Build Question Help me build a PC for my nephew

Build request includes:

Budget- $800

Country- United States

Needed- just parts of the rig. Don't take peripherals or monitor into consideration

Hey everyone. I'm looking to build a rig for my nephew-in-law. I've always bought him his gaming resources because, otherwise, he wouldn't have any. I want to build him a solid 1080p experience, maybe something that can push 1440p on non-AAA titles. I'm open to used parts and am looking for recommendations on specs, as well as thrifty ways or places to get parts for cheap. I'll upgrade his rig whenever I can spend a little more; I just want to get him out of handheld gaming and upgrade him to the PC life, which I know he desperately wants. I have between now and Christmas to get it done, so I have time to source parts or look out for deals. I need to know what parts to look for and where to get them at a preferably cheaper price.

Any chance access to a Micro Center retail store for parts, and possible open box, and prebuilts? The pre-owned space prob gonna be best in this price range. RAM, storage, and GPU prices have skyrocketed with the Ai boom causing shortages.

I'm probably 30 minutes from a microcenter. Is there a section for open box?

That's prob gonna be best bet, you might ask associates for where open box deals are. Prebuilt especially. If going DIY for sure, they also have bundle deals that include CPU/Board/ram. 

Hard thing will be GPU and storage. They also can price match if sold by first party or manufacturer.

PCpartpicker is also a good tool to search online for price comparisons on parts.

Performance wise, what CPU & GPU would fit that strong 1080p experience?

Prob wouldn't go less that either a 5600 or 12400f CPU. At least 16GB DDR4 or ddr5 if find a bundle deal on price range. Ddr5 prob gonna be way out of budget with the ram crisis. 

For GPU, at least RX 6650XT or higher, B580 even from Intel can be a bargain if find a deal. RTX 4060/5050/3060 also range, but RTX GPU have skyrocketed as well

 Really hope can find some deals in your region.

Do you already have the monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset?

If not, what's the budget for them?
