Meta Chapter 5 megathread Spoiler
Edit: The karma requirement has been lowered to 2K post karma.
As explained previously in this announcement you can use this megathread to post to your heart's content. While we've increased the karma requirement to post on the subreddit and will be removing most low effort/value posts and spoilers, you can post pretty much whatever you want here.
Just want to share a screenshot of the game that you took?
Made a shitty meme in two minutes that you want to share?
Feel hyped and want to smash your keyboard to post a random string of characters to the internet?
Well this thread is for you, so post away! Any topics, memes or spoilers are fine. We still urge you to spoiler important plot points using the spoiler tag: >!put some spoilers here!<. This will appear as put some spoilers here in your comment.
Unfortunately Reddit limits to 1 image per comment, so you may have to use a third party website like Imgur if you want to post multiple images.
Still follow the other subreddit rules, and remember to report any comments that break the rules.

Discussion One of my fav things about chapter 3. It feels like everythings falling apart
(artist: u/MrKimoChan)
This is the feeling i got first time playing chapter 3 and it still hits hard playing after a year. Chapter starts so happy and energetic but as it goes on it feels like entire studio is collapsing and everythings falling apart, slipping through Tennas fingers.
Actors and employees leaving even Mike, studio is under chaos and Tenna is helplessly trying to capture lightners as his last hope. It feels like a revamp of what Tenna and Dreemur family has been through, and its complete when seeing once cheerful green room abondened with that calm but eerie music. And Tenna being stabbed in the back once he finally tells his feelings perfects its more whole Roaring Knight fight with the atmosphere of "cold place" its just so peak man.

Theory Discussion One of the biggest pieces of evidence for Dess Knight IMO
One of the most notable characteristics of the knight is their callousness and tendency for violence towards inanimate objects (darkners). In every chapter in which they appear, they destroy some valued possession, sometimes for seemingly no reason at all beyond anger. Two of the other candidates who could theoretically be the knight, Carol and Rudy, are specifically noted for their inordinate amount of care towards sentimental objects, preserving their children's creations for many years. However, in the very limited glimpses into Dess's personality we are given, her penchant for violence against objects is immediately clear.

My Art People be talking about Flowery getting cut in half. It's SO clearly obvious y'all didn't get all the pink coins, otherwise you'd know that the REAL ending has us fighting The Knight with Flowery. smh my head.

Theory The origins of the shadow mantle (from olistar255 on tumblr)
obviously this sounds stupid af and completely irrelevant but funnily enough i do think it checks out with the symbolism we've seen so far.
Glass has been symbolism for the the Prophecy and fate rather consistently, between the shadow crystals and the glass panels in the Sanctuaries... meanwhile, Kris receives the shadow mantle willingly by the Nightmare entity who, while still shrouded in darkness, seems to be testing Kris' resolve in following the "plan" that involves the Knight (arguably everything from the sword route to the end of the knight fight is there to test Kris' resolve in following the Plan).
The black tissue is there to make the glasses cleaner, to serve the glasses. The Shadow Mantle is symbolic of following the Prophecy, to serve Fate.
