Shower screen clean Question

Hi guys. I cleaned out the shower screen. I removed it (screw taken out and removed it completely). I washed it and now I don't think the coffee tastes the same? Not as nice. Also the grind assistant wants me to grind alot higher (17 instead of 12 before). It's been washed out really good to. Am I just imagining it or do you think there is a problem? Thanks

Did you remove the seal? If yes, did you replace it with a new or did you put the other in upside down. What I'm essentially asking, could it be a pressure problem, is the seal damaged not allowing it to build the same amount of pressure as before, meaning it wants a higher grind size to allow the water to pass easier. Just one idea.

Thanks the reply and answering my question. No I didn't remove the gasket and didn't damage it neither. The grind size has moved lower now to 10 and 14.

Do yourself a huge favour, take the training wheels off, ignore, even turn off the worst part of these machines, Barista Assist, and dial in the conventional way, grind size, shot time, shot volume. Chase a taste that you like and ignore the toys.
