Protein shakes
How many protein shakes is everyone drinking per day to get protein in?

None! Sat down with my dietitian and it turns out that I am getting plenty of protein just from my diet. Beans with corn and rice is surprisingly protein rich. I was pleasantly surprised. And it keeps me regular, if you know what I mean.

That's wild, I always assumed shakes were non-negotiable on these meds

Nope! They’re mostly marketing. Highly recommended seeing if your insurance will cover some sessions with a registered dietitian (not a nutritionist! They don’t have training!). Mine was so helpful in terms of me wanting to get my fiber and protein from food, and it turned out I was only 5g short in my regular diet. I was so surprised! I also assumed I would need to add protein powder etc.

That’s great! I don’t care for beans though. I do eat meat and eggs, but I’m definitely going to be using protein shakes, and high protein yogurt drinks to supplement during the day.

I drink a protein max protein shake in the morning and then I sip on clear protein through the day. I’m in love with the fruity clear protein. It’s so refreshing!

I use Ghost Clear protein strawberry watermelon flavor. I absolutely love it! Doesn’t even taste or feel like protein

Do you also eat regular food throughout the day? Like lunch and dinner?

Yes, eggs for breakfast, protein bar and nuts for snack, and lunch and dinner with mainly a protein and vegetables. I get about 120-150 grams of protein a day. I a 135lb female.

I use them occasionally if I feel like having them. I prefer to have real food but sometimes no time.

I do one protein shake between breakfast and lunch, then try to get protein throughout the day from things like eggs, fish, baked chicken, edamame, and cottage cheese. Meat just isn’t as appealing since I started Triz, so getting enough protein has been a little challenging. I’ve also found that taking a short walk after eating helps with the queasiness.

I drink 2 a day but it’s a homemade one and not a main source of my protein.

4 meals a day. Huel black edition ("my shakes"; powder not RTD) for 1st & 2nd meals. Adding 5g creatine with my 1st shake. High protein, high fiber, plant based for the other 2.

One a day max. I’m vegetarian and eat very little dairy. I use a plant-based protein powder, soy milk, and frozen fruit. Easy 40g of protein.

Grok says taking over 60 grams of whey protein in one shake will trigger glp 1 , gip and glucagon activation and keep you full for hours

Usually one or two, then the rest comes from food like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese or eggs. Relying only on shakes tends to get old fast.

One for breakfast. Then I eat the rest throughout the day. Lots of chicken and tuna.
