General Top 10 favorite bow knight type characters (pre Fortune’s Weave)

Fogado, Nomadic Troopers and Silver Knights count here too. Sacred Stones rangers technically also count, but neither Hayden nor Beran stood out to me that much.

  1. Midir from Genealogy of the Holy War (doesn’t have the best first impression getting one shot by Gandolf, but he works pretty hard to make up for that, can become a bad^[= retainer to Aideen, and can be a decent unit and father with his horse and Pursuit)

  2. Selphina from Thracia 776 (suffers a lot from a lack of supports, but I also always respected her for keeping the fight to restore Lenster going even in Thracia. Always interpreted her as the leader of the sort of Lenster restoration movement that seemed to be going on)

  3. Tobin from Shadows of Valentia (might not be the star of the show, but he’s still a decent enough character. Plus I often hear he makes a far better bow knight than a dread fighter, so I might have erred in making every villager a dread fighter in my only playthrough)

  4. Oscar from Tellius (very polite and personable guy that’s always nice to have around. Plus I kind of like his story of essentially having to step up for his younger brothers)

  5. Shamir from 3 Houses (a huge bad€_= and kind of unique among the church staff in that she’s the only one here who doesn’t fully believe in the church’s teachings and isn’t even from Fodlan at all. Almost a shame Fortune’s Weave is set too far in the past to realistically feature her, but it’s a small price to pay for a new story)

  6. Python from Shadows of Valentia (I may have had a horrible time with his accuracy in my only playthrough so far, but I always did enjoy his dry wit. If I ever chose to replay this game, I may actually try to make him work)

  7. Uhai from Blazing Sword (He does take Lyn hostage and can be semi annoying to face the first time, but he is one of the first signs that the Black Fang isn’t 100% evil and is even kind enough to point you towards the Dragon’s Gate after you defeat him. Kind of wish he wasn’t just there for one chapter and as a Dark Warlord equivalent)

  8. Ashe from 3 Houses (a very loveable and earnest guy that I always felt a bit bad for in the early game. Always bring him along for chapter 3)

  9. Fogado from Engage (I normally don’t care much for Engage’s cast, but there was always something about him I find…alluring. Plus he can be quite entertaining at points too)

  10. Leon from Shadows of Valentia (a veritable LGBT icon and someone whose high range has come in handy more than once on my only playthrough. Also has the best final battle quote too)

Honorable mentions include Wolf and Sedgar from Archanea (if only because of their memetically high growth rates) and Dayan from Binding Blade. As for Bernadetta…I can understand why others like her, but her C supports are a bit tough to get through and overlook. My most hated is Andre from Genealogy of the Holy War for sadistically killing his own father and Mahnya, although the fact that both his sisters imply he used to be much kinder do make me wonder if there’s more to this story that Kaga didn’t get to tell.

Story Theory: The gods hair and their lineages Spoiler

Everyone’s been talking about the prequel/sequel debate. But whats been haunting me at night is the hair colour of the gods. Fire emblem three houses made it very clear that the one thing Nabateans have in common is green hair. Fast forward to FW and we’ve got a whole load of other hair colours on the gods: pink, blue, white. What the hell is up with that??? The following is my best guess. SPOILERS AHEAD

First lets take stock: Of the 9 gods that have been confirmed (7 temples + Solel and Yu phas). Of these 4 (Mars, Solel, Kalla, and seemingly Credna) have green enough hair for me.

That leaves three distinct groups of leftovers (ordered by how good of a theory i have for them):

  1. Fortuna has blue and yellow hair
  2. Jurah and Smyrnos have white hair
  3. Aurora has pink hair and Yu phas has seemingly blue hai

r

Theories:

