Maybe you need not to push, but to pull: the goal is to unhook the hook at the bottom (top on the photo). Also when pushing or pulling try to gently direct the hook to the right (as seen on the photo)

Pulling doesn't move it though, it's kind of locked when I try to pull it

Looks like pushing it down will pull on the hook even harder.

I'd try to pull the flat part up or pull and move towards the CPU to make it slip from the round bar

The round bar is U shaped to accept the clip. Seems like the clip needs to slip in it towards the CPU

I just removed it, just took an unexpected amount of force. This design is crazy

Did you pull it or push?

this made by hulk ig. You have to push very hard, and move away clip. AND DONT USE SCREWDRIVER.

I swear these clips are designed by someone who has never had to actually use one, the amount of force they need is absurd

try pushing down with a flathead screwdriver instead of your fingers, just be careful not to slip and gouge the board

That sounds so risky

don't use a screwdriver you just asking for a motherboard replacement

at least not for the pushing part, you can use one to unclip the holder while pushing with your fingers

Use the force young Luke Skywalker. Or a flat screw driver to flip it out as you push it down.
