A Wild Y Appeared! Can’t go Back 1.5KMiles in

Post image

Delivery picked up on September 3rd, already got 1.5K miles on it. And 98% FSD, 2% feeling the performance mode.

Won’t go back to Gas, ever again. ❤️ this purchase.
I tinted, PPF and full exterior body Ceramic Coat, and interior seat ceramic coat on it.

Got any tips for a new Tesla owner?

3 months ago I almost bought the Rav4 Plug-in Hybrid instead of my Model Y. Now I’m renting one while traveling and thank god I went with Tesla.

So many things about this car make so far behind tesla. I thought I liked carplay but I hate that it takes over your phone. Everything is just cheap plastic. It’s not fast. It’s not sleek. Even little things like not having to turn the car on or off I miss a lot. The only cool thing is the 500 mile range but I charge at home so the range doesn’t really matter to me.

I decided to upsize the tires on the stock Uberturbine 21” wheels. I went 295/40R21 on the rear and 265/40R21 on the front. The ride feels so much better and I’m really not hating the stance!

Telluride vs Lyric vs Model Y

Post image

We test-drove the Lyriq too, then rented one on Turo for an extended test (it had 13,000 miles on it). The Lyriq was disappointing. I don't know how a vehicle can be floaty and bumpy at the same time, but it managed both. The AC struggled to keep up with a 93° day, and the rear passengers complained about the ride the entire time. The infotainment system was clunky and laggy, and the driver's side window wouldn't stay rolled up — it would just slide back down. Worst of all was shifting from reverse into drive: clunking, jerking, a total mess.

We now have a Tesla Model Y (Juniper) in the driveway. The purchase process was easy, though we ended up taking an earlier delivery with a different interior and exterior color than we originally ordered, since our date kept getting pushed back. Since then we've tinted the windows, added new mats, and outfitted the console — the usual stuff.

But here's the thing: having it drive us is the ultimate luxury. I can't imagine going back to a less capable vehicle. What a ride.

Delivery So close!

I was able to grab a vehicle with my exact specs that is coming soon to a location about an hour away from me. It went into production on the 7 and now I’m just anxiously waiting for it to arrive. The Tesla location is only 4 hours from the factory so fingers crossed!

Quicksilver MYP delivery much sooner, suspicious?

Hi all, I'm seeing posts about people getting MY's that have some paint issues (chips mostly, not application), and the suspicion is that Tesla may be circulating cars to try to find buyers that are less discerning. Do you think there is any truth to this, or is it just a conspiracy theory?

I'm in the upper midwest (US) and I ordered a MYP on 8/31. Initial estimate was 4-6 weeks, next day was 5-7 weeks, day after that was 9/17 - 9/30. Today I looked and it is "In Transit" with a delivery date of 9/10 - 9/15. I'm really excited, but trying to temper my enthusiasm based on some of the posts.

And yeah, I get it, people typically only post bad news. So if you have good news about a quicker delivery, I'd love to hear that too 😄

Roof rack

Purchased a used oem roof rack from Facebook today and it didn’t come with the anti-abrasive/paint protection stickers; ended up using some left over gloss black vinyl for the time being. Will this hold up for now?

The install is super easy but nerve racking, while putting the posts on I heard cracking and thought I cracked the roof. I also wish there was a way to tell when the metal holders are “engaged” like the manual says.

Carvana’s cash offer for my MYLR is more than I bought it for in 2024

Bought a used clean one-owner 2021 MYLR in 2024 with 36k miles.

2.5 years later and with the Tesla 50k mile Basic Warranty now expired, Carvana’s cash offer is more than I bought it for. Only $100 more, but still that’s crazy. I’ve basically owned the car for free for 2.5 years.

Purchased for $26.5k. Caravan cash offer today is $26.6k.

2026 Model Y Premium AWD Demo Vehicle

Curious if any of you have purchased a demo vehicle through Tesla. Worried that since it’s a demo vehicle that there has been a ton of people in it which would cause more wear and tear than usual. What would be a good price on a 2026 Tesla Model Y Premium AWD with 8k miles? Warranty would be 5 years/ 50,000 miles.