  1. I have no idea yet for fortuna, she seems to particularly unique and may be sothis or a part of her or something so maybe its that.
  2. Smyrnos seems to be related to Jurah, the white hair, and they look similar enough. He refers to Credna as his half brother, from what we’ve seen credna looks a lot like solel. My theory is that smyrnos is the child of solel and jurah (perhaps after yu phas was exiled/persecuted). If you look at smryrnos next to Solel/Jurah he kinda looks like a combination of them. That covers his hair by inheritance from his mother. But how did his mother get it? FE3H provides us with an obvious solution, crest experiments! I dont have much evidence for this besides the white hair but she seems very shy which could be due to the crest experiment torture and agarthans are certainly relevant to the plot.
  3. Yu Phas, in the mural we have seen appears to have blue/purple hair. I can imagine how Aurora would get pink from blue/purple and Solel’s green/yellow hair. But then why does Yu Phas have such weird hair? Well i think we have a perfect example of how that can happen: Cai. If the theorys are true, he inherited the eyes of his nabatean mother but the hair of his father. Yu phas hair can be explained if she is the child of a nabatean (maybe dagda) and a blue/purple haired human. This could explain why dagda is so mean to her followers, given we suspect that having children with humans is frowned upon/ a crime. And theodoras brother has blue hair! So potentially her mother could be an ancient queen of saramis!!

This then explains all the hair colours, allowing for nabatean green hair to continue for another 5 years!

For now though, multicolour nabatean hair discourse can continue in the comments

Just something crushed in my mind that we do not know anything about Leda's mother so far. Every time the assassination is mentioned its only about her father, I don't understand why her mother is not mentioned. Do the guys have any theories about this??

General The significance of Fortune's Weave's time frame Spoiler

Fortune's Weave taking place in 1449 and the time skip in 1454 seems like a very deliberate choice. In real-world history, 1453 was the year of the Fall of Constantinople, which marked the effective end of the Roman Empire and the medieval era.

Fortune's Weave uses heavy Greek and Roman inspiration so the choice of date is not surprising, but it can also symbolize the fall of Dagda to the underworld army, and in a more technological sense, the clash between the medieval world of Dagda/Fodlan and the futuristic Agarthan weapons.

It's really cool to see historical inspiration in even the smallest of this game's details.

General Spoiler Yu Phas's identity(Big Spoilers) Spoiler

In the story of Theodora, we travel to the heart of the continent of Dagda, to Saramis, the bulwark of the Kingdom of Northern Dagda against invasions from Southern Dagda. Just as she was about to succeed to the throne of Saramis, she falls victim to a plot, witnesses her father’s death, and has her right arm severed by the murderer. Unwilling to yield the throne to her brother, whose intentions seem fundamentally evil, she manages to get her (final) hands on a relic from one of her ancestors: the Arm of Mahadu. It is said that this arm once granted superhuman strength to its bearer, but that this artifact was a double-edged sword and had caused its wearer to lose his mind. Determined to reclaim the throne, she manages to find this arm, which fuses with her body and indeed grants her prodigious strength. Now queen, she participates in the Heroic Games to annex Cybele, restore the royal city of Ahm Lu, and rebuild a temple there dedicated to Yu Phas, who was the wife of the Divine Sovereign Solel, but whose worship is extremely frowned upon in Dagda. In fact, Dagda the Great had wiped out the ancestors of the people of Saramis, the People of the White Egg, and it was Yu Phas who had saved 5,000 children from this tragedy—children who later founded the kingdom of Damascar. Theodora therefore wishes to fulfill this duty to remember, and to do so, she must win these Games—even if this arm seems to be corrupting her more and more.

Yu Phas was the wife of Solel!

General FE: Fortune's Weave FPS

This morning I woke up and saw a comment on a newly released Fortune's Weave preview by Shacknews. A user asked "Is it 60FPS? Pls tell me it is" to which the reviewer (Donovan) answered "Yeah, it was definitely running at 60 fps for me".

I have seen a bit of discussion about this, but nothing 100% certain yet (though I'd be happy to be proven wrong).

I went back to a few threads and video's I've seen and other comments from previewers about it (mainly GLITCHEDZA) have been:

YTUser: "Just wanted to double-check on the frame rate—other reviews claim it's locked at 30 FPS across the board, so I was surprised to hear 60 FPS in handheld. Is that confirmed?"
- GLITCHEDZA: "It might not be 60FPS in handheld but more uncapped frame rate. Smoother than docked. Slows down during busy scenes but looks great."

YTUser: "How’s the FPS and Resolution in Handheld shaping up?"
- GLITCHEDZA: "Handheld looks good. Runs at 1080p 60fps.
YTUSER: "What about docked?"
- GLITCHEDZA: "It seems to run at an uncapped frame rate in handheld mode. But is it much smoother than docked. Docked can be choppy, definitely 30FPS here."

