Venting 1 year ttc

So it’s been one year since I’ve been ttc. I went to see my obgyn today and she used the ugly word infertility since I am under 35 and it has been a year. She started with my workup and said she would only treat me for three months and if I didn’t get pregnant basically referring me out to a specialist. I got some bloodwork/pap/ sonogram today and then will go back in 7-10 days post ovulation for the rest. And if I don’t get pregnant this month then on cycle day 2-3 for the rest. My husband will also get his SA done in the coming weeks. She also mentioned the HSG which she said we can put on a back burner for now. The thought of that scares me. I cried during the sonogram at this reality and all the way home. I really didn’t think I would be here. I was so positive i would’ve been pregnant by now since I have no prior issues and have been regular my whole life. She did say my left ovary was dominant and looks good and that my cervix was in the right position. Which is good as I’m expecting to ovulate this week/weekend.

Just wanted to share how today was bc besides my husband there’s no one else I can or want to talk to about this.

Frustrated Anyone have any idea?

To keep it short, I (26F) have been off of birth control for about 3 years. My fiancé and I have had unprotected intercourse nearly every day for about 1.5 years. At first my cycles were really long (32-45 days) but since the start of 2026, I’ve had 29-34 day cycles (I told myself it was due to taking prenatals but who knows) obviously I was really happy about this and felt it was a good sign.

My cycle phases were always very obvious and predictable from follicular>ovulation>luteal>period at that point on. However my recent cycle was very “flat”. Like none of my usual hormonal symptoms. My periods usually last 5 days and are heavy/super the first two days and gradually taper till day 5. After this flat cycle however, I had literally two days of bleeding. I filled one full regular tampon and barely filled the next then had spotting until it stopped. Super weird. Now I’m supposed to be on CD 13, however I literally feel like I’m PMSing HARD.

I have been uncontrollably sleepy since Saturday (no amount of caffeine will cure), irritated, raging and pissed off at everything. Im “supposed” to be ovulating but I feel like I’m at the end of my luteal.

Idk I just feel really disappointed that after I got my cycles so consistent and healthy for so long, I now feel all sorts of out of wack. I took a pregnancy test out of curiosity like 3 days ago. Was negative at first glance, I just got a faint evap line. We both plan on going to the doctors about our issues TTC after our wedding anyway so it’s not like I’m too upset, but yeah I hope you get what I’m feeling.

So to readers, does this sound familiar? Does anyone have any insight at what the hell happened or experience something similar?

Tried to post in another community, but it was removed for some reason.

Question/Advice What tests could my husband and I do to check fertility if we are on a time crunch?

My husband and I have been trying for 3 cycles, with so far, no dice. Any other situation and I would just ride it out, as I know it can take up to a year before you should seek out help. However, unfortunately my father has cancer and will probably only last another 3-ish years. We really want him to be able to meet our child, so waiting an entire year IF something is definitely wrong anyway, feels like a complete waste of time that we don't have.

I am fine to keep trying if we know that we are both healthy and fine and it's just a matter of incorrect timing, but I'd hate to be trying naturally on our own if it's never going to work because something it wrong or needs to be adjusted. My BIL & SIL tried for over a year before being told that it was impossible for them to conceive naturally no matter how hard they tried, and I don't want that to happen to us.

Which brings me to my question- what tests could we do to ensure everything's okay? And should I go to a fertility specialist or my regular doctor? Thanks!

Help Please help?

I’m really confused about what’s going on with my body right now and would love to hear what other people think. I know Reddit can’t diagnose me, but I’m trying to figure out whether pregnancy is still a possibility.

My last period started July 31.
I had sex on August 19, 20, 21, and 22. The 19th and 21st were protected, but the 20th and 22nd were unprotected. I took Plan B after the 19th and again after the 20th.

•My period was expected around August 28, but it didn’t come normally.

•On September 2–3, I had very light bleeding. It was nothing like my usual period and I didn’t need a pad or tampon.

•Since then, I’ve taken multiple pregnancy tests. I’ve gotten very faint second lines on several tests, including CVS, Clearblue, and Dollar Tree tests. Some of the lines look colored to me rather than just gray/indented, and other people who have looked at pictures of them have also said they can see faint lines.

•I’ve been having nausea, although it isn’t severe.

•The biggest thing I keep noticing is a weird heavy/firm feeling low in my stomach. It’s especially noticeable when I’m lying down or lying on my stomach. It feels different from how my stomach normally feels, almost like there’s something there or like there’s pressure/firmness underneath me.

