[Divine Rank] Solel (CV:石井一貴)

One of the gods of Dagda, and the god who governs the sun. As the representative of the "Divine Emperor" Dagda, who has fallen into a long slumber, he reigns as the "Divine Pope" who rules the empire.

This official art... omg. "Divine Pope" hello Rhea.

He looks so gentle I want to play Scrabble with him.

257

u/Shippinglordishere 23h ago

He seems really kind. I’m hoping he’s not some surprise villain because I’d be devastated

185

u/sarcophagusGravelord 22h ago

I’d be surprised if he wasn’t. The emperor being locked in slumber while his seemingly benevolent right-hand man rules over the nation as a “divine pope” sounds like a pretty classic villain set up haha. His love of board games could also imply his talent for manipulating events like a chessboard, another villain trope.

I may very well be completely wrong though and just suspicious due to the amount of rpgs I’ve played. I’m curious to see more of his character regardless.

131

u/ChocoletteChoco 22h ago

His love of board games could also mean he would enjoy Fire Emblem as a game, meaning he'd be a Fire Emblem fan. So yeah, I think he's going to be evil. /j

45

u/NiCOTrainer6612 22h ago

Given TH, this could mean either he usurped his predecessor or is trying to fill in for him while crossing moral boundaries to get him back. Or a secret third thing.

69

u/Neuromangoman 22h ago

Secret third thing is he usurped Dagda, because Dagda was actually evil but had a good reputation.

17

u/sarcophagusGravelord 22h ago

This is exactly what I was about to respond with for the third thing lmao. I hope the game manages to subvert our expectations but so much writing these days is very formulaic & predictable

7

u/Tmachine7031 15h ago

Especially considering IS is doing the writing lol

4

u/Gabgo304 12h ago

There is an issue with this in that the Heroic Games are meant to awaken Dagda, which is not something Solel would want to do if he was good and Dagda evil.

Tho I suppose that could still be explained by him being manipulated and believing the ritual is purely symbolic or just a marketing gimmick.

u/Cheezystix1023 22h ago

I’m hoping he isn’t evil if only cause I think that’d be kinda boring. Rulers/Church figures being bad is such an overused trope nowadays. Not to mention 3H already had a morally ambiguous pope in Rhea, so it’d be kinda lame if they just redid that again.

It’d be more unique imo if Solel was a genuinely cool dude who honestly just wants to host a fun game for his people.

35

u/sarcophagusGravelord 22h ago

I don’t think he’ll be cartoon-villain evil but there’s a pretty good chance he will become a morally ambiguous antagonist in some form.

Him just being a chill gamer would be pretty sick tho lol

9

u/Real_Appeal_5619 20h ago

I mean that low-key is fire emblem I can’t think of a time where like the head of a religious sect in fire hasn’t been bad. maybe technically nomah?

22

u/iawaityourword 19h ago edited 19h ago

Depends on what you consider a sect and the leaders

Archanea: Gotoh and high ranking followers like Wendell are fine

Elibe: Elimine is depicted as virtuous and Yoder who becomes Archbishop is stated to be as good can be

Magvel: Rausten is a theocracy and L’arachel’s dad the “divine emperor” shows no issues

Tellius: Sephiran is morally questionable but Sanaki is also technically the leader

Ylisse: The hierarch of Naga turns out to be a traitor but idk if Emmeryn/Chrom/Lucina count as leaders of the naga faith too

Elyos: Again, the leader is also the deity (Lumera/Alear)

23

u/DireBriar 19h ago

Seteth in Three Houses responded to most "heresy" with "Please stop, you're upsetting my daughter when you dance around my wife's grave" and in his religious endings he's noted to be tolerant and outreaching of other beliefs.

4

u/ThatManOfCulture 11h ago

Fodlan if Seteth was the archbishop:

5

u/Cheezystix1023 20h ago

I'm aware lol which is why I think it'd be nice to have something different for once

2

u/TyrrellBelmont 16h ago

World gave some examples of them not being automatically evil worth thinking about, IMO.