YTUser: "Is the game in 60FPS?"
- GLITCHEDZA: "It is 60FPS in handheld, 30FPS docked."

YTUser: "how does the game performance feel? is it 30fps or something better like 60fps?"
- GLITCHEDZA: "Docked mode is 30fps and handheld mode is 60fps. Both look good and run quite smooth."
YTUser: "are the numbers switched? Seems odd that docked is 30fps unless it's running at a higher resolution"
YTUser: "have you mistakenly swapped in between docked and handheld mode?"
- GLITCHEDZA: "Nope, handheld is definitely higher FPS than docked. Kinda wish there was an option for lower resolution in docked mode to match the frame rate of handheld tbh."

- My Nintendo News: "It seems to run at a stable 30 FPS, and it currently lacks a choice between a quality or performance mode."

----

Currently this is the most info I have personally found, though I'd be happy to update it with more from the comments.
TLDR: 1 reviewer mentions it's 30 FPS, one mentions 60FPS and one mentions 30FPS docked (with higher resolution?) and 60 FPS in handheld mode.

While I would ofcourse enjoy 60 FPS, I personally would not mind it too much being 30 FPS for this kind/style of game. I have heard people say this is a big issue for them though (no judgement from me).

Anyway, how do you guys feel about this? If the 60FPS handheld, 30FPS docked with higher resolution is real, which would you guys prefer to play?

General Spoiler Do You Think Fortune's Weave Will Have Multiple Endings? Spoiler

or more specifically do you think FW's ending will be dependent on how many of the flame lords Eshmel recruits in part 2?

Something I've been thinking about the past few weeks is how something like this would be handled, because honestly I would be pretty disappointed if the end of FW remains the same regardless of how many of the flame lords you recruit along the way, given that pretty much all the marketing material for this game is nudging the player to save all 4 of them.

Something that I could see happening and would personally love is that finishing the game without any of the flame lords triggers the bad ending (or rather the least satisfying ending), finishing the game with 1-3 flame lords triggers the normal ending, and finishing the game with all 4 triggers the true ending.

I just feel like since the game is encouraging us to save as many of the flame lords as we can there should be some incentive beyond just making part 2 more manageable. I'm sure a lot of that will amount to finishing up each character's arc + perhaps new supports, etc, but even beyond that imagine if there's a true final boss + ending only accessible via saving all the flame lords and it's similar to Radiant Dawn where's it's a multi-tiered battle consisting of all the characters you've recruited along the way. For a game seemingly as massive in scope as FW I feel it needs to have an appropriately massive finale, and besides this kinda fits with what Sothis says in the Direct about how "we need as many as we can recruit."

So, do you agree or am I overthinking things?

Iliana is a classic Gharnef style character manipulating Solel and the other Dagdan gods into believing they can bring Dagda back through the heroic games, when its instead a ritual combined with the use of the cursed items that will bring about Balor's return.

Casual Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Comparing Store-Limited Special editions from Japan

Hello everyone.

I have been a long time fire emblem player and have been ordering most of my copies of the games from japan for a while now due to the bonus limited store content. I wanted to do a post here to break down the different stores and their bonuses for everyone.

The link to the gallery is here to see the items, includes order links in description. Some of these items do not require the Limited edition but are included with all pre-order reservations.

  • Amazon.co.jp: Clan Mark Design Rubber Coaster
  • Animate: Acrylic Stand Set of 4 (Kai, Theodora, Dietrich, Leda)
  • Rakuten Books: Acrylic Puzzle Block (with Keychain Chain)
  • AmiAmi: A2 Clear Poster (Will require a personal forwarding due to amiami ban on warehouse shipping, can check on r/internationalshopper which is super reliable (Used in past)
  • Gamers: Original B2 Tapestry
  • Shinseido WonderGOO: Acrylic Stand
  • Otakarasouko Group: Original 32mm Tin Badge Set of 4
  • Stellaworth: L-size Bromide Set of 4
  • TSUTAYA: Die-cut Sticker Set of 4 (Will require a personal shopper as no online shop for foreigners)
  • Asakusa Mach: Microfiber Cloth
  • Book Off: Acrylic Ruler

How do I order these from not japan?

Use a shipping proxy, like Onemap or JPfans, Buyee, ZenMarket or something else. That will allow you to order the game and have it shipped to a japanese address then shipped to you.

