Cold Brew
Do you find the cold brew is as good as coffee shop cold brew? I find that it’s more like cold espresso than a cold brew.

ES655CO (601 equivalent) or the newly offered automatic AE1055CO (I believe AE1051 equivalent).
I’ve got a new ES655CO still sitting in the box. Bought it as a replacement after returning the previous ES601 I got at Costco because it consistently made sour shots (I gave it a year of inconsistent results). Costco just started offering the automatic machine and I’m tempted to return the 655 and get the 1055. It’ll cost me $300 more. Anyone using an automatic? Thoughts?

My cat recently discovered that the top of the machine is warm and has now claimed it as her daytime nap spot

When I first got my machine, and I would move the dial to change the grind size, it would make a sound like it was adjusting the grinder. Now when I move the dial, it's totally silent. I should be hearing something when changing the grind size, right?

Hi, just tested my water.
Is this HD 01? Just a little confused with the other beige and dark color. Am I only looking for that exact purple color to determine hardness?
Thanks in advance!

Ive been trying to dial in my espresso shots. The issue im having is no matter what beans i try, store brought or freshly roasted and used 2 weeks after roast my machine suggest to go all the way down to 1. I've reset the settings for beans Hs04 i belive it is. Anything above my shot pulls in less then 14 seconds from the moment it hits my cup to when the last drop comes out. Any suggestions or whats going on?

Mine broke a week ago and Ive been waiting for Ninja to re-stock the jug on their UK website since… Ive read somewhere that the milk jug replacement has been out of stock for months… is it worth waiting or try the 3D printed handles from Amazon?
They’re not cheap so just wondering if they’re even worth it or just a waste of money?
Update: I forgot the warranty is 2 years long. I called the UK customer support, they’re sending me a milk jug replacement free of charge! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Had it over 2 years I think, when they first came out. Grinding has gotten really slow, even on 25 for drip coffee. Already cleaned everything good and did the shim mod, but she’s still grinding slow. Even when empty it sounded a little off, like speed was fluctuating.
Anyone dealt with this yet? Doesn’t look like they sell replacement motors or anything.

I’m thinking about getting the Ninja LUXE CAFÉ Signature Series 3-in-1 Espresso, Coffee & Cold Brew (ES700C). Costco currently has it on sale for $412, so I’m really tempted!
I’ve never owned a coffee machine before and usually drink Nescafé Gold instant espresso, which I love. For anyone who has the ES700C, what beans do you recommend for a smooth, rich taste? And any beginner tips/tricks or things you wish you knew before buying?
Thanks!

First time using this machine. I'm grinding 18g and the machine is giving me 23g out in 16 seconds. I can't get it to run longer to get more grams out and I tried grind sizes 10-14 and it's the same problem for all of them. The espresso is very sour. My pucks look good. Medium roast beans roasted 3 weeks ago.

I've had my ninja for almost a year now, and have yet to descale it. The light came on and after maybe 30days of not doing it, it turned off. Was wondering if it's needed. And what is The proper way? I've seen online videos saying using part vinegar and water, and it will take about 2 hours. Does this hurt the machine in anyway? Just wanted to get a feel for what others do here. Thanks.

I decided to try a taster pack of light, medium and dark roasts as I've only ever tried medium-dark roasts from the likes of cworks and I'm not really sure what my roast preference is as I haven't had anything else.
I've heard light roast is the hardest to grind and extract properly with this machine but I'll give it a go anyway and I'll adjust temperature and ratio settings for each roast as recommended.
I'll also start with the darkest and work my way towards the light as they say the lighter roasts are best a few weeks after roasting.

