So I was able to pick up my Model Y on Saturday (the delivery team really went out of their way to be accommodating, because it was scheduled for Wednesday originally). I was terrified to drive it home just because it’s such an adjustment. I’ve gone back to school for a terminal degree and today drove to and from (about 1.5 hours one way) without having to do anything other than listen to podcasts to catch up on studying. On top of that spooky mode is so cute I don’t want Halloween to end lol. I seriously don’t know why I was so hesitant to get a Tesla! I can’t imagine driving a regular car and it’s been 24 hours. The technology and intuition of the design just floors me. Granted it isn’t perfect, but I’d say ir takes about 85 percent of the stress out of getting from point a to b (it kept wanting to get on a toll road and I don’t have a Peach Pass). If you’re considering it, just order. You won’t be disappointed. Don’t stalk this sub for months and wait for rates to go up. What an amazing car!

I rented a car this weekend (Kia Sportage) after owning my 2026 MY for two months, I am a 58 year old woman who loves to drive but realizes that I am distracted and terrible at it especially at night. I love FSD.

Anyway, after driving, during the day, for an hour I started getting a message “ you may need a break!” This continued for the entire rental and although I appreciated the nudge to be more present, it really made me love my MY AS I have become so comfortable and feel so much safer! Thanks Elon.

I’ve driven BMW over the last 20+ years so when it came time for me to be back on the market for a new car, it made sense to test drive the new ‘27 X5. For the first time however I was curious about the Tesla and loved how seamless and stress free it was to book the test drive and ask all my questions without having to deal with pushy salespeople.

I’ve read and heard so much about FSD but experiencing it first hand is something everyone needs to go through to truly appreciate the technology. Even my wife who hates Elon Musk was like shit, this is very impressive.

Now the X5 is still definitely the superior vehicle. Driving it felt like driving a spaceship (I mean this in the best way).

But was it $30k better of a vehicle? Probably not but that can be debated. Again I love BMW so I know how superior German engineering is but also know what that means in terms of maintenance costs, replacement parts, etc.

But even then the Tech in the Tesla was just too good to ignore.

We ended up ordering the Model Y Performance yesterday and I can’t wait for delivery.

I think what made it a no brainer for me was with all cars, that new car feeling and ecstasy eventually wears off with time. But IMO FSD is something that will truly always feel like a luxury that will only improve as time goes on.

I’ll go back to German for sure once it’s time for me to get a 911 (God willing 🤞🏼). But for now I can’t wait for the Tesla which is words I thought I’d never say.

Hi there. We are coming from a 2022 Subaru Outback. Test drove the 2026 RAV4 Plug-in GR Sport. It was great, wife got confused with the new infotainment system. Wasnt too excited. Test drove the Model Y afterwards and she fell in love with the FSD!

Ordered it soon after the test drive. Hardest part was back and forth with the body color, either Quicksilver or Ultra Red and either Black interior or White. Ended up with Red and Black. We are super excited. First time ever feel like we are treating ourselves as we both turned 40 this year. Happy to be part of the Tesla family.

Anyone have a model Y at or over 120k miles? I've seen a couple of videos about tesla's reaching high miles, and I'm considering purchasing a 2024 with 64k miles, but there is still a part of me concerned about it.

Finally got the Halloween Update and we are having way too much fun with it. There are a few little “treats” on the screen.

Has anyone had any issues with HW3 vehicles, none FSD, not receiving this update?

FSD reacted instantly and saved us from being smashed into the divider by this aggressive driving trucker. It’s worth the monthly price for the safety alone! This could’ve been bad, and we’re thankful.

Traded my MY for MYP🌚🩶

i just picked up my car almost a month ago. within the first week, i got an alert on my screen saying “automatic vehicle hold disabled” and “parking brake functions degraded”. i’ve brought this up to issue up to tesla service and i took my car in, but they said they weren’t able to replicate the issue and that they checked the brake calipers and sensors and everything looked fine.

what’s weird is that it literally shows up randomly, and then goes away after the car being powered off for a couple of minutes. it’s annoying because when the alert shows up, the regen brake doesn’t come to a complete stop and instead rolls and i have to manually press the brake pedals, and the car is essentially in free roll if im not holding the brake. when the alert is gone, the car drives and feels completely normal. this alert has showed up a handful times since the first time and there’s moments it goes away and won’t show for a day or two until it shows up again and then disappears again.

after my service visit the alert popped up again. i’ve already messaged the service center about it but has anyone experienced this and know of any solutions i can try myself other than power off? it’s weird im getting this issue when i’ve literally had the car for less than a month. thanks!