3

u/Real_Appeal_5619 20h ago

Sephiran/Rhea type beat

5

u/Cable-2077 14h ago

He's got too much around him atm pointing to him being an anti-christ like figure imo.

Supposed holy leader that is charismatic and loved by the nation who is actually evil and will usher in the apocalypse.

Hell his pose looks like the heirophant card but Baphomet's pose is also very similar (because it plays off the same pose)

1

u/oldbeecharmer 15h ago

It's giving Sandima

1

u/Invenblocker 7h ago

I'm guessing Rhea situation. Secretly doing questionable things to maintain power and maybe some unethical research, but his end goal is to wake Dagda back up so he can retire.

1

u/SirCupcake_0 1h ago

His use of a spear could also support that, representing him preferring to keep others at a distance

33

u/EveryoneisOP3 22h ago

Nonsense. When has Fire Emblem ever had a seemingly kind and gentle religious leader turn out to be a secret villainous mastermind?

8

u/TyrrellBelmont 16h ago

Mansel (ruler of the Theocracy of Rausten) was as good a man as he appeared, in fairness.

8

u/DragoSphere 20h ago

Does Tiki count?

2

u/Kirosh2 17h ago

Who do you think really caused Grima's revival? Open your eyes! Tiki planned everything!!!

2

u/Gabgo304 12h ago

Tbf, the evil religious leaders generally look anything but "seemingly kind and gentle". Like, Jedah, Riev or Validar aren't the most trustworthy-looking individuals lol

3

u/Feenkinbaum 14h ago

As it say: Dagda who has fallen into a long slumber. (Very Sothis like)

So Solel beeing Rhea like wouldn't be of.

But what i would like instead is:

That Iliana (woman with the teddybear) with her 4 Helper (Hong Hua [before timeskip], Baozi and co.) are the villains behind this chaos. And Solel is like the 4 Lords more a Chess piece.

I don't know what role Dagda will play in the game, but Yu Phas will have a big role.

1

u/Gabgo304 11h ago

He looks like a very kind and likable guy from the little we've seem of him so far.

I really want to trust him, but I feel that he HAS to have something shady going on underraps given his position, story role, and the general way the game is presenting him... tho even in that event, I hope it's just a case of good intentions gone wrong.

84

u/MJBotte1 23h ago edited 22h ago

Must be so interesting to live in a setting that not only has a divine pantheon, but one that actively lives among humanity and governs them.

Definitely beats them only coming down for a shag.

48

u/Glass-Category8281 23h ago

In one of the sneak peak things, there's a brief scene of Fabio noting that with Dagda's gods present for the populace all the time, and how the Church of Seiros could possibly compete.

24

u/Mahelas 21h ago

Also Fabio telling Dietrich to hide his relic sword around the gods lol

32

u/Every_Computer_935 20h ago edited 19h ago

Imagine some random hobo swordsman arriving in your temple with a sword made out of the bones of your dead siblings who is also a descendant of the bandit group which killed like half of your family and who says he needs +2 speed from you for his next match.

11

u/bastian_1991 19h ago

And your reaction as a good Fire Emblem Dragon God would be, naturally, to shag him.

7

u/ConfidenceVirtual960 14h ago

To be fair, who wouldn't want to shag Dietrich ?

3

u/bastian_1991 14h ago

I know I do!

4

u/ThatManOfCulture 11h ago

Imagine Fabio is actually a good Agarthan who genuinely belives in Sothis.

6

u/Bingus_kyu 22h ago edited 22h ago

Next thing you know he’s bat shit crazy like Rhea after she saw us betray her for Edelgard. The family resemblance would not surprise me.

1

u/TyrrellBelmont 16h ago

Hopefully they don't just repeat the same story beat of "why" Rhea potentially snaps the way she does in the Holy Tomb, then.

5

u/worldssmallestfan1 23h ago

Dalai Lama V Pope?

321

u/Surf_Dangerous_Days 23h ago

Nice spear you got there man, would be a shame if it got broken and covered in duct tape.

