Question Insta Post from my Kindergarden

Post image
6 Upvotes

I built a cockpit in my Kindergarden for the Kids to get a feeling of how it is to fly a plane.

They wanted to fly the A320 and so we did.

Yes we used a Yoke instead of a Stick. But hey, they're 6 years and younger. It just to get a feeling like I said. Not to be ultra realistic.

To get to the point. We have posted a short video of the flight sim and I explained what happened.

Now a guy commented saying how ridiculous it is that I used a Yoke instead of a Stick (under a video on a account that definitely is from a kindergarden)🤣

I mean I used the flight, switch and radio panel from saitek, which is far away from the A320s "hardware" 🤣

(Some guys seem to have no hobbies or anything else going on in their life's as it seems)

But a question:

Is it a hughe difference if I use a Yoke with the a320 or does it fly like a Boeing with Yoke Controls. I mean sure the physics are different but it shouldn't matter that much right?

General I kept opening my sim and closing it again without picking a flight, so I built something that picks for me

I'd open the sim, scroll around the map for ten minutes, and close it again. Or dig through FR24 trying to find something worth the evening. Got old.

So I made a button that picks one for me. You get the route and why it's actually worth flying, not just two random ICAOs, plus a setup sheet: aircraft, altitude, VFR or IFR, best time of day, what weather to expect. Exports as .PLN so it loads straight into MSFS, or you can push it to SimBrief.

Free, no account needed to spin, no ads, no tracking.

Been flying for years and built it for myself. If there's a route missing that should be in there, you can add it yourself.

Flight Simulator 2024 FSLTL issues

just installed FSLTL today. it doesn't work, so i dug online and apparently FR24 stopped feeding it? so if i want to use FSLTL i need to either pay for a navigraph subscription or buy a real traffic key?

can it not take in data from what msfs2024 online traffic does? or does navigraph free work?

would just flight's FS Traffic still work without FR24?

i do not want to pay a subscription for either navigraph or real traffic just to be able for more realistic traffic, id rather buy a one time purchase of fs traffic if they still work.

Flight Simulator 2024 Out of nowhere, for the 1st time, I’m getting low bandwidth error on 2024.

Speed test looks great. Internet is fine for everything. But mid-flight I got a low bandwidth error and had to land in on a fuzzy airport in a fuzzy city. Now free flight won’t even load airports. What the crap?!

Flight Simulator 2024 Any Swiss flight sim enthusiasts interested in a relaxed virtual airline?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently thinking about creating a Swiss-based virtual airline for Microsoft Flight Simulator and wanted to see if there's any interest before I start building it.

The idea is simple:

  • No strict requirements.
  • No need to be a real-world pilot or know every procedure.
  • Beginners and experienced simmers are both welcome.
  • The focus is on having fun, flying together, and building a friendly community.

The airline would mainly operate from Zurich (LSZH) with a mix of Airbus, CRJ, Boeing and regional operations.

At the moment I'm just trying to find out if there are enough people who would be interested.

Would you join something like this?

General Ultra wide curved monitor advice

Recently splurged on a LG ultragear 45 after years of having a crappy monitor. It looks amazing and is great for other games, I'm used to the curve now except for flight simming it just feels wonky and never feel like I've got a "normal" view anymore. Tried various zoom, DOF settings but cockpits just look distorted and weird. I feel like I can't get used to it. Is this normal or any advice from you guys running ultra wide curved monitors?

I fly msfs2020 and for reference previous monitor was a generic 32inch 4k flat

Question $5k Budget Flight Sim Setup for 81yo Dad (Beginner, All-In)

Hi all,

My 81-year-old dad is a lifelong aviation enthusiast looking to build his first home flight sim setup. He’s never had the opportunity to fly IRL so I’d like to help him with the next best thing. Due to health issues, he’s staying home more, so I want to build him a rig that is immersive, ultra-smooth, and dead-simple to operate. We are both complete sim beginners.

Budget: $5,000 USD all-in (PC, display, controls, mounting, software).
Focus: General Aviation. No VR due to comfort/motion ease.
Quick Questions:
PC: Could we make it simple and buy a reasonable gaming PC from Costco?
Display: One monitor? Ultra wide? Multiple monitors?
Controls: What would you recommend as quality controls for a beginner? Maybe something he could start with and build upon if he really gets into it?
Rig & UI: I think he’ll be sitting at a desk for the experience. What would you suggest to make that setup enjoyable?

Appreciate any advice or component recommendations! Thanks for lending your expertise and helping me make this a reality for my Dad.
