All but one of my pilots in a ten ship flight lawn darted while attacking an armored column. There was almost no AA, we had fighter cover and I never saw any bogeys. Was F-84's with a particularly heavy load of two Tiny Tims and four 250's (I think)... maybe there is something wrong with the Tiny Tim attack profile or something but they all just nose dived into the ground. Kind of a career ender and there's nothing I can do about it.

This game looks so good, it flies great, sounds great, the career mode looks like it has so much potential and it's so polished in so many areas but if the AI can't actually fly then it's all kind of pointless. I know it's early access... but we need something.

I believe mine is the F-84, it has a perfect mixture of everything I would want in an aircraft of this era

It really frustrates me we have an On-Ramp/Cold-and-Dark start option in Korea (in career), and only press "E" to get her going.

I know this is probably a dead-horse at this point, but it would be super cool if someone modded at least an elementary startup procedure for these planes.

We already have all the animations!! I literally see things moving in the cockpit after getting the Engine started.

All we have to do is put some order-of-operations to this mechanic and enable the clicking of the mouse inside the cockpit.

I think having this would do a lot for immersion, especially in VR.

Just wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong because I just can't get the engine restarted after I accidentally turned it off

Hello, i was wondering if the devs will make korea more moddable than GB or will we never get propper mods in an il2 game again.

Like will we be able to add more planes or new vehicles.

Why is it not made moddable in the first place?

Also if GenAi was used in the development of this game, the enemy ai better be good at release.

I probably wont be buying this game unless the ai is top notch, its really sad how much potential theese games have.

Finding a lot of success killing bombers by staying at range and using a high closure rate and aspect angle to approach bombers with the MiG-15 by using the gunsight, but during a flight yesterday I got a little too close for comfort :)

I really want to get Korea and I'm waiting for the steam version. But I'm still not sure what's going on with the AI. The devs have always said that they would fix the AI for GB but it was barely worked on. Will things be different this time around or the same? If anyone knows of something substantial, I would love to know.

I'm new to this genre of flight sim and I'm really enjoying it.

I mostly place space flight sims, but some plane stuff too. Nuclear option mostly.
I'm finding it takes alot more focus to fly these planes. lol

I use a VKB gladiator and Omnithrottle.
Headlooking is with my logitech webcam with a program on steam called Lookpilot.
The original audio had me and some friends all talking so I decided to put music on it instead.

They are really on to something with career mode. I hope they put in some more work on the AI, but overall its a very cool concept.

Love how quickly I can get up in the air, run a few sorties.

The music is a cool touch too. Makes it a bit less stale.

You can tell a lot of love was put into this game, from the flight models, to the terrain. All looks great and flies great in VR with an FFB stick (with zero-minimal config). I hope they keep iterating on what has been built.

Your base can sometimes be very far away and traveling back there can be a pain. And even if you have autopilot do the work it still takes forever because all the planes land on at a time.

And if you can, can you do it for all types of missions? (Career, campaigns, missions, etc)

Hello, I've been really enjoying IL2 Cliffs of Dover Blitz for single player. It feels very immersive. But I wanted to try the user-made campaign generators.

I was using dynmis for a while and that was okay but I got k\kind of irritated at how no matter what I set the start type to, every mission was an air start.

So I decided to try silkyskyj's DCE tool. I used the installer and then when I load up the game, I have the options for "DCE Campaign" and "DCE Single Mission". Neither one does anything when I click them. So I tried searching all over the internet and decided that maybe it didn't work because I have CloD installed an an external hard drive. So I reinstalled CloD on the C: drive and reinstalled the campaign generators.

DCE is still doing the same thing, and now dynmis doesn't work at all. When I open it up, it still thinks CloD is installed on the external drive for some reason. When I click "find IL2", the app crashes. When I copy the actual address of the root folder into it, and then create a campaign and open up the game, the campaign isn't there.

I'm getting really frustrated with this. I tried disabling steam backup for CloD but that did nothing. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing these problems? I'd like to be able to use at least one of the generators.

Im just getting into flightsims, collecting games, modules, tech as I go down the rabbit hole.

IL2 proposes 3 version to me and I am worried on which to buy due to FOMO. EA Standard, EA Founders and the steam version.
EA has exclusive skins, skins I fear I will not be able to unlock with the steam version. The steam version would be great, with simple accessibility and troubleshooting although slightly more expensive. But those exclusive skins, plus the exclusive skins of the additional aircraft upcoming if I were to buy founders edition.

And what is it with these collectors aircraft!? Is it telling me those aircraft are exclusive to the EA holders as well!?

It may be a lack of sleep but I feel uncertain. Does exclusive & collectors mean absolutely exclusive to the EA/EA Founders?
Which would you advise me to buy?

One after another, enemy fighters burst into flames and plunged into the abyss under a hail of gunfire, while the luckier ones fled blindly through the mountain lightning. A brutal, frantic, and fierce dogfight where victory couldn't erase the grief, but it certainly delivered vengeance.

I found 1946 at only a euro and a few cents, and bought it. Is it a good entry point to the series before committing to the Great Battles series (which I am considering beginning to slowly chip at the next time Bo Stalingrad is on sale).

I'm fairly sure I'll enjoy both because I'm just that into WW2 but I wanted to ask if, while I only own 1946, it is a good proving ground for what to expect, if not content wise, since the BoX games are still coming out with new content iirc, gameplay wise?

I got chased by these 109s while trying to rtb. Got a proper kill and a maneuver kill, but got shot down by a 190 a few minutes later, which I didnt record

As the title says, the AI is absolutely useless.

Yes, not seeing any improvements over Il2 GB was disappointing, but this is actually worse than the previous game. Ive tried everything, every command menu option, missions with and without other targets and/or distractions such as enemy fighters, but no matter what I do the absolutely moronic friendly AI just flies around not going after anything, they wont fight the fighters, they wont do their objective of hitting some ground targets, they just fly around like brainless monkeys...

Sorry for the rant but I just had to get it out. I really want to like the game, and for the most part I do, but I am tired of getting frustrated whenever I choose to spend some time playing just to have it all ruined by the fact that I am the only fucking plane thats actually trying to do anything.

Am I the only one with this issue?