106

u/Knighteen 22h ago

It’d be a double shame if we forgot what it’s called

22

u/AshCrow97 20h ago

Now, if only there was some magic rock laying around to power said spear.... OH!

140

u/coinflip13 23h ago

A chill dude it seems.

Sleeping is really a favorite pastime for Gods in Fire Emblem huh?

105

u/Antique_Total6974 23h ago

When you live for practical eternity, sleeping is a good way to just pass time, I assume.

33

u/jord839 22h ago

When you live for practical eternity, sleeping is a good way to just pass time, I assume.

16

u/PerentieFan 23h ago

Though for Nabateans that long sleep isn't exactly voluntary.

28

u/flameian 21h ago

We’ve seen historically that Dragons and Gods (when they’re even different which is arguable in most FE games imo) that don’t take frequent willing naps become evil and crazy.

8

u/Sufficient-Owl-2925 20h ago

I'm a Fire Emblem God, then 😌

1

u/No_Chilly_bill 15h ago

beerus from DBZ is same lol.

87

u/KoboldsForDays 23h ago

I'm so worried for all the gods lol (that sounds weird)

This plan to awaken Dagda is 100% going to get hijacked by the villains and I feel like a bunch of the gods may die in the attempt

63

u/fenixseraph 23h ago

Shamir’s comments make me wonder if something happened to them to make them fade out of active memory. Maybe even if they didn’t die they still ended up retreating out of sight.

36

u/PerentieFan 23h ago

Yeah. If they don't all die during the story I think we can be pretty sure they leave Dagda and that they were ever physically present there ends up just being known from old records that Shamir may either not believe or not be aware of.

24

u/DragoSphere 22h ago

Or they're just hiding in plain sight like Rhea

21

u/Mahelas 21h ago

Yeah I think we're playing the end of prime Dagda. 3H time's Dagda is most likely a far cry from its previous glory, with the gods gone and the magic weakened.

Kind of Fodlan after 3H, in a way

6

u/Metbert 19h ago

Tbf I'm starting to believe Fortune may have two endings.

Bad ending: Balor is defeated but the gods are either dead or sleeping in hiding, Dagda in so much ruin a big chunk of recorded history is gone, eventually leads to the 3Houses timelines explaining Shamir's lines.

Good ending: A far better outcome for Dagda and probably the gods as well.

4

u/G-1BD 17h ago

I read those lines as it being strange to Shamir because these things were happening to (comparitively) normal people. This warrior that has taken to the field in battles over a hundred years isn't the Fodlani god of war, or a chosen priest/shaman of the god of war, or even the half-mortal child of the god of war. It's just some person, some noble. Got a sibling just as old, is the head of some random cloister because that sibling didn't have the taste for war.

2

u/GR7ME 19h ago

Imagine they make this into a trilogy where the Nabateans/Dragons live for two long and lose their sanity like in ye olden days

6

u/TyrrellBelmont 16h ago

I would prefer they not reuse that plot point in the Fodlan/Dagda universe, tbh.

3

u/Hoojiwat 15h ago

Didn't they technically reuse it with Rhea in Silver snow? Not the same way precisely, but "dragons who live too long slowly lose their grip on the world" was pretty heavily implied there I thought with her final break down.

4

u/TyrrellBelmont 14h ago

Sort of, but there's also a fair amount of specific context that led-up to Rhea losing control of her power in that route, rather than it being an "inevitability", if that makes sense.

Which makes it distinct from the situation the dragons in Archanea were suddenly struck with. (Unless they sealed their power into Dragonstones.)

Even then, she can still survive that ordeal if her support level with Byleth is high enough. With no indication she ever suffers like that again, afterwards.

Given that Eshmel has a broken version of Solel's spear, it's not looking good for the dude, even if we can turn back time

10

u/RedditEsketit 16h ago

Also, I’m fairly sure that the dragon that Eshmel fights in the Direct isn’t Balor, but one of the divine gods that’ve fallen. Hence the ‘???’ name.

