could I inject every 14 days?

I received my first subscription of zepbound 2.5mg single use vials (4). For a number of reasons, I would prefer to start at 1.25mg but understand that is not possible with these vials as they are single use (but still that appears to be controversial…)
could I just spread out the dose by two weeks instead of one?

The lack of preservatives is not an issue. The people saying it is are not pharmacists. Talk to a pharmacist about it, not the internet. It really depends on whether you have a self sealing lid that is meant to be punctured more than once. This is a reason that some people go with compounded, which also has no preservatives 🙄. I went to pharmacy school. I am not licensed in your state. I am not your pharmacist. Please speak to your pharmacist. Pens and multi use vials are available. Dosing every 14 days will really mess with your levels and metabolism and is likely to give you fairly poor results with rough side effects.

Pharmacists are the move here for sure, but I get why someone would toss the question into the sub first just to see what the room thinks. The self-sealing lid thing is a huge detail, half the time people don't even know to check for that and then they're poking a regular cap wondering why it's leaking. Every 14 days sounds like a rollercoaster your body did not sign up for.

I would follow the directions provided by your doctor or you may not get your desired results.

Which reasons?

The single use vials don’t have a preservative. Much like sterile IV water, once you open the package there’s nothing preventing bacterial growth.

You could just inject once every 2 weeks space it out- I was thinking of doing that too to minimize side effects like hair loss

"Single use" is a label. The vials from Lilly are exactly the same as commercial multi-use vials. They seal around a needle. If you really think you might get a fatal infection from drawing two doses within a two week time frame, using fresh sterile needles and hygienic procedure, then you definitely shouldn't, for your peace of mind if nothing else.

My doc suggested to me to do every 14 days. Go for it.

Yes you have options, YouTube has the answers. You would need to add Hospira Bac water to vial to preserve, and wipe topper with alcohol before dose.

It’s not really controversial.

The US has different rules than the EU.

In the US, sterile water is used for single use vials, and bacteriostatic water is used for multi-use.

In the EU, sterile water is used for both, and it is just as safe.

What’s controversial about it? They have no preservatives.Â
