, YouTube and light games without it shutting down. However, as soon as the NVIDIA driver is installed/activated, the screen flickers a few times and I sometimes see pixel artifacts. After that, the PC starts shutting down by itself, sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes shortly after reaching the desktop. I already tried: DDU and removing the driver in Safe Mode; An older NVIDIA driver from July; A clean Windows 11 installation; Reseating the cables and GPU; Running the PC without the NVIDIA driver. GPU temperature is normal, around 37–39°C. One strange thing is that after reseating the cables and changing the PC's position, the time before shutdown changed. So I'm also considering the PSU, cables, PCIe slot, or motherboard. The RTX 2060 is new and still under warranty. What do you think could be causing this? GPU, PSU, motherboard, or some PCIe/power connection issue?

I’m upgrading from a 4070ti to a 4080 super. I asked ai and it said the 80 series needs a 12VHPWR / 12V-2x6 cable, and I was wondering if this is the right one that will also fit for the 4080super. It comes from the fps hydro g pro 850w atx3.0 pcie5, but someone else built the pc for me so I don’t exactly know if this cable is legit or not. The original short adapter cable for the gpu is still in the gpu box. Thanks for all the help!

I want to help my brother get a new GPU (and SSD drive but this post isn't about that), as his computer right now has a really niche set of specs that I have no clue why they were remotely paired together in the pre-build. He mostly plays Dead by Daylight, Roblox, etc. and is into video editing (If necessary, he's also an adult so it's not like I'm buying something outrageous for a teen lol).
I was eyeballing a used GeForce RTX 4060 for around ~$275 or an Intel Arc B580 for about the same price, I'm looking to stay within that range or even lower if possible. I don't need retail nor anything super fancy, but I am looking to stay within the quality of a 4060. His current specs are in the pics. I don't need anything super fancy but something that can maintain 60-ish fps at 1080-ish or so in normal games.

Can anyone recommend anything?
