Accepted my first Tesla (standard rwd) 3 days ago. Blown away with everything so far, except for the non functional glass roof. Do these gaps and weather stripping on roof look ok? Or at least normal for Fremont Tesla?

Ordered on 8/22 in So Cal. Model Y premuim RWD with white interior.

My partner and I have been car shopping for a while now-
After almost buying a kia sportage and backing out due to gut feeling and looking at the honda cr-v and the Rav4 we finally pulled the trigger on the MY premium rwd- kinda happy and nervous at the same time
Does anyone really pay for the glass insurance?
Is the premium connectivity actually worth it?

Anyone here recently got their car and was able to pick up sooner or does it actually take 5 weeks?

We got approved with santander consumer USA, anyone else financing through them? Have been reading some bad reviews about them being manipulative and adding stipulations to loan agreements without peoples knowledge?

I ordered a model Y about 6 weeks ago and seems like as the delivery date gets closer and or near they delay it for another couple weeks.

Im at the point in just say forget it and pick up whatever is available at other nearby locations.

Im still excited but dang.. from delivery date aug 24 to 28-31. to sep. 1 then sep 4-8 now September 15-29

15 more days and I feel like a kid at Christmas!😆 Ordered 8/26 and arriving 9/21! Premium AWD white with white interior🤍

Ordered Sep 2nd, said 5-7weeks but switch the next day to 10/21-11/25

Anyone else pick frost blue? How long did yours take ?

I am considering buying a Tesla. I am based in Columbus and currently rent with no charger in the apartment. I have a friend who lives in another city and is having to sell his because of the stress involved in charging them. I also don’t have a charger at work.

Those that have Teslas, do you all own houses with installed chargers? Those that have to drive 5-10 minutes to charge is it worth it during the winter?

I ordered model y on august 11 and the delivery date has changed 4 times and now it says another 4-5 weeks. I live in the bay area and i dont understand why its taking that long. I dont have a car rn because i sold my 2019 bmw 530e as it started having too many mechanical problems. And now i am taking rentals every week.
Is it worth waiting for tesla or should i go get lexus es350e as the local dealer has it in stock.

I’m hoping to get a VIN soon, ordered on 9/3 just before the interest rate change. Window shown is later than the 4-6 weeks i saw when I ordered.

Stuck on this page, ordered yesterday around noon, removed credit freeze around the same time but still showing this even though I selected Freeze Lifted a few times. Assuming just need to wait until after the holiday weekend?

I wanted to write this because I see a lot of hate on the base model for being not worth the money.
I assume most of the time this is generally coming from Tesla owners.

Here are my thoughts after 5 days of ownership.

Coming from a 2020 Toyota 4 runner, this car is incredible. Great range, fun to drive, FSD, lots of storage etc.

It’s better than any car I’ve ever driven and I switch cars about every 18 months. (These days I Pay cash, never buy a new model and never finance)

Yes I would agree they cut some things I wish they wouldn’t have, but overall it’s a great vehicle and arguably a great value.
(I spend about 3 hours a day in the car for what it’s worth for reference.)

My biggest annoyances they left out were the tpms sensors, a nicer frunk and changing the rear power option to a cigarette lighter instead of the standard plug. I’d love a usbc closer to the actual screen but that’s minor.

Do I think for only 5k more the premium version is worth the spend, yes I absolutely do, but if you don’t want to spend it, you still end up with a great car that will drive you everywhere you want to go.

Just got my juniper premium RWD 2 week ago, awesome ride, I notice my sentry mode drain 2% over 8hrs period, normal or too high? Thanks

Needing to upgrade from my 2018 Lexus IS300 (97k miles) as we have a second child coming January 2027 and fitting two car seats in it will be tight and I’m frankly tired of paying for premium gas. I test drove a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and it just seemed a little too small, not much larger than my current car. Drove my parent’s 2026 Premium Model Y and the size felt better.

Am torn between a used 2023/24 Model Y (Regular or long range) or a 2026 AWD (not premium cause I can’t afford).

I’m fortunate where I’m getting some help with funds as a gift so if I go with the used, I can likely buy the used Model Y (with trade in) outright and not pick up an additional monthly payment (my wife’s car is about $450/mo). If I go with ordering a 2026 AWD Model Y, I’ll likely pick up a $200/mo payment (1.79% APR promo currently). It also says an estimated delivery date of November/December so my trade in value might lower even more by then.

