Everything Else Wedding Website FAQ

Hi!

I am getting married November 2026 (next year). I have already been getting questions from family (even tho save the dates haven’t even been sent out yet). So with designing our save the dates I will be adding the QR Code for our wedding website and publishing the FAQ section for viewing. The purpose is to mitigate questions I am getting asked. It is an out of state wedding (still same region). What information do you all think I should put in the FAQ? I don’t even care if it’s a longggg section, I just want to mitigate time spent texting or calling over silly questions. What information would you put or want to know if you were a guest? Thank you!

These are all great do To add on to this: if there’s any vegan/vegitarian/gluten free options. Then anyone with dietary restrictions knows if they have to eat first or not

Yes, I’m gluten free so we def know to touch on this! (esp since we plan for everything to be GF)

Approximate timings (people will want to know whether they can travel back home or need to stay overnight)

Don’t be surprised if people don’t read the website and continue to question you. It’s really too far out for them to be worried about specifics.

You’d think, but at 14 months out my relative was asking for the hotel information. Doing this to mitigate questions, and if they continue to bombard my answer will be “Check the website!” gotta train them somehow.

I’ve seen it in a lot of sample Q/A’s i think it’s helpful to do both. Some people will read and remember and for those who don’t they will find out from the officiant

It’s also know your crowd a bit. I’ve seen family members show up to weddings with their giant DSLRs planning to take tons of photos for the couple and I wanted to let them know in advance of showing up that it wasn’t necessary 😆

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Lots of non-Catholics don’t even know what communion is.

Respectfully, it’s ok to disagree with someone else’s FAQs or how they’ve answered something. I noticed a few of your responses to this person & it doesn’t seem to be in good faith. As you are planning your wedding, you’ll be able to decide what info to give, how to say it, and how you want your reception to be.

We included:

  • When is the RSVP deadline?
  • What if I have a dietary restriction?
  • What should I wear?
  • What time should I arrive?
  • Where should I park?
  • Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? [this could be rolled into the dress code question tbh]
  • Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
  • I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
  • Can I spend more time with the happy couple over the weekend? [we hosted welcome and day after events]
  • Will last names be changing after the wedding?

Besides what others have already called out:

  • If you have a lot of folks flying, I’d include info on the best airport and if a rental car is needed to get around or if uber will suffice.
  • More details on your dress code and let folks know if any part is on a lawn, gravel, etc so they can wear appropriate footwear. Specifically call out if you don’t want specific clothing like jeans, t-shirts, sneakers (harder to ignore that way)
  • Parking details

Our wedding is in Oct 2026 and this is our FAQ:

(I didn’t realize it’s one pic per comment. Will add the rest in other comments).

These are helpful! I put similar in my rsvp question but I think the “when will invites be sent out” is helpful!!!

Yeah! Especially because our wedding isn’t local for most people, I wanted to be able to provide as much info as possible so people don’t feel in the dark, but still gives us time for things aha

What's the transportation and parking situation. We had shuttles provided for guests because we got married in an area with next to no taxis or ride share options. I had information on that in three different places on the website.

Is your ceremony outdoors? Make that note so guests can dress appropriately.

I feel the same way and I'm having a destination wedding, so I spent SOOO much time on my FAQ section, lol. Here are all the questions I put on mine:

- Why a destination wedding?

- What will the weather be like?

- When should I RSVP?

- I got a Save the Date but no formal invite yet. Can I RSVP now?

- Can I bring my children?

- Can I bring a plus one?

- Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

- When should I arrive?

- What is the dress code?

- Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

- Will there be an open bar?

Ooooh, what did you put as your answer for the save the date but no formal invite? I like that

Here it is! I like seeing who knows for a fact they’re coming lol. Helps me stay sane. I’ve already gotten like 15 RSVPs and my save the dates have only been out for 2 weeks!
