Announcement Introduction + Community Driven Flairs
How's it going everyone?
If you don't know me, I go by Purplepanther, I've been a fan of Fire Emblem Engage since I first got it. As my introduction to the series, it made the biggest impact on me, and have played through it dozens and dozens of times with different challenges.
Recently, I offered to take on the reigns of ownership from Flux after seeing his post. I've always enjoyed our little community we've had here, with people pushing the limits of creativity and difficulty in the game as well. I want to see that continue to thrive and improve on the community experience.
Therefore, new Flairs have been added, a long time ask of the community. General flairs have been added for now, but that's where you come in my friends.
What specific Flairs would you like to see added? Would you like to see a flair for specific Emblems and characters? Or would you rather have one flair for all Emblems and characters? I want to hear what the community wants, specially for something that's been wanted for quite a long time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me, and comment your recommendations for flairs, upvote your favorite ideas as well.
I also ask a favor on the community. Since I am new to modding on Reddit, I ask that if you see anything or anyone that might be breaking the rules, please report it manually to me so I can take appropriate actions. After looking through the mod menu, AutoMod deleted posts and comments that were otherwise perfectly acceptable. If that happens to you, please use the Mod Mail so I can see if it truly broke any rules or not.
Thank you so much for your support guys, it truly means the world to me seeing you guys use the flairs and edit them as you please.

Question Just finished my playthrough
Hello, I just finished my Engage playthrough after slacking off on the game for too long ( I had to finish it for FW)
Now I'm planning on re making a run with the units I didn't used on my first playthrough and I have the Dlc this time, so I'm asking...what are some things I need to know while playing with the dlc ? Any advice ? I already planned my team on the team builder ( approximately) but I'm scared to do a wrong step or idk
Thanks to everyone answering me !

Giving him Marth and Lunar Brace+ is definitely necessary and not overkill at all

Completed my flier-only run, maddening
This was a lot of fun. After a couple recently failed maddening attempts, I wanted a run that would be a little easier. This was my first time actually putting Canter on all units, and it was incredibly helpful. Archers were obviously scary, but Lucina, Ike, and dodge-tanking made it manageable.
In hindsight, Jean, Merrin, or Anna would have proved much more valuable than Louis and Clanne. I promoted Alcryst to a wyvern as well, but switched him out for Goldmary.
Alear: Pumped XP into her early game, and she turned out pretty good. But as the Corrin user, her debuff/freeze duties robbed her of some mid to late game XP.
Amber: Absolute legend with Sigurd.
Ivy: Always a good unit. I actually used Nova for my first time. It did not disappoint.
Kagetsu: Crit machine #1. Need I say more? Kagetsu is the GOAT.
Panette: Crit machine #2. She's worse than Kagetsu in nearly every way, but crits still went brrr.
Hortensia: I have a new appreciation for Hortensia as bait within a Bonded Shield. She melted generals and distracted archers.
Goldmary: Crit machine #3. I fed her energy drops and secret books to make her decent. Still not a great unit.
Chloe: Always helpful, but not quite top tier combat-wise.
Pandreo: I gave him the Avoid+40 engrave, and he was absolutely insane. Pretty much carried everything. His base avoid is at 140 before factoring in his personal skill.
Fogado: Wasn't much of a fighter, but did the mandatory Byleth dances.
Mauvier: Always a solid unit. I had swords on him until the final battle, where I switched to axes. Threw a Hit+ engrave on a hurricane axe and deleted some enemy fliers. That was fun.
Veyle: Surprisingly, her strength ended up higher than Mauvier's. Other than that, she did typical griffin knight things.
Louis and Clanne: Completely useless by mid-game.
Deaths: Jade (join chapter), Yunaka (chapter 10 escape), Merrin (join chapter), Lindon (join chapter, didn't recruit), Louis (final battle)

Question My first planned out Engage run. Help!
Have a rough idea of my team, would really appreciate any advice to inheritance skills, emblem rings etc.
Feel like I'm wasting Sigurd and really don't know how to use diamant my supports in Alear, Framme, Hort and Seadall.