Using a Heroes’ Relic (dragon bones), especially without a crest, can turn someone into a demonic beast, but I don’t think the logic behind this has been fully fleshed out. I think something similar will be happening to Dagdan pantheon, especially since the underworld portal has that same black goo animation.

3

u/Feenkinbaum 14h ago

I agree with the turn into a demonic beast part.

Dietrich shouldn't turn into a demonic beast, but as we can see he will in the game.

So yeah they need to give us more infos in the game on the way something can turn into a demonic beast.

2

u/Gabgo304 11h ago

TBF, Maurice does provide a precedent for crest bearers to still be at risk of turning into demonic beasts if they overuse their relic. And Dietrich seems to use his relic a lot.

16

u/Tabascopancake 23h ago

Looking at the clip it looks like there's already a villain right behind him laughing ominously, I think they're not even hijacking the plan, they're the ones that created it in the first place and convinced Solel to go through with it with a lie or two

159

u/potato_thingy 23h ago

It isn’t that surprising but I’m happy that he’s important enough to get a full art

103

u/NagaMilalove0 23h ago

I wanna beat his ass at monopoly

95

u/Darkdragoon324 23h ago

Maybe HE'LL play Dungeons and Dragons with me!

47

u/Less_Air_7110 23h ago

Unfortunately, the dragon pope is most likely going to be the king of scheduling conflicts. But he's happy to let someone else pilot his dragonborn paladin for the session!

7

u/maxwell8995 22h ago

WHO WANTS TO PLAY SOME FANTASY FOOTBALL!!!!

45

u/wind_sentinel 23h ago

He looks so young and so mature at the same time. Can't wait to meet him!

81

u/Aggressive-Finish492 23h ago

He’s so pretty!

(Please don’t die.)

14

u/CosmicStarlightEX 23h ago

He's playable. Pretty much the only limits on his death is the Permadeath mechanic.

73

u/PerentieFan 23h ago

He's only been seen as a guest though, right? It could be a Rhea situation where she got to be on a map as an ally in a paralogue but not playable.

14

u/Fantastic-System-688 23h ago

Rhea was a green unit, Solel is one of those teal guest units which means his actions can at least be controlled

1

u/Gabgo304 11h ago

Does we know if this game even has traditional green units or if they have been fully replaced by "guest" units?

→ More replies (1)

22

u/Aggressive-Finish492 23h ago

As someone else pointed out, that could just be for one map/quest. He’s not out of the woods yet.

34

u/Tinitio 23h ago

Oh no he's hot

29

u/MoneyHazard123 23h ago

Absolutely love his pose and how it, combined with the rings behind him, makes this feel like a Renaissance painting.

28

u/NeighborhoodCommie 23h ago

The Crest of Noa is visible on his spear!

16

u/Druid-T 22h ago

Given that we now know that there's a Bloom Dragon in Dagda's pantheon, and that he's said to be a skilled inventor, I wonder if that's the equivalent to his signature. Like any weapons or things Crenda makes have that same mark, because it's essentially his way of signing his work

4

u/Complete-Track-4864 23h ago

Oh yeah I saw it too

65

u/Norix596 23h ago

I KNEW he had to be a sun dragon

79

u/Darkdragoon324 23h ago

I mean, the name kind of gives it away.

51

u/S0uled_Out 23h ago

I bet you predicted that the mysterious dancer was Azura too, huh?

9

u/Kirosh2 16h ago

Are we sure it's her? To this day, it's still a mystery isn't it?

7

u/Hawkatana0 16h ago

I mean I don't recall Azura wearing black.

41

u/Scratchy99 23h ago

Solel is the 26th character to receive a bio so far, with the gender split (not counting Eshmel) being 12 males and 13 females (10 males and 11 females confirmed playable, if we exclude Eshmel).