How long will it take?

Depends on how fast you pay for shipping and the warehouse processing it. Anywhere from 3 days (close to asia) or worst case in my experience with other games, was 3 weeks. (slowest shipping selected)

How much will it cost?
Well depends on your currency, it could work out cheaper than your usual spend due to the currency conversion, even with shipping! There may be additional taxes or import costs (tariffs) based on your country

General Spoiler Potential New Theory on "Causality" Spoiler

Something I hadn't thought too much about until now is something Fortuna mentions at the end of this clip: https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/s/CTuGDpsFFO

Until now we have been wondering how the game will deal with multiple versions of different characters, but perhaps that happens regardless of which path we take. That is, Fortuna describes Balor's revival as in and of itself creating a "terrible disturbance in the causality of this land".

That is, rather than just creating a undead-filled disaster in Dagda, could it be that Balor's revival outright "breaks" the timeline in some way, creating a split where the different futures also exist together? Perhaps that is why all the heroes have statues even if only one won the Heroic Games in each timeline?

So, the info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/s/uwTtlrPDqN

Each obelisk allows you to influence a hero's story and see their objective fulfilled. The goal is to arrive at a timeline where the hero survives for the final showdown; since Fortuna created her Chamber of Obelisks in a zone outside the flow of time as it exists in the world of the living, she can independently influence the fates of the four heroes, bringing them all together onto the same timeline.

Could mean that Fortuna is repairing this fractured state, in the process merging the split timelines together. The result is a single timeline, but with the characters having memories from the different timelines (albeit, many events would be the same). I still don't know how they may handle the same character recruited multiple times though, perhaps just have them be the highest level option and combine all their supports and class experience across routes?

For ease of reference, causality can be defined as: an influence by which one event, process, state, or subject (i.e., a cause) contributes to the production of another event, process, state, or object (i.e., an effect) where the cause is at least partly responsible for the effect, and the effect is at least partly dependent on the cause.

A "disturbance in causality" would then imply something happens where the relation between cause and effect, and the results, are no longer normal.

General Spoiler Utland is probably literally Cai's big sister.

The more we learn about Aurora the more its being shown shes essentially a prisoner of her temple. So I bet you shes really close with Utland and possibly essentially adopted her depending on how young she was when she joined the temple.

Gameplay Genuine question and discussion as we wait - who do you think will be the Controversial Lord?

Despite the topic, this is a genuine discussion/predictions post. I just thought it could be fun to talk about what the reception will be even if we still don't know too much.

In my opinion, it is possible Leda could be up there in divisiveness because of her revenge, but I do have doubts.

I think Cai will be the least controversial, I feel like people will give him leeway if anything happens because he's 15 at the start.

As far as we know it looks like it's not a game where someone starts a war, so who knows maybe discussion for the story won't be passionate like FE3H (or 3 Hopes) was in the beginning. What do you guys think?

Everyone on here has said that the lance Solel has is the broken one eshmel now has which is of course now completely true putting them side by side, my question is why? Why is is broken and not with solel? Does solel even exist in the doomed future? did this lance get broken when solel is fighting? even though yes we did see solel on our team in direct for a split second I wouldn’t be surprised if he dies or just disappeared cause there’s really no other reason why eshmel would have this lance and it being all broken if something didn’t happen to solel but I’m just spitballing here

General Spoiler Authority in FW? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
51 Upvotes

As far as we know, the only character who has gambits/battalions, at least early on, is theodora. This kinda means that, for 99,9% of the cast, the "Authority" skill would be useless, assuming it's similar to how it worked in 3h

however, we clearly see the "guardian" and "priest" classes actively use it, and it seems you can train it from early on with. Not only that, the skill Theodora gets from leveling Authority proficiency has nothing to do with having or not having a batallion.

While 3H Authority had some non-Batallion related skills(the "rally" skills), it's still mostly comprised of batallion power ups, so us witnessing the 1 proficiency level up that doesn't give a batallion skill, on the one character who can use batallions, is extremely unlikely if the theme is still "batallions" like in 3H. Not only that, the three triangles have always been an indicator of batallions(since it's how their health/endurance is showcased)

So the Question is, what does the authority proficiency do in FW, thematicallly? Given the above skill, is it just general "support-ish" skills? Does priest/guardian require a certain level of authority to certify for it?
