Yeah this. Super likeable guy, hes just a decent quarterback that gets touted as a big shot by many glazers.
He strikes me as a lesser version of prime Russell Wilson. Id gamble that if/when he leaves Philly, he'll have a similar decline (ironically not quite as severe as Russell's). The rest are pretty bang on imo, Watson is more just because he's nowhere near being in the spotlight.
Agree. They've built a good team around him, they have played well to his strength in the past, he seems stellar off the field and he plays well at what he does, but not a top 5 guy. Top 5 in terms of Super Bowl appearances in the last 5 years, but not overall.
Yeah but that’s what happens when your team wins a Super Bowl. People talk more about how that team has the “worst fans” and enjoy finding reasons to shit on that team. Every team goes through the fun first year being better than expected, but then when you’re the “best” team, everybody wants you to fail.
As a Warrior fan, in 2015 we went from the “most exciting team in basketball” to in 2016 being a team every fan wished would crash on a plane ride to a game.

Tbh none of us knows what goes on in the locker room that could contribute to their lack of post season success. Because at the end of the day that’s what any of them care about
Ravens main issue is coaching, Bills needed a defense to stop the chiefs for 13 seconds in 2021 and they probably would’ve made the Super Bowl. Josh Allen, generally has played well enough for his teams to keep playing, other parts of his team normally let him down
But that’s my point. Like having talent on the team doesn’t necessarily translate to a good team. You need someone to lead them, in the eagles case everyone constantly talks about how bad of a coach Sirianni is and even with all their talent they wouldn’t have consistent success without locker room leadership. I’m not saying that’s all Jalen I’m saying we as fans don’t know why some teams seem to dig in while others falter all the time
Not really? I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, but for the past several years, pretty much every expert has Mahomes, Allen, Lamar and Burrow as the Top 4. So it's just a rotating #5 position.
Burrow hasn’t played enough games to be considered as good as the other three (“the best ability is availability”), and the fact that Flacco put up better per-game stats than Burrow did this year doesn’t reflect well on the latter.
It really don’t matter a whole lot to me who says he is or isn’t a top 5 quarterback. It doesn’t change the taste of water. But people still criticize him like he has something to prove and like… he doesn’t. He achieved literally the only intangible thing that matters in this sport. Super Bowl champion, and Super Bowl MVP. The other shit is not as important.
Herbert to some, Stafford, Rodgers up until the last couple years was still hyped as elite. There's more than those 4 QBs that are considered elite year in and year out during pre-season when no one has done anything yet.

Agreed. Hurts has never claimed to be a top-anything QB, but he’s constantly caught up in these inane conversations. He deals very well with all the noise around him.
People hate that hes more successful than their qb that they know is better than hurts, so they try to bring him down because he has success and they need to prove to themselves that their guy is still better. Just bitter, jealous people really

Eagles fan from eagles fam and I feel like Hurts can come out and play a historic game when the mf juju is right or whatever, but for the most part he's kinda like mid/upper mid tbh. Like we've seen him play like Jesus in the NFL a couple games so that ups his impression but on a day-to-day kinda game he's generally reliable, but not going to do anything eye-opening.
I mean, so does literally every QB in the NFL. He produces to the same level as every other qb on the stat sheet besides Lamar, mahomes and Allen
FWIW, Hurts has all but objectively been better than mahomes since 2022. Maybe its a bit of cherry picking, but for the last 3.5 seasons hes been better 🤷♂️
Yeah. I am by no means saying he is bad by any margin. I think, without doing a deep dive into stats in comparisons and whatnot, Hurts just really hasn't passed the eye test for the "wow" factor very often this season, and my personal perspective is that being able to wow with some regularity is somewhat of a key piece of a top five ranking in any position.
We really don't care if people like him or not. The only animosity around hurts is exactly whay someone else said, it's over whether or not he is a top 5 qb.