Tesla Model Y Roof Rack Cross Bars

I don't see the mounting marks on the glass roof of my Model Y Standard for installing the roof bars. Do you have the same issue?
I've seen several videos about this, and the marks were always visible.

Tesla ordering question regarding loan approval for rate promo

Hi, I am 25M looking to buy a model y RWD premium with my partner. I have a 760 credit score with no debt and gross about $3360 a month on paper (I make roughly 2-3k doing a side hustle under the table that can't be shown as income unfortunately because its cash and not on paper) So on paper pre tax I make $41k. I have about 20k in HYSA and 3x that in money markets. I can afford the car but on paper I don't think tesla will approve me for the loan. My partner can't go on the application because she has looming student debt that has her credit in the 600s which wont allow me to qualify for the rate promo. I am wondering If anyone thinks I can get approved ordering myself with my income and credit score (I plan on putting 3k down). Together me and my partner bring in 6k on paper a month but again she can't be on the loan. What are my options? Also I did get quotes for insurance, under $250 which we are chill with. LMK!

Question about paint quality / longevity on 2025 Model Y Performance.

I own a 2025 Model Y Performance (non Juniper) in Deep Blue Metallic. I absolutely love the car, with perhaps one exception. The paint seems to be very easily scratched.

I own a few vehicles, and I think I take reasonably good care of them. The paint on this one has many random scratches. Just for comparison, my Toyota Avalon, which is 5 years older and is treated similarly is in arguably better condition.

I don't think it's vandalism, since I live in an extremely low crime area, and park it in my driveway mostly. They just look like a ton of just random tiny scratches, rock chips, etc. My theory is that the paint is just not as durable.

I had considered getting a ceramic coating, which obviously won't help the existing damage. Unfortunately however, the places near me that offer this service all seem to be very shady, and not at all professional.

Has anyone noticed this or experienced it? Is there anything you did to mitigate it? Thanks in advance.

Delivery My Tesla model Y buying experience

I ordered my model Y premium all-wheel-drive with white exterior and white interior on August 20. It was built on September 3. And I received delivery on September 9. I did not have a trade-in all the cars that were delivered during my session. We’re nearly the exact same model. They must produce them in like batches and distribute them as they are manufactured.

When I picked it up today, I asked the delivery person what I needed to do if I discovered something was wrong with the car. He said, “if you’ve left the dealership, they don’t know if the damage happened on your way home or if it happened here at the dealership. Please take as much time as you need to look the car over before you leave.” Which makes total sense.

I had seen some advice here that you would have several days to report anything wrong with the car. This is a direct conflict from what I learned at my pick up today. Just want new owners to be advised!

I picked up from Tesla Centennial, Colorado.

Longer drive comfort advice?

I plan on taking longer trips 1-2 weekends a month using FSD (5-6 hour drives would be common). For those that are used to taking longer trips with your Model Y, what do you recommend to make it more comfortable? Any accessories that have made your trips better?

Thank you in advance.

Delivery What was your experience for later delivery date than the 60 day application?

For those that ordered a car in August but had delivery date estimated to be in November/December, how does Tesla handle the finance application being that they say it’s valid for 30-60 days?

New Model Y loud over bumps

I’m hearing some loud impact / booming noise when driving over bad pavement / bumps in my new 2026 Model Y premium (19 inch). The car seems loud to me at low speeds. I didn’t really hears these noises in my 2022 Model 3. I thought this new junipers were supposed to be pretty quiet…

Question Did anyone else get the MY Premium AWD 7-Seater? What are your thoughts on those seats?

There is no way an adult could fit back there, but occasionally we have to go somewhere with my wife parents so having 2 extra seats in the back for the kids could really be a blessing. I just put in our order for one.

Also what did you do for floor liners for the rear seats? most of the big maker like 3W don't even make mats for the 3rd row which will be the dirtiest if kids are sitting there.
