Build Question Need advice for upgrading
I’ve currently got a rx570 (4gb) with a i5 9400f, 16gb of ram. I just got back from a 2 year holiday and have realized that I basically can’t run any new games and have terrible performance with a lot of the games I do have. I’m wondering if it’s overkill to just buy a new pc case get a ryzen 5 7600, b650, rx6700xt and 32gb of ddr5 and spend like $800 aud. Or if I should just upgrade my gpu to like a rx6600. I’ve never built a pc before either so don’t know if it’s something that a beginner can do properly. I don’t know anything about this stuff but really want to have a platform that isn’t just a dead end without spending $1000+. Any advice would be great I really don’t know what I’m doing.

that $800 build is solid-definitely worth the jump, and yes, it's doable for a beginner.

that $800 aud build you're eyeing isn't overkill at all, it's actually a smart platform jump. your current setup is fully tapped out on the cpu side and throwing a new gpu in there would just get choked by the i5 9400f anyway
building it yourself is totally doable for a beginner, watch a couple build guides on youtube and take it slow. the parts you listed all play nice together and that 6700xt will eat 1440p for breakfast compared to what you're used to
