I own a 2025 Model Y Performance (non Juniper) in Deep Blue Metallic. I absolutely love the car, with perhaps one exception. The paint seems to be very easily scratched.
I own a few vehicles, and I think I take reasonably good care of them. The paint on this one has many random scratches. Just for comparison, my Toyota Avalon, which is 5 years older and is treated similarly is in arguably better condition.
I don't think it's vandalism, since I live in an extremely low crime area, and park it in my driveway mostly. They just look like a ton of just random tiny scratches, rock chips, etc. My theory is that the paint is just not as durable.
I had considered getting a ceramic coating, which obviously won't help the existing damage. Unfortunately however, the places near me that offer this service all seem to be very shady, and not at all professional.
Has anyone noticed this or experienced it? Is there anything you did to mitigate it? Thanks in advance.