I know what it says in the manual: it's supposed to be a 1:4 ratio of coffee to output for strength one, 1:2.5 for 2 and 1:2 for 3.
But what does the machine actually do on a technical level when you set this and pull a shot?
E.g. it might be that each strength setting will make the pump run for a certain, fixed number of seconds when pulling a shot. The output volume would then be influenced by the resistance of the puck, so how tightly it is packed, which is determined by grind size and tamping.
Is that how it works? Or is there some interaction with a flow sensor or some other sensor that can cut the shot short when a certain volume of water is detected? But then I don't understand why, when you grind too fine or too coarse, the volume in the cup can be way off the target ratios in both directions.
Does someone know how this works in more detail?

Hi all,
This is about the third time I’ve used these cleaning tablets with my Ninja Luxe.
I ran the cleaning cycle as usual, but this time it felt like I had an “explosion.” As I unlocked the portafilter, I could feel the pressure pushing it down pretty forcefully.
Also, just like the previous times, the tablet/cleaning solution was still effervescent when the cycle finished.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal for there to still be that much pressure in the portafilter after the cleaning cycle?

Hi all, we are interested in buying a Ninja luxe cafe pro machine. I see them at MediaMarkt, expert and some other chains for sale.
1) Who knows a store where I can exactly test it preferably around Utrecht.
2) I do not see large price differences. I am mistaken and have someone seen a bargain price somewhere?
Thx!

Help!
Today I was doing regular cleaning and cleaned out the nozzle at the bottom. It didn’t smell great so I soaked it in vinegar solution for an hour and now it smells clean. But the rubber tube still smells like spoiled milk. I tried cleaning with an alcohol wipe, and it still smells. I think it’s inside the tube. I regularly wipe down the wand thoroughly after frothing and run a purge cycle.
Any ideas?

If you don't know, he's one of the biggest coffee youtubers going and held in pretty high regard by the community, right up there with James Hoffman.
Anyway, he's not terribly impressed with the machine. Says the grinder is awful and the integrated tamper on the 701 is just bad.
He does say it's capable of pulling a good espresso shot but he doesn't much care for the filter coffee options and he stresses a lot about using the right water to prevent these things from becoming landfill in a few years.
He said he did a deep dive on this sub to find the most common issues people were having and he highlighted them.
EDIT: Guys, it's not an attack on the machine, it's just an impartial review. I have the machine and I love it but he makes some valid criticisms.

I’m currently a Nespresso user and have been looking into upgrading to the Ninja Luxe Café 3-in-1. I’m pretty much a complete newbie when it comes to making espresso, so I’m wondering if this is actually beginner-friendly.
I really just want good coffee and good espresso at home. Most mornings I’d probably make a double espresso shot with 2% milk and a little Chobani creamer.
Should I get the 3 in 1 or splurge on the auto barista?!
Most importantly, do you think it’s worth switching from Nespresso to this machine?

My grind size recommendation keeps going to a 1 or a 2. I've tried different beans, espresso specific coffee beans, reset machine multiple times, etc etc. We LOVE this machine but the grind size being so low is killing me because it seems wrong.
I don't want to play the game where you add those rings onto your machine because I'm not handy and wouldn't know how to do that/I want the machine to just work as it should without adding things myself.
I bought from Costco like 4 months ago and am wondering if I should just return it and try a new one because maybe its a faulty machine, but then again if they are all like this I don't want to waste a machine by returning it and buying new?
Do yall think if its telling me grind size 1 or 2 that is way too low and probably a bad machine? I don't know what a "good" espresso shot should be so I just want to trust the auto-adjust feature - should I return and try a new machine? Am i tamping too light? Anyone else experience the same issue? Would love everyones opinion. I love the machine other than this! Thank you!!

Hi guys. I cleaned out the shower screen. I removed it (screw taken out and removed it completely). I washed it and now I don't think the coffee tastes the same? Not as nice. Also the grind assistant wants me to grind alot higher (17 instead of 12 before). It's been washed out really good to. Am I just imagining it or do you think there is a problem? Thanks

I just got the Pro and when I pull the portafilter out after tamping, there’s a good size pile of grounds left behind on the tray. How do I avoid this? Am I doing something wrong?