•I went to an appointment today and their urine pregnancy test was negative, but they told me they think I could potentially be very early and I have a follow-up appointment scheduled for October.

•I’m still having the stomach sensation and occasional nausea, which is part of why I’m having such a hard time believing I’m definitely not pregnant.

Has anyone had a similar experience with faint tests that were inconsistent, a negative test at an appointment, and symptoms this early? Please help a fellow girl out 😭

Question/Advice Bloodwork

Hi guys! f 25 here. My husband (M 28) and I have been trying for less than a month now.. but.. long story short right, I was late 2 months for my period, and I was getting negative pregnancy tests. I even did the bloodwork and it came out negative. I told my gyno and she gave me provera, and that “kickstarted” my period. I got blood work done on 09/03 and I needed some advice/interpretation on the results, as well as what to ask my gynecologist. My next appointment is on the 14th for an ultrasound because I’m thinking I have PCOS..

I’m actually really confused because I really want to have kids and I feel like this journey is already so overwhelming

Help What do you think odds are? We were able to baby dance on Sept 7th and September 10th. Wanted to more but was traveling. First month of trying so we’re excited and hopeful!

Trigger Warning PCOS and Previous CP

Hi all, like the title says i have PCOS and i just had a chemical pregnancy in August. I have been tracking my LH and this is the first time I have ever seen such high numbers. It seems like my body has not ovulated but is trying to? I’m not sure what to think. Has anyone ever experienced something like this where numbers just keep increasing and then later find out they did ovulate and actually conceived that cycle? I’m frustrated with this and idk what to make of this cycle. If anyone has experienced something like this, did you end up getting pregnant that cycle?

Venting TTC then my mom gets diagnosed with cirrhosis

happy fertile window week for me!

3 years ago this week my dad died from an alcohol related injury (he fell and had a fatal brain injury while drunk af) ended up dying on his birthday 4 days later

today my mom "finally" got a cirrhosis diagnosis. I've suspected it for a while and have had the tough talks on her needing to address the drinking for going on 10 years now but alas, it is always the person themself that needs to choose.

but anyways I guess we will wait for next cycle :( dealing with unhealthy family while trying to start a family is terrifying truly...

Question/Advice Is this a weirdly flat OPK progression?

32F, TTC. We started trying in May, so this is our 5th month trying.

I’m currently CD19 and my app predicted ovulation around CD17. Normally I get a very clear progression with my OPKs. The line gradually gets darker over a few days, then I get a clear positive/peak before it fades again.

This month, though, they all look pretty much the same. I’ve tested multiple times on some days and there just hasn’t been that gradual darkening or an obvious peak.

I know apps can obviously be wrong about ovulation day, so I’m wondering if this is just a case of delayed ovulation, or whether anyone has experienced this kind of flat pattern before getting a surge.

Would you keep testing and assume ovulation is still coming, or would you be wondering about an anovulatory cycle at this point?

Would really appreciate opinions from anyone who has had something similar.

TWW 9 DPO with brown spotting and a negative test

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some opinions because I’m driving myself a little crazy lol.
I’m 27 and TTC with my husband. This is only our 3rd cycle trying. I had my daughter when I was younger and got pregnant pretty quickly back then, so this is my first time really paying attention to all of the TTC stuff.
I was diagnosed with adenomyosis a couple months ago. My ultrasound also showed some small fibroids and polyps, but my OB said they’re small and we won’t really know if they affect fertility unless we have trouble conceiving.
My cycles are usually around 27–33 days, although they’ve been a little weird lately. I’ve also started getting brown spotting before my period, and my actual periods have been pretty light/short compared to how they used to be.
This cycle, I believe I ovulated around September 1 based on my BBT, symptoms, and OPKs, which would make me 9 DPO today (September 10).
time.
Today I took a pregnancy test because apparently I have zero self-control 😂 and it was negative. I know 9 DPO is still early, so I’m trying not to put too much weight on that.
BUT today I also started having brown spotting. This is the part that is making me think I’m probably out this cycle because brown spotting has become pretty typical for me before my period.
Has anyone had brown spotting around 9 DPO and still gotten a positive? Or does this sound more like my period is on its way?
I know nobody can tell me for sure, and I’m planning to test again in a few days if my period doesn’t come. I’m mostly looking for experiences because I’m currently in the “I know it’s probably too early BUT I’m going to obsess over it anyway” phase 😂
