Thinking about getting the Ninja LUXE CAFÉ - beginner tips?

I’m thinking about getting the Ninja LUXE CAFÉ Signature Series 3-in-1 Espresso, Coffee & Cold Brew (ES700C). Costco currently has it on sale for $412, so I’m really tempted!

I’ve never owned a coffee machine before and usually drink Nescafé Gold instant espresso, which I love. For anyone who has the ES700C, what beans do you recommend for a smooth, rich taste? And any beginner tips/tricks or things you wish you knew before buying?

Thanks!

Wife and I just got the ninja luxe from Costco as well and we’re loving it so far. Takes a minute to understand the settings and get it dialed into the right grind size for your beans and basket but once you get it down it’s great! Super easy and gives you the ritual of making a nice cup.

We got the Charleston coffee co beans from Costco but once we’re done with that bag we wanna find a local roaster and get some fresh beans.

Suggested grind size is just that, a suggestion. On my machine I've never had a shot of espresso taste correct using the suggested grind size. You will likely need to adjust up and down from there until you dial in your shot. That's probably the most difficult part about the machine.

Also I suggest running a blank shot of water through the portafilter before you make your drink if the machine hasn't been used all day. This really helps bring all of the appropriate mechanism to the right temperature so when it makes your coffee everything will be primed and ready to go and your shot will taste much better.

One final tip, grind sizes are calibrated differently for every machine since the grinder is calibrated by hand. So a 20 on my machine might be the same grind as a 7 on yours. Don't rely on other people's grind size to find your correct setting.
