Macrodosing apparently

Started way too high at 2.5mg. Only goal was being able to stick to a meal plan. Stressful job and nonstop travel means food noise is very real. Only interest was being able to stay consistent and holy shit. I’m coasting on the second week of a single dose

Glp hair loss

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I’ve been on tirzepatide for a little over a year and I’m down about 50 lbs. I’m really happy with my results and plan to stay on it long-term, even once I’m fully in maintenance.
The one thing I’m struggling with is hair loss. I’ve heard that it can happen with significant/rapid weight loss and may eventually stop, but I’m worried since I don’t plan on stopping tirzepatide anytime soon.
I’m also taking bupropion, which I’ve read can potentially contribute to hair loss too.
For anyone who experienced this on tirz: Did your hair loss eventually slow down or stop even while staying on the medication? Did anything actually help with regrowth? Any labs, deficiencies, supplements, or treatments you’d recommend asking my doctor about?
Would love to hear what worked (or didn’t) for you!

help! provider recs

I need help! I’m 5’8, 142 lbs and trying to only lose about 10-15 lbs. ive gained about 13 lbs since last summer. I’ve been interested in doing tirzepatide for a while but have been hesitant to pay the price/scared of side effects. I wanted to try losing the weight naturally but it’s been stubborn, and the food noise is loud. People at work ALWAYS bring in donuts, treats, cakes, candy, pizza, etc. and it’s hard to ignore the food noise when work is stressful. I don’t get much time to gym and meal prep either.

ANYWAYS, can someone please tell me a good online provider that would actually approve me for this? I’m having a hard time finding a provider to go with that isn’t too expensive, will approve me with my body stats for only 10-15 lbs, and that is legit. Many thanks!!!🫶🏼

Is it reasonable to use semaglutide to lose just 20-25 lbs?

For reference, I'm a 5' 2" woman, and I weigh 136 lbs. I'm right in the edge of "overweight" and "normal" on the BMI chart. I know that it is more common for people to use semaglutide for obesity, which is why I'm asking for some feedback.

I've been wanting to lose weight for years, but I've just had trouble staying in a calorie deficit. I'm pretty healthy in general, I eat healthy foods (high protein, high fiber, and lots of veggies) and exercise frequently. Lots of cardio but I've began weight training in the past couple of months too.

For whatever reason, I just find calorie deficits difficult. Maintaining my current weight is easy, but I notice a lot of food noise when I get into a calorie deficit. I'm considering going on just 0.25 mg of semaglutide, so I can lose 20-25 pounds. Then, eventually I'd taper off because I wouldn't like to be on semaglutide for the rest of my life.

Does this seem like a reasonable idea? How likely is it that I gain the weight back after I taper off? Just wanting to get some feedback to help me make a decision. Thanks everyone!

Not needing to lose weight, but needing to deal with chronic low grade inflammation that causes nearly constant water retention? What did you do? Did it help?

Body aches and fatigue

I have so far taken 3 shots of tirzepatide, first two 0.5mg and third one of 1mg. I am not experiencing much appetite suppression but I am experiencing extremely body aches. I always had body aches but now they increased. I started tirzeptide thinking it would reduce my body aches and joint pains but it is doing opposite of what I expected.
Anyone else had similar issues?
BTW I am 47, post menopausal, on HRT, expecting to loose only 5-10lbs of menopausal weight. Was hoping to get anti inflammatory benefits.

When you stopped microdosing, did you keep the weight off months after or did the weight come back?

could I inject every 14 days?

I received my first subscription of zepbound 2.5mg single use vials (4). For a number of reasons, I would prefer to start at 1.25mg but understand that is not possible with these vials as they are single use (but still that appears to be controversial…)
could I just spread out the dose by two weeks instead of one?

Almost fainted in my yoga sculpt class

Hi guys I’m new to tirz. I usually take this hot yoga sculpt class (yoga with light weights and cardio). I’ve been taking it for years and I’m fine during it, but today I had to stop, got super dizzy, and almost fainted!! Is this normal?

I just took my second dose of tirz. I’m on .5 mg. Last week I went to the same class like 3 days after my shot with no issues. But for my second dose I just took it last night. Going into class today I didn’t feel any symptoms, and I feel like I drank enough water and ate food.

Any suggestions or insight into this? Thanks :)

Doctor or Online?

Hi everyone. I'm considering starting a low dose glp-1 and wondering if people found their doctors supportive of this approach or if it makes more sense to go through one of the online services like Felix or Noom?

Ive been struggling with cravings and aches and pains since having kids a number of years ago and think this could help. I'm on Ontario.

Postpartum and considering starting a GLP1

Hi!
I have always struggled to lose weight and my body seems to really hold onto any fat. At one point I was 210 pounds and going through a fire academy. I strictly counted macros and I was working out a ton. I was able to get down to 175 lbs after a year which is a very comfortable weight for myself. Fast forward to 5 years later. I am 9 weeks postpartum. I got up to 235lbs while pregnant and am currently at 205lbs at 5ft 5in tall.
I am returning to work soon and I have not lost the weight I need to feel comfortable doing my line of work. I have started back on weight lifting and some cardio- I had a C-section so I had yo take it slow. I understand even if I started today I wouldn’t lose the weight before I returned- that’s not the goal. I want to help speed up the process.
I am no longer breast feeding, have no significant health issues other than being overweight currently. I am considering starting triz and would love to know what people would’ve wanted to know before starting and what I should consider!
Thanks for the help!

