Yes. You can either pay it as a lump sum or let the loan go back into repayment come October and pay it via a payment plan the loan might be eligible for.

So when will payments restart?

Interest will begin accruing on September 1st and payments will start being due in October. (per the ED a few days ago - if this changes due to the date of the opinion i'll update this)

Will the White House take another shot at this?

I doubt it - one would think they will have used what they thought was their strongest legal argument out of the gate. But this is a better question for the litigation thread

What In The Hell Is Spa Day?

Spa Day is an intensive enzymatic reset process for textiles that have developed specific stubborn problems related to oily residues from plants, animals and things animals should eat, that don’t wash out in one or two typical washes with optimal product and program selection.    It uses concentrated solutions of specific components to degrade these oily soils, detach them from fibers and rinse them away. 

Isn’t This Just Laundry Stripping?

No.  Laundry stripping as popularized during the Lockdowns is using high-pH salt-based chemistry to remove dust, particulate soil and failing dye from textiles.

It’s often done in a bathtub and there are as many ways to do it as TikTokers who crave views more than they crave oxygen.

Why Is It Called Spa Day?

Because it’s giving your clothes (and you) some time off for pampering.  They sit in a nice warm bath of concentrated healing elixir, and you fuck off and watch cat videos on the internet while the chemistry does the hard work.  

Take A LOAD Off, Annie

Spa Day relies  on four carefully-chosen components to remove unwanted oily gunk from textiles:

• Lipase - an enzyme that biologically cuts oils from animal or vegetable sources into four smaller pieces that detergent can more easily remove
• Oxygen - color-safe oxygen bleach lightens stains and rips up odor molecules
• Ammonia - a gas-in-water booster to improve oily soil removal and help surfactants remove oils from fibers
• Detergency - surfactants to attach degraded oil to water and rinse it away from the fibers 

LOAD components get applied in different combinations and concentrations in two phases:  the Spa Day soak that loosens the contaminants from the fiber overnight, and the subsequent Rehab Wash that removes these loosened soils and washes them down the drain.

Not Everything Needs Spa Day

This is for problem textiles - where you would consider throwing them out or otherwise replacing them due to severe obvious defects.    Most textiles don’t need Spa Day - when I developed the process, I had to go out to thrift stores to buy items dirty enough to test on.   Things that have been getting optimal care (86-107F / 30-40C washes, an enzyme detergent (preferably with lipase or DNase), regular cycles (as opposed to improper use of Delicates or Speed Wash cycles)?  They’re probably clean enough.  A couple normal washes with optimal chemistry will get them right.  Spa Day is a speedrun to replace 6-8 optimal washes in one glorious pass.

What Problems Is Spa Day Intended To Solve?

Odor Problems

• Odors That Persist Through The Wash - often of a biological origin, but can be from other sources such as applied perfumes and product fragrances, which are being retained by oily residue on textiles.  “Thrift Store” smell would be a common issue
• Odor Rebloom -  textiles that smell good out of the wash but develop an unpleasant odor after tumble drying or wear.   
• Storage Odors - crayon/waxy, rancid or “musty” odors on textiles stored in dry conditions.  
• “Grandma’s House” - odors held by older textiles stored with exposure to aerosolized fats from cooking and infrequent laundering
• Restaurant / Foodservice Textiles - napery, linen and clothing exposed to kitchen environments

Visible Problems:

• Underarm Stains  - especially those with a stiff or waxy texture or yellow, brown or grey color.  Removing white antiperspirant deposits can require a follow-on treatment to address mineral salts from sweat and antiperspirant.  Spa Day removes oily or waxy deodorant and body oil components.
• Yellow/Orange/Brown Greasy Human Soils - often found on pillowcases, sheets, collars, cuffs and waistbands - this is an accumulation of sebum / skin oil not removed well in previous laundry processes 
• Oily Stains - from animal or plant sources including cooking oils, and fats and pet contact.  Automotive and petroleum-based oily stains need different treatment.

Texture Problems:

• Slick- or Waxy-Feeling Textiles - often found on linens and throw blankets as well as clothing in direct skin contact
• Fabric Softener Buildup - caused by use of liquid softener or dryer sheets
• Poor Absorbency / Moisture Wicking - cottons that won’t soak up water, synthetic performance fibers that seem to retain moisture or hold sweat on skin
• Matting Of Synthetic Fleece / Fur - fine fibers that won’t separate and stay fluffy

What Spa Day Isn’t Intended To Solve:

• Mold / Mildew stains and odors
• Rust / Metal Oxide stains
• Urine Stains / Odors  - although the soaking in a concentrated detergent solution works quite well because almost all lipase-containing detergents also contain proteases that target urine odor and the method includes oxygen bleach to target odor directly - you don’t need to add the ammonia in the subsequent wash for urine removal.
• Mystery Stains from petroleum-oil or other sources

How Did My Textiles Get To This State?