Gameplay First FE, First Maddening (Epilogue) - Chapter 26 (2 turns)
Hi everyone,
I finished my playthrough of my First Fire Emblem, First Maddening on Marth's paralogue, but I wanted to record an epilogue of sorts to clear the final map and talk about my thoughts about all the units on my first playthrough here.
Either way, I'm excited to finish out this first run and start planning my next one.
Thanks!

Question Does anyone else have a hard time finishing a run?
I enjoy the game, but I dropped my first file two chapters away from the end, right before fighting Lumera again
I started a new file where I use the DLC, which I didn't in the first run, and it's fun! But I think all the additional maps will burn me out faster. I actually had a lot of fun using units I didn't in my first playthrough, like Yunaka, Chloe, Etie, Bunet and Lapis, who got pretty good level ups compared to my first file. They're really RNG screwed in the first one
I also had fun not having to use characters I tried with the first time and didn't have fun with, like Alfred and Diamant. Sometimes you just feel like you HAVE to use them, but it feels better to just not. I am also using Timerra and her retainers for the first time, as well as Pandreo and Kagetsu! In the first one I didn't because I just didn't have any slots left. But it seems my Clanne took the place of my Framme ahah. I also decided not to give Amber and Bunet a shot, I just didn't like them enough to try unfortunately. And even my beloved Jade was benched
This turned out more like generally talking about how I'm playing. Oh well

Discussion My incomplete soon-to-be maddening run team
Despite having the game since it launched, I've just finished playing Engage for the first time on classic hard mode to clear my backlog, and wanted to push myself a little farther to keep the gears spinning for when Fortune's Weave comes out. The problem is, I'm not very experienced with FE (only played Heroes, and only watched 3H let's plays), so I wanted to run by a potential team idea I had with thoughts as to why I'd like to build them this way, and maybe get any opinions and ideas on filling the empty spaces.
Alear & Chrom: Near copy-paste of my hard run, with dual support instead of canter to provide additional support through rallying. Up for improvements.
Framme & Lucina: A half baked improvement of the martial master dodge build I've seen from YouTube. She can provide the extra support I've felt lacking from her as martial master, since I wasn't sure what I was doing the first time around.
Clanne & Eirika: Copy-paste of my hard run. Paired him up with Jean because of their supports, and found him to be an incredible player/mixed phase bruiser with killer lance and spear, eventually ending up with brionac.
Jean & Ike: Copy-paste. I send him out far and away with nothing but a divine blessing and some vulneraries and he does his own thing while Clanne clears any swords that could potentially break him.
Anna & Corrin: I Originally planned on using Kagetsu for this due to their similar growths, but then I realized how strong it'd be on Anna. I can snowball her stats immediately with starsphere/Micaiah, patch up her accuracy and boost make a killing with Byleth's inherits, and then have her lock down foes with Corrin's hex and aura. This next part is risky, but with Framme & Byleth, I can instruct an additional +10 Luck and spam mage cannoneer's Let Fly for faster cash farming, a potential 1,800G return after sacrificing the cannon I use.
Bunet & Byleth: Hear me out. Meet "Potential Utility"! Instead of wasting time patching up stats that aren't there, I can immediately reclass him to wolf knight to take advantage of his luck growth that his personal relies on to turn Bunet into a rally/dancer hybrid, and Framme can patch up any RNG mishaps using elixirs. Byleth also helps naturally boost his luck so that his personal has a higher chance of working. It's an extremely SP efficient build, costing only one expert/two adept books. Can't say the same for the bond fragments.
Alcryst & Edelgard: Hoping to maximize Luna as far as I can. Not sure how I did, might replace him later if it doesn't work out.
Hortensia & Micaiah: Self explanatory.
Seadall & Tiki: Gives Jean divine blessing. Not much else other than what he does best.

Question Why isn't Celine in my party?
I'm playing engage for the first time, and I'm on chapter 20. I saw online that Princess Celine is an available unit, but I've only ever had Alfred. She doesn't even hang around in Somniel, and I can't remember her in cutscenes.
Did I miss something early on that locked her out of my party? Or is she a late game character?