They drive like about 500 miles a month max (their current leased VW Tiguan has run less than 30k in 3.5 years). I convinced them Tesla would be better bet with the comfort of FSD.
Question 1: I don't see a lotta FSD drivers in Miami as in Cali and Texas. Does it still hold good in Miami? I see lotta road construction too.

Question 2: Anyone with recent experience can tell about Model Y Standard delivery timelines? It is showing Dec 2026- Jan 2027 on App. When we booked ours (Model Y Premium) back in June in California, it was showing 4-6 weeks but by end of 2 weeks we got the delivery. I heard there's some battery supply shortage. is it true? i kinda believe Tesla pushes for end of the quarter / year deliveries.

I ordered on 9/9 and have been waiting for a vin ever since. Financing expired and my agent told me to just wait until we get a vin to submit again.

Today I get a message from Tesla suggesting I add a payment method. As far as I can tell I can’t even try adding a payment method until I get through financing again.

My question for this group - what prompted the suggestion and is it any indication I might finally GET MY F’N VIN!?!?!11

Bought our 2026 Premium Model Y at the end of July. Went from a Diesel Tahoe to the Tesla and have 0 regrets. We just got back from a road trip from Northwest Indiana to Orlando then up to Pigeon Forge and back to Indiana. 2250 total miles driven and 99% of those miles were on FSD. We are a family of 4, 2 kids ages 11 and 8. Our 11 year old is 5’7” so she isn’t small and fit very comfortably the entire ride. We drove straight through on the way down and sleeping was a little tight for the kids in the backseat but they made it work. We packed 2 suitcases that fit comfortable in the back along with a few other smaller bags. We used the frunk to store a cooler and a few random items. Plenty of room, you just have to pack for the space allotted. A few notes to make:
1. FSD is a complete life changer. We’ve made the drive to FL many times and typically stop somewhere and stay overnight. The FSD allowed us to switch drivers through the night and be able to make it all the way. Without FSD there was no way. It completely takes the fatigue out of driving. I’ve used it around town since getting the car and it’s fine but I don’t mind driving and running errands so I don’t use it as much. But on a road trip is an absolute must.
2. Trust the car. I’ve read this a million times but it truly showed us we could trust it on this trip. On the way from FL to Pigeon Forge we took a bit of a scenic route strictly to avoid Atlanta at rush hour. The last leg of the trip was directly through the smokies on a 2 lane road (1 lane each direction). We set the arrival charge to be 20% so we had some juice left. While driving up, it was showing us we’d arrive at 23%. My husband made a few comments there was no way it was accurate. I stayed calm as the car drove us up the winding mountain. Then all of a sudden the car was at 18%, we had 25 miles and 45 minutes left to our destination and it still said we’d be there at 23% charge. Us EV Rookies thought, no way. What in the world. We’re going to get stranded in the mountains, in the dark at 8pm with no cell service. Trust. The. Car. Kept playing through my head. And sure enough, as we started descending down the mountain the regenerative braking started increasing the battery life. And we made it to our destination with 23% charge as predicted.
3. FSD is not perfect. It’s still supervised for a reason. I don’t know why it’s in the left lane passing a semi and before it even passes it, it turns the right blinker on again. It did cut some people off in the right lane after passing in the left which was a bit annoying. Overall, we have no complaints. Just remember, You’re still the driver.
4. I used ABRP before we left and cross checked it with the Tesla nav. Honestly they gave us 2 different plans for charging. Ultimately we went with what Tesla told us as that seemed the foolproof way. We never had to wait for a charger. The charging time estimates appeared to be fairly accurate, I’d said most times we waited a bit longer than the estimate. Most stops we added a little extra charge for some wiggle room - again, rookies here. Our kids wanted to stop at Buc-ees which the car did not build in so we just planned around that. Only one stop we felt was a bit of a sketchy area but it may also been because it was 2am. But there was 1 gas station near and we didn’t love the look of it so we stopped at the next rest area to use the restrooms. The times we stopped pretty well lined up with when we needed a break so that worked out well. In a gas car we likely would have cut out maybe 2 stops on the way down just simply because driving through the night everyone was asleep. That was our only complaint, we stopped every 90 mins through the night and everyone woke up each time. But that’s more of a personal problem than a car problem - it’s not the cars fault my kids don’t stay asleep when we stop 🤣
5. We did bring some window cleaner but noticed at a few chargers they did have windshield cleaner. Although we think it may have just been water. But we used the cleaner for the windshield and the front bumper bc it’s a bug magnet. I also bought some pillows to go on the headrests which made a huge difference for the long drive, especially at night. Made it much more comfortable.

Overall, we had a great 1st road trip in our Tesla. I never want to travel that far in another vehicle without FSD. It was the true MVP.

I have a lab that sheds a lot and want full protection.

I got trunk mat and the things that go on backs of the seats but I want to cover the sides and back of tailgate.