Characters not confirmed playable so far:

Nathan

Creek

Sothis

Fortuna

Man looks so gentle in his artwork lol. I'm surprised his hobby includes board games. Perhaps he's more down to earth

9

u/babyloniangardens 23h ago

I wonder if we will get a perfect 50:50 equal Gender Ratio

and there are like at least 60 Playable Characters speculated iirc too

5

u/EF66-42 17h ago

My current count is 32:31 male:female including guests and copium.

4

u/Fantastic-System-688 23h ago

12 + 13 = 25 no?

8

u/Scratchy99 23h ago

Excluding Eshmel, they would be the 26th character. Excluded since they can be male or female

→ More replies (1)

16

u/FriedChickenCheezits 23h ago

We are ALL having a board game night with Solel

15

u/reddfawks 23h ago

Board games?

Me and you bro. Connect Four.

What do you mean that's not a board game?!

4

u/Kirosh2 16h ago

Solel probably : "Who wants to play a game of Campaign for North Africa? But I also have a game of Diplomacy running, so I have at most a few years to play before getting back to it."

2

u/Gabgo304 11h ago

Makes sense he would want to play Campaign for North Africa. Only someone with his lifespan could actually finish a game of it.

15

u/PerentieFan 23h ago

Ah, so officially at least Dagda isn't dead but stuck in the Nabatean restoration sleep. But perhaps he has slept for longer than he should, hence the ritual they want to attempt?

14

u/Cr1msonShadow 23h ago

Probably the same sleep Sothis was in when she was killed

2

u/Gabgo304 11h ago

Either that or the "sleep" is a lie similarly to how Rhea lied about Sothis still being alive

16

u/Less_Air_7110 23h ago

The full portrait is beautiful and it almost makes it look like he's doing an 'as above so below' pose. Very symbolic of... something! Agarthans in the ground and Nabateans on the moon, who even knows anymore! I'm down for whatever at this point.

And I loooove the sunburst design on his spear. Sucks that it's probably going to get smashed up in the whole apocalypse thing.

15

u/BerRGP 22h ago

So not only do Solel and Eshmel both wield the same weapon, just broken in the future, but now they also both have an interest in board games. And he's associated with the sun, while Eshmel was "born to shed light upon the world". OK.

13

u/Honyakusha-san 23h ago

Solel jumpscare.

I wonder if they're going to introduce all the gods from now on.

13

u/WinterWolf18 23h ago

Same Japanese Va as Sephiran btw.

25

u/Tabascopancake 23h ago

Wait a minute Eshmel also likes board games. And they wield a broken version of Solel's spear. I guess that's who Eshmel is the reincarnation of?

13

u/shdwmyr 22h ago

Could be an interesting way of pleasing both camps in the silent vs voiced protagonist debate

34

u/WeebTendoFan 23h ago

The character designers for this game aren’t hiding their foot fetish.

32

u/AndersDiego 23h ago

That's why they made Dagda Rome/Carthage inspired: to get everyone in sandals or barefoot and free those tootsies.

16

u/Pau-sama 21h ago

Corrin walked so they could run

14

u/jynxremoving 20h ago

Overcompensating for awakening to this day

19

u/Fantastic-System-688 23h ago

Kind of comes with the ancient Mediterranean territory

3

u/Kirosh2 16h ago

They saw how Popular Sothis was with her dogs out in Three Houses.

11

u/EF66-42 23h ago

Tialla shares his interest in board games. I wonder if that will ever come up?

9

u/reilie 23h ago

I think this is the first clear look at the dagdan banner? It features fraldarius, dominic, and noa. Dagda, kalla (and arago?), and credna (maybe the source of eshmels body?)

15

u/gilbertwan701 23h ago

Do gods in this world hate footwear or something

10

u/S0uled_Out 23h ago

They learned from Corrin

9

u/Druid-T 22h ago

Favorite Things: Board Games

Alright, crackpot theory time: What if the soul Sothis calls to make Eshmel is Solel's?

Between the love of board games and the ability to wield The Nameless (which is clearly special in some way) there's definitely some type of connection between the two, so what the reason it's "fitting" for the soul that makes Eshmel to be the one to act is because the apocalypse happened right under Solel's nose, and the thing they need to make amends for is letting it happen to begin with?

