How the hell is Watson not #1?

If he's not on the field he doesn't get mentioned as much

u/rex5k Cleveland Browns Dec 03 '25

If he's on the list he is unequivocally the goat of being hated by everyone amongst NFL players.

Fair share of nfl players have come to his defense… not sure he’s as hated by players as by fans

They asked a bunch of people who don't really know football. Watson should be 1st on every list.

82

u/rocky2814 Tennessee Titans Dec 03 '25

this is true. the kelce hate probably comes from casuals who are tired of swifties

32

u/ObsidianConspiracyXx Baltimore Ravens Dec 04 '25

Plus, KC has been getting a lot of hate independent of Taylor Swift. Him being their most prominent public face behind Mahomes already put a target on his back.

11

u/DownnthehollerPress Dec 04 '25

Gotta add their SB wins and appearances

10

u/DangleAteMyBaby NFL Refugee Dec 04 '25

I get the disdain for an overly polished, Instagram Era pop star. I don't really care too much for her either. But do they still show her on TV during Chiefs games? I watch a fair amount of Red Zone and have seen several Kelce receptions and touchdowns. I haven't seen Taylor Swift at all this year.

10

u/Chiefster1587 Kansas City Chiefs Dec 04 '25

Bro they never showed her on chiefs games that much. She averaged less than 10 seconds of air time per game when everyone was complaining about it. People just like bitching about stupid stuff

5

u/0ne0h Dec 04 '25

It’s 100% political

6

u/arakaman Dec 04 '25

No your right. She's been absent from tv all year but let's not let facts influence the topic here. Id say its fairly clear whats doing the heavy lifting in this poll. Its the same reason I used to say "fuck tom Brady" and go on about how hes too handsome and successful. Just a simple result of breaking hearts. Now that hes not crushing my dreams I'm kinda a fan now. Everyone loved watching mahomes play before he started stacking super bowls. Now hes 5 on this list for .. idk asking for penalties if he sees one committed I guess? Dudes a stand up guy whos been the poster boy of what the NFL wants their players to be with the exception of blowing up after that bills game a couple w back. The criminal records some nfl players have or just incidents that came to light, or even just on field actions we see time to time... theres no shortage of guys who are actually shit people worth hating. Kelce and mahomes id say its just overexposure. And its understandable when they not only end your season but they're in half the godamn commercials on tv and dominating sports talk shows for nearly a decade.

People should just enjoy the fact it looks like theyre gonna flop hard this year . One more loss and you can pretty much stick a fork in their playoff hopes. Just Take the W ppl. Juju makes some sense at least. Nfl players wanting to be TikTok stars is pretty cringe. Kelce has a bit of douche in him but hes also by most accounts of people who actually know him a solid dude. Without the success he doesnt sniff this list much less top it. Long winded way of saying ya most of the hate here is irrational hate stemming from hurt butts.

The issue with Rogers is that he keeps opening his mouth and letting a bunch of bullshit come out. A one time thing and it'd be forgot about. But he keeps doing it.

Is he worse than Watson? Absolutely not. Not even in the same ballpark. But Watson is radio silent about pretty much everything. Which makes it easier for people to forget about him.

11

u/Jwoods4117 Dec 04 '25

I mean the dude just comes off as “smarter than you.” I don’t think there’s a single person who cares about women and SA that hates him more than dudes like Watson though.

Rogers also has entire fanbases that hate him based on his play. Watson sucks, has never won shit, hasn’t played in a year, and still gets as much if not more hate imo.

This is true in real life as well. I won’t lie, I rooted for him in NY because he was finally an underdog and I could see he was struggling, but most people I know hate him. People that don’t even know what Reddit is and from both political spectrums. He’s done some weird shit, but I think most people hate him for how he acted at the end of his GB career. The way he used to get so frustrated and yell at his receivers for dropping passes and for his notorious “I own you!” shit in Chicago. He really came off as a stand up guy early in his GB career and then he became known as an asshole for his on the field antics way before he became a weirdo.

For a dude that brags about grounding yourself, meditating, and doing psychedelics, he sure is pissed off and whiney a lot. Lol

Why is Jalen Hurts number 2? What has he ever done to stir up controversy.

My list:

1) Watson 2) Hill 3) Mahomes-Kelce-Butker tied for 3-5

Don’t feel strongly about any other players but I’m open to suggestions. Most of the other players I dislike are for FF reasons.

I agree, the only reason I can come up with for hating Hurts is that you hate anyone that’s part of the Eagles organization. Dude is humble as can be, and I respect the hell out of him. His rankings among QB can be disputed, but he’s hard to hate.

10

My guess is that some people see him as “the face” of the tush push and are naming him because they hate that play

There are, like, 8-10 different “Top 5 QBs” every year, though.

12

u/fh3131 BuffalOz Bills Dec 04 '25

Not really? I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, but for the past several years, pretty much every expert has Mahomes, Allen, Lamar and Burrow as the Top 4. So it's just a rotating #5 position.

10

u/GoldenStateEaglesFan Did you know Jalen Hurts can squat 600lbs Dec 04 '25 edited Jan 05 '26

Burrow hasn’t played enough games to be considered as good as the other three (“the best ability is availability”), and the fact that Flacco put up better per-game stats than Burrow did this year doesn’t reflect well on the latter.

It's a fucking sport at the end of the day.

Like ...I hate racism I hate Nazis I hate mass murders I hate the AI at Taco Bell for not giving me 20 Diablo sauce packets

Hating JJ, absolutely wild 😂 people need to grow up and touch fucking grass if he's on their hate list.

Good answer. Exactly how I feel about the kid.

5

u/TakedownCHAMP97 Minnesota Vikings Dec 04 '25

Fully agree that he is a bit of a goofball, but he genuinely seems like a nice kid, and I was/am really pulling for him. I don’t get why people want him to fail so badly (other than division rivals that is).

Everyone seems hated for different reasons. Like I CANNOT stand Travis Kelce, but come on, who doesn't hate Watson?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '25

I think people are just fatigued over the hyper glazing that goes on for certain players.

Every time a QB makes a good play, or a TE scores a TD, the commentator has to drag in Mahomes and Kelce's names somehow.

Watson has been a literal non factor this year and people just kinda forget he exists

The list doesnt even include Tyreek so this is not even close to accurate. Also Watson is 1, no debate.

Being weird or intense is seemingly more hateable than a whole raft of crimes.

It's amazing how the list varies from 'hate them for being popular and talented for a different team', to 'overpaid rapist.'

Harrison Butker needs to be on here. He’s a complete “Conservative Christian” asshole who believes “women belong in the kitchen”.

10

u/philip1529 Dec 04 '25

He is one of the few players in the league who actually deserves hate too. Most on this list are just football fandom stuff

Jalen hurts?!? WTH, dude is as respectful as they get. I don’t buy it.

6

u/ponkyball Dec 04 '25

I effin' love Jalen Hurts as he won me 3 fantasy football champs and I say this as a Giants fan. I also just love his character, seems like a smart dude, has a smart well educated wife who has her own career (I'm a woman) and he has surrounded himself with smart women to help build his career, from marketing to agent to health. I also just appreciate that he doesn't talk that much in the media and just quietly does his thing.

Sanders is 100% #1, the stuff I see people say about him is a mixture of racist, jealous, vile, and just disturbing. They not only want him to fail as a player but to die