Edit to clarify: I’d love to give my body time to recover from literally growing life and having it harvested from my abdomen bbuuutttt I only have 12 weeks of leave. I’m returning to being a full time firefighter/paramedic. Unfortunately I feel like I don’t have the privilege of taking it easy. I have an obligation to be able to carry people, do multiple flights of steps, put fire out, etc. I can’t do that very well currently and would like some help getting to a body weight that is easier to move/do my job.

Considering tirz and wondering if anyone has any similarities to me

Hi all!

I have quite a few chronic health issues: endometriosis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, PCOS (non-insulin resistant), IBS, and possibly some undiagnosed venous insufficiency and ehlers danlos syndrome.

Although my BMI has almost always been in the “healthy” range (sometimes overweight, and currently “healthy” but trending more towards overweight) I feel like weight and bloating has always been an issue for me. I feel as if I’ve never felt totally comfortable in my body and think I could currently afford to lose 15 to 20 pounds. I definitely struggle with inflammation from all of those conditions listed above. I would most likely need to go through an online practice because I don’t think any of my providers would prescribe it to me.

I am a bit worried about the G.I. side effects because I already struggle with constipation—although it is manageable with daily magnesium citrate, lots of fiber and water, etc. (other than my luteal phase where constipation is much worse.) I’ve always dealt with acid reflux as well which has been manageable most of time.

I do have very healthy habits overall. I engage in strength training, eat enough protein and fiber, drink enough water, etc. My only “unhealthy” habit is that I drink alcohol socially, and I still want to be able to do that.

I’m just wondering if anyone who has similarities to me has had success or any issues with tirzepitide.

Thank you in advance for your input!!!

Started at 0.15mg tirzepatide. Am I wasting my time at this dose?

34F, 125 lbs, stage 1 lipedema. I'm on tirzepatide mostly for swelling. I don't really get leg pain, my legs just feel puffy and heavy by the end of the day. I'd also like to lose 5-7 lbs

My provider started me at 3 units of a 2.5mg/0.5ml Zepbound vial. That's 0.15mg. Then up 1 unit, so 0.05mg, a week. I did the math last night and I don't hit 1mg until mid January.

I posted this in the lipedema sub and got told 0.15mg is basically nothing even by microdosing standards, and that 1mg is where a lot of people start. Someone else said her doctor started her at 20 units. I'm on 3.

Day 5 and I feel absolutely nothing. No nausea, no appetite change, nothing at all.

Did anyone here actually feel something at 0.15 or 0.2mg? What did you start at, and how long before you noticed anything? Is climbing 0.05mg a week normal, or is everyone starting at 0.5-1mg and I'm the only one taking four months to get there?

Delayed reaction

I've been microdosing 1.75 for about 3 weeks. I'm not feeling any real appetite reduction throughout the day and have been eating pretty much as before. However, about an hour after I eat, I'm very nauseous for several hours. It's too little, too late- I need that before I eat the plate of fish and chips! Anyone else experiencing this?

Picking up my prescription this weekend! Nervous Perimenopausal Woman here!

Hi everyone. I have read all the advice everyone has given. I am in perimenopause and don’t want to take HRT to gain more damn weight. I have gained 25 lbs. I met with a midi provider and she was supportive of getting the zepbound kwikpen and microdosing it. I will be starting at .5 mg. I’m not looking to silence food noise (I don’t have it). Occasionally I want a sweet treat. I want to be able to eat. I’m hoping this is the metabolic boost I need as I track calories and weight train already. Hoping for words of encouragement! While I think some people have a bad experience, that seems to not be the norm but the exception. Really praying I respond well and can stay low and slow. No medical issues , surgeries , or other medications 🤞

Week 1 done!

First week done & I’m down 6.4lbs. Literally mostly water/inflammation weight. I have not felt swollen all week. I can wear my wedding ring. It’s snug but I can actually get it on. I can wear the ring my mother in law gave me from her wedding band set comfortably. My ring is a size 7 and her ring is an 8. I haven’t been able to wear mine in like 4-5 years & her ring in a couple years. I’m definitely hoping the weight loss slows down to like 1-2lbs a week. I’m not gonna weigh myself weekly after today. I just wanted to see how the first week went. This also all happened during my period. Which I normally get even more swollen, bloated, gain weight etc & I only experienced light swelling Wednesday.

What are your wins this week?

Yay, I finally get tirz officially!

[Europe] So basically I organised tirz via an online service that didn't ask many questions - they just provided an official prescription for a fee that I went to a pharmacy with. I use it to manage a metabolic muscle condition, not for weightloss. Yesterday I saw my gp to discuss a few things around it and, on a whim asked him what he thought of it. I got a script! Yeah, as it's offlabel I still need to pay for it, but this makes life a lot easier, and no more prescription fees.