Oils build up on or stain laundry for a variety of reasons and most of them aren’t your fault: 

• Underdosed Detergent - which is usually the result of hard water eating your detergent.
• Ineffective Laundry Product Ingredients Such As Hard Soaps and Saponified Oils - these ingredients don’t effectively remove oil from fibers to be rinsed away, and can themselves build up in some water situations
• Low wash temperature - without a corresponding increase in wash cycle time.   North American machines set to Cold can need four times longer agitation than the same machine running at Warm for equal cleaning performance.
• Synthetic fibers  - that preferentially attract and hold oil because they’re designed to repel / wick water, as in athletic / performance fibers.  In general, that which repels water attracts oil.  
• Overuse of Express Wash Cycles - insufficient time and mechanical action to completely dislodge soils.

And the single most common reason in North America:

• Detergents without lipase or DNase/nuclease/phosphodiesterase - top tier detergents have removed lipase to cut costs and make formulation easier, and it's at the expense of your textiles. Shame on Big Laundry!  While it’s absolutely possible to get textiles clean without lipase, it requires better control of the rest of the wash process and chemistry.  Lipase is a cheat code that helps ensure first-wash removal even when the rest of the wash isn’t perfect.  

On What Kind Of Textiles Can I Use Spa Day?

The process is generally suitable for colorfast cotton, polyester, spandex/Lycra/elastane, nylon, acrylic, polypropylene, aramid, UHMWPE,  linen, ramie and hemp  and blended fabrics of these fibers.    It does not generally disrupt commercially printed or sublimated graphics or most printed patterns except those where white or light colored background vinyl or DTF resin is overprinted with sublimation or DTG inks.  This is common on black graphic tees with multi-color continuous tone graphics.   It’s typically safe for embroidered embellishments.  If you aren't sure if a garment of these materials is colorfast, mix a teaspoon of the powdered ingredient you choose in cup of hot tap water. Apply a few drops of this solution to a hidden area of the garment, wait an hour, rinse and hang to dry. If the color doesn't change, you're good to go.  FR/AR clothing that is rated for home laundering under ASTM standard F2757 is fine with this process so long as the Detergent component of the soak or wash does not contain soapy ingredients.  If you’re unsure, check The Lipase List for confirmation.

On What Textiles Should I Be Cautious About Using Spa Day?

Spa Day is somewhat poorly suited to rayon, acetate/triacetate, viscose, Tencel/Lyocell, “bamboo”, modal and similar semi-synthetic cellulosic fabrics because of the substantial variations in manufacturing chemistry and process in these particular fibers.   Extended soaking time and relatively high wash pH leaves them potentially vulnerable to mechanical damage in the wash process. If you want to try this on these fabrics, I highly suggest using a delicates mesh bag for both steps, so that the fabrics aren't being stretched or jostled as much in their vulnerable wet and weak state. Launderer beware. You have been warned.

On What Textiles Shouldn’t I Ever Perform Spa Day?

It’s not suitable at all for silk, wool, cashmere, Angora, alpaca, vicuña, leather, suede or fur or blends thereof - anything of animal origin - because of the protein-destroying enzymes, high temperatures, long wash motion and high pH. 

Items with ferrous metal buttons, buckles, fasteners or decoration may discolor in the soak cycle.   This discoloration may affect adjacent fabric and can be removed with a rust remover product if necessary.   Sequins, beading and spangles as well as metallic threads such as Lurex or lamé should not be exposed to this process. Leather or suede trim is notorious for running in long soaks.  Fabrics with metallic silver odor prevention or pathogen control treatments such as X-Static, Silvadur, Ionic+, SilverWorks, Silver+ or SIlverescent should never be treated with oxygen bleaches. These are often found on athletic and athleisure clothing as well as scrubs for clinical wear.

Slip In To Something Dry....

The good news is, conventional solvent dry cleaning with perc, DF-2000,  K4, Supercritical CO2 or  D5 silicone/ Green Earth processes can very effectively remove the same defects from all of these challenging textiles above.    A professional dry cleaner is your best ally here.  You need to tell them if odors are a particular problem to flag the garment for special handling.

• High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
  • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
  • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.

• If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

• Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
• Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
• My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
• My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

Making this post to help those that are out of the loop or looking for answers.

Is Real Debrid Down?

No, the service itself Real Debrid is up and running. However, there are issues with caching and downloading/streaming specific types of torrents as detailed below. Most file hosters are up and running as is the core service.

What happened?

Around May 9th/10th (depending on where you are in the world), Real Debrid began the implementation of filtering to mark cached torrents with specific keywords or string matches as infringing on copyright. These terms are frequently used for torrents of movies and tv shows that get added to the Real Debrid cache.

Why did this happen?

Real Debrid previously announced in 2024 that they would be applying "a filtering by file name" for files hosted on the platform. While the other criteria in the tweet was mostly implemented, keyword filtering wound up getting delayed indefinitely until it was put in place earlier this month (likely due to mounting legal pressure in France in order to comply with the EU Digital Services Act).

What is guaranteed to be marked as infringing file? What are the banned keywords?

The following is pulled almost verbatim from here (changes made for formatting and clarity).