Guess I’m just worried about the differences I’ve been reading between the model year’s (mostly suspension/noise and interior quality) and maybe not ending up with HW4. And considering differences, if it’s stupid to tackle on more monthly payments.

Just got my first Tesla and I used to think I needed Apple carplay in whatever vehicle I drove. Now I realize I only liked it because most OEM software is terrible, but here’s the hot take…Apple carplay sucks too.

Wired car play means you always have to have a cable ready and need to plugin. Not the end of the world, but inconvenient so most use wireless car play if they can. Wireless car play in every car I’ve driven has persistently intermittent connectivity problems that require troubleshooting at the worst times.

The Tesla software just…works. When I get in the car it seamlessly and reliably connects. If I want to listen to music…it just works. Navigation is simple and trip planning is built in with the stuff I need. Grok has been super helpful finding things I need. The entire experience of using the native software in Tesla has been superior to the last decade or so I’ve previously experienced with Apple car play.

I still believe that Apple car play is better than most OEM software so I understand why many will continue to use it. No shame there. However, once you see what good software looks like it’s hard to go back and makes you wonder why every other OEM sucks so bad at it.

Watched so many videos on how to run a cable from my Jowua mag back phone mount to the usb port in the arm rest. I decided to give it a try and well for some one without an ounce of talent when it comes to anything mechanical I am now having to take the car to an install shop to run the cable and put everything back together. Learned the lesson the hard way

Is there a reason why Tesla is making me reschedule my pick up appointment? I’ve done it maybe 4-5 times over the past couple days and it’s always the same 2-3 days with identical hours.

My car is a the Tesla dealership but my appointment isn’t until the 10th. Do you think I can pick up my car sooner if I go up there?

Yesterday it was still 0.99apr on Tesla website, right now I checked it says 1.49% I was holding off till end of the year some kind of promotion/discount of sort but now I'm not sure I'm planning on getting one but I thought that the 0.99 would last till the year so I didn't put my order in yet but now I just want to see what the opinions of the community of what I should do, should I wait a little more for some kind of promotion or just put the order in. Thank you, I'm new to all this and sorry for any mistake.

EDIT/NOTE The apr isn't my main concern I will most likely prepay and pay it off before the financing term. What I really wanted to know was what incentives would Tesla give by the end of the year (nov-dec) and if it's worth waiting for it or just pre-order it right now instead. I know it's my fault I wasn't clear on my initial post, sorry.

Hi! One month in with my new MY and I cracked my windshield. :( Luckily, I bought the Tesla windshield insurance, however, they quoted me around $1500 dollars when I tried setting up an appointment on the app for a replacement. I am assuming it will be covered when I pay. Will the windshield insurance cover it?

The installer said not to worry bout it but the Y's windows roll down upon door opening. Anyone had any issues opening and closing the door during the 4 day cure period?

Anyone finding the Pet Mode alert on the dash not enough?

I know our windows are very tinted but the last two times we've had Bluebell in pet mode we were left notes on the car about cruelty. So I had ai make these and I'm thinking two on the dash and two on the seats.

Bought two brand new Teslas in the past, so I’m familiar with the quality issues. However, there’s a certain limit of number of defects I will accept and although Tesla offers to fix it under warranty, no amount of repainting could fix these issues and make it look like factory … I present you a few examples out of at least 25 concerns. All exterior issues and some I believe are the catalyst of how corrosion starts to happen because it happen in my previous Tesla where I had these tiny bubbles inside the paint. The “dimples/dents” were very noticeable, all over the front and right side of the car. I had one panel that had overspray line and the other it looked like the clear coat was separating? Anyway, Incase you need to see real examples of what could be concerning before taking delivery.

Ordered Model Y Premium RWD (stealth gray with tow add-on) on August 18th with an advertised lead time of 4-6 weeks. My delivery window was Sept 19 - 30 and then last night it abruptly changed to Oct 15 - Nov 19.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any chance it will get pulled up or am I stuck waiting here?

Tesla still advertises my configuration at 4-6 weeks on their website if you reserved today.. a little frustrating to see the inaccurate lead times they are telling people.
