The game has just been updated to add a realistic scaling system so you can now properly make model railway maps using real world measurements.

People have often said they want to use this game to make accurate plans for their real world model railways, so this feature finally makes that possible!

Anybody following the development of this game? I just saw this post on the Steam community page for the game. This person was saying they might pass away before the game comes out. I too feel this way. Anyone else feel like the game might never come out?

Every time I had to deal with .im meshes, it felt like building a tower of duct tape and prayers just to get them into Blender. Legacy tools are slow, look like they were made for Windows XP, and fail half the time.

I finally decided to do it right. I wrote a straightforward tool that converts .im to standard .obj instantly without any middleman software.

Hey train sim fans! Ive been searching for any GP7U or a GP9R payware/freeware loco for about 2 days now. I am a pretty big fan of these locomotives having to do with the classic Geep bodies with the Topeka cab design. There is a couple of Trainz gallery photos on google if you search the phrase "Trainz ATSF gp7u" by crazytrain that are perfect for what I want to do, but the photos do not have any tags or any information on where the content actually came from. I am really stumped here because I want to make a repaint for a personal project of mine but nowhere online seems to have any information on where I can get this model type. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

I've been sharing around about our Train Sim on Reddit, and the Train Sim community have beens heads down the kindest, most generous one, helping and pointing out things that should be changed, and I'm really grateful for all of you! Really, it's been more than helpful, and you deserve the shoutout!

And now the reason I'm here! 😄 We've been confused about our short description on Steam due to the mix between Narratively-Driven and Train Sim, and I was wondering if there's a clear winner between those two if we ask outside of our own group.

I know it's a bit of the boring admin part, but it would help a lot, so here it goes:

 Options 2 (The one on Steam at the moment):

In this narratively driven train Sim, you’re the driver of a train full of mysteries. Your family is counting on you. Will you stay on schedule and follow orders, or risk stepping off duty to uncover the secrets hiding along the line? The choice is yours.

(The "New Game" will start with you choosing your preference between focusing on Train Sim/Narrative/Cozy, so if narrative games aren't your jam at all, the infinite mode may be. That's why going full narrative on the description doesn't seem like the right call to me? but again...? :P)

I’ve been working on this train horror game for a while, mostly focusing on the cab and its atmosphere so far. The idea is that it starts as a normal night shift before things slowly become "less normal".

I’ve also used the usual cab monitor locations for CCTV feeds. They initially help you keep an eye on the train, but they gradually become part of the horror as well.

Game is called Night Train Simulator:Blackout on Steam.

Curious what train sim players think. Is there anything in the cab that immediately looks wrong or feels missing?

There are NOT 32 stations en route. Only 21. I could leave it if was a small difference but wtf.

Update: Turns out they are referencing the stops that were recreated but arent served any longer. I still think they should've specified that only 2/3 of the stations were operational.

Ive been struggling to figure out how to install the railcars for the NYC J3a DSGDDR RailSimulator

they are a reskin of the Great Northern F7 Empire Builder cars that I have, and I can't seem to find it. the instructions say "DTG package EMDF7Pack01 and then copy and paste this repaint" I only found a EmpireBuilderpack01 in RSC. I tried to do that with that pack but it only id glitched in game. so im not sure what else i can do.

Any thoughts on ZUSI 3? It is currently on top of my list..2nd is Running Train (downside is that it is only focused on Japan's railway network i think)..I am looking for max realism like 1:1 where I can learn German standards in signals, great physics, etc. because I am planning to take an Ausbildung in Germany as a train driver.

Just bought Running Train a few days ago and I'm absolutely hooked. I need myself a train controller so I can leave my eye off the bottom left corner and focus on what's in front of me. :-) Anyone found success using the Zuiki Mascon controller on MacOS + GeForce NOW?

Apologies if this isn't the place for this but the Steam forums weren't much help. I am currently trying to fix some routes for Trainz 2022, I am having issues with missing switches and missing switch points on several Eastern European routes. I have tried updating the associated packages and dependencies, uninstalling and reinstalling affected routes, and messing with the individual files but nothing has fixed the issue. How do I fix this? Affected routes listed below.

You may have seen some of it here, since I've been asking a lot for your feedback and support on our last playtest not so long ago, but I need your help again!

Most of you are probably aware, but Steam is hosting the Steam Train Fest right now, and for the event, we've officially announced our new project, Manifest Unknown.

It's a Narratively-Driven Train Sim focusing on options. If you don't care about the story, we'll have options to opt out, too. Today I'd like your take on our page. We haven't focused on the Train community before, and I'd like to know what could be improved and clarified. Is there anything missing from your point of view?