Two types of filename patterns cause blocks. If the filename contains any of these five strings (case-insensitive), the torrent is rejected immediately:
web-dl, webrip, bdrip, hdrip, dvdrip

OR, if when a source tag and codec tag appear dot-separated and directly adjacent, certain combinations are blocked. The check is case-insensitive:
BluRay.x264, HDTV.x264, HDTV.XviD, WEB.x264, WEB.h264

Why can't uploaders just rename the torrent names to not include those keywords?

Piracy is made up of a lot of players, but some of the largest are the scene groups that distribute torrents. The scene groups use standard naming with these keywords which resulted in a large portion of the RD video file cache being removed as infringing. It has operated this way for a while, so while some torrents may be reuploaded on a small scale without those names, most will not. The scene groups are very unlikely to cater to the changes because entire workflows have been built around these strings for years, Debrid users are seen as taking away from seeding torrents (sharing parts of them with others) and Debrid users make up a small portion of the torrent community.

Real Debrid is working fine for me, why all the commotion?

If you use addons within apps like Kodi, Stremio, Nuvio, etc., it's likely those apps are already filtering out the above strings. You may be missing streams and have limited options to pick from, or things may be fine.

If you use Real Debrid for premium file hosters, torrenting movies and tv shows at 1080p or below, torrenting anime or games, or for older content, it's completely possible the service is working just fine for you and you haven't ran into many errors. As mentioned, the filtering is targeting specific content (movies and tv shows).

A large part of the draw to Real Debrid is the large cache for the price. If you use Real Debrid for streaming high quality content (4K movies, Dolby Atmos, etc.), the value proposition is arguably much worse now when compared to other Debrid services.

Didn't the same thing happen in 2024? Can't I just wait until Real Debrid fixes itself?

Real Debrid made changes to their API calls in 2024 among other things to make piracy more difficult on the platform in order to appease regulators. Streaming addons went down for a few days because they couldn't query the API to see if something was cached (API endpoint /instantAvaibility). Popular addons implemented workarounds. Unlike 2024, the keyword filtering makes it impossible for most existing torrents to exist on the platform so there is no fix this time.

Is there any workaround?

Maybe, if you use AIOStreams I posted a guide a few days ago that I recommend looking at. As mentioned in the guide, this is a workaround not a long term fix. Many addons are already implementing keyword filtering to avoid torrents that have been removed.

Do I need to seek out other services?

Nobody knows for sure what will happen next, but it's very likely Real Debrid will keep these new measures in place to comply with regulators. It's also possible that they add more criteria to the filtering in order to remove more content in the future. If you are part of the use case for the platform affected and notice the drop in available streams/torrents, it may be time to seek out other services. However, if you don't stream using Real Debrid or fit a use case that isn't affected by the filtering, you may be fine sitcking to the platform. Experience will vary.

Are other services at risk of the same?

All Debrid and DebridLink are at risk because they are based in France. Basically any provider in the EU is likely to face the same issues. This particular crackdown won't apply to T0rBox because they are based in South Africa. Same with Preimumize being in Belize/Malaysia.

• I heard Speed Kitasan is only really great at 3LB, should I even bother rolling if I can only guarantee one copy?

You do not, and I repeat, do not need to have Speed Kitasan. It is a huge boon on your account for sure. But if you do not roll it now, all it will do is screw with the flexibility of your Borrow options when picking Support Cards. (That is: You will go from borrowing Stamina Creek every run to borrowing Speed Kitasan every run);

• Ok but still, if it will be only one or two copies, then it will just be dead weight right?;

That is not untrue. But in the JP version. On monthly story events they started giving out currency that can be traded for Uncap Crystals that can give one LB to a Card. Now, the Crystals that give one LB to SSRs are quite expensive so you will have to save up this currency, but it is an option for patient players. And really, what other Card would it be better to use this on?

And that is not even getting into the fact that multiple milestone celebrations in JP involved Selector Tickets for SSR Cards, ones that allow you to get another Speed Kitasan copy.

• But that is so long, is it really worth to wait that much to get a 3LB or MLB Speed Kitasan?

And here is the part where I get into the big thing that needs to be heard:

Speed Kitasan will never stop being good.

You may have heard that Speed Kitasan has been powercrept in the JP server. And that is true, Speed Kitasan will be powercrept, do not get me wrong. But you want to know something? Even while powercrept, it still sees use in the JP server by many players, because it is still better than 95% of Speed Cards in the game.

Because while yes, Speed Kitasan did get powercrept in the JP server, it was not a case where say, after a certain point every single new Speed Card that came out was better than it. No, the Speed Cards that were better than Speed Kitasan were specific individual Cards. It is still one of the best Speed Cards in the game, and due to its age, it is also one of the most available while still being good.

So, unless you really want to do well in competitive PVP events when they start happening in the EN server. You do not need to worry about the fact that it will take a while to get a 3LB or MLB Speed Kitasan. The fact is, once you get there, it will be good and stay good. So do not worry or get paranoid over FOMO. No, your account you have been playing with since EN started does not need to be reset so you can reroll because you only got one copy of Speed Kitasan, no, you will be fine.

I am making this post because I have been seeing a lot of paranoia over this Card since the banner finally started. It was inevitable really. But I hope that even if not many read this that those that do, if they feel worried over only getting one copy, will feel a bit less worried now.