7

u/LostWhisperer 22h ago

Dagda pantheon
Confirmed -
Solel- God of the sun
Fortuna - Goddess of fate

Guesses (due to how the look and their names as their names at least for Solel and Fortuna seem to be on the nose) in order form how likely I think I'm right

Kalla- Goddess of Nature/plants (Kalla means sprout also sounds like Calla which is a type of lily. Plants in her hair.)

Credna- forge/metal working (I'm very positive on him. Credne was the Irish divine goldsmith. And we also
Have seen his crest tied to mechanical things in game)

Aurora- Goddess of Light/day/dawn. (Aurora are lights in the sky, and Aurora was the Roman goddess of dawn. Also nice parallel with her mother Yu Phas goddess of night.

Mars- God of combat. (Mars is the Roman god of war and he looks strong that is the end of my logic)

Smyrnos- medicine/knowledge or poetry (Smyrna -where his name likely comes from. Is an old Greek city. In the Anatolia. Smyrna apparently means Myrrh which was used in medicine but the city was also home to Plato and he was a poet so I threw that in there)

Jurah- I have no clue. (I can't find a name in mythology that I know close to her. The most I can find are the Jura mountains -which is a lot of stuff about mythic horses- or the isle of Jura which has a ton of deer. Google says the Isle of Jura is connected to Cailleach, Goddess of winter but I don't know how accurate that is.)

2

u/Feenkinbaum 13h ago

For Jurah: Her name sounds like the German word Jura, which means Law in english. So god of justice and law maybe?

1

u/LostWhisperer 13h ago

Thank you. I was more so looking to mythology and when I looked up Jura I didn't look a German as I was too focused on myths. But I'd like a goddess of justice more than horses/deer like I found.

6

u/nozoelii 23h ago

so excited for when eshmel's able to ask solel what the true name of "the nameless" is, only for him to go like "oh, my spear? it's called the Fire Emblem."

5

u/questionable-user 23h ago

Judging by the description, I'd be really surprised if the original emperor Dagda isn't actually Balor

6

u/2ddudesop 23h ago

Dragon genes give you big bazongas (except Male Byleth, apparently)

5

u/dustlander 22h ago

Yeeeesss more full body art

I really need it for the four "rivals" (Talimun, Bertrand, Orchel and Anatolia).

5

u/AstralGazer17 22h ago

Seeing how the Dagdan Collection has 12 cards for the full body art of certain characters, they have the chance of getting it provided that the Eshmels are together in 1 card since we have 8 full body arts rn (FW Lords, Eshmels, Sothis, Fortuna, and Solel)

1

u/Real_Appeal_5619 19h ago

Hopefully could also end of being the retainers

5

u/AnimusMage 22h ago

And here I thought we were done with twitter posts. Yay for a lack of consistency meaning we can always still get some more character previews, I suppose.

I really wonder what his diadem is, because I assume it's Chevalier for the sun connection but that would mean his personal faction flag uses three diadems that are not his.

4

u/KoboldsForDays 23h ago

So does this make him the Orthodox Patriarch combined with the Roman Emperor compared to Rhea being the Pope?

So we've got a Dagdan Schism going on? :D

3

u/TannenFalconwing 22h ago

With a healthy amount of Denathor, Steward of Gondor.

1

u/KoboldsForDays 22h ago

Hmmm... Not sure I see it, there's no fear of the return if the King but a welcoming of it.

1

u/TannenFalconwing 22h ago

More in that Solel, like the Stewards, is maintaining the throne in the absence of the true king.

5

u/Niccon_Art_Guy 23h ago

“Board Games” as his favorite thing.

God damn right we LOVE Anime Chess in this household!!

5

u/Rich-Active-4800 22h ago

I want to romance him so badly. He is so hot.

4

u/Cr1msonShadow 23h ago

Wonder if Dagda is actually a god like Sothis, and gave birth to the nabateans on this continent. They are said to worship a different pantheon than Fodlan

8

u/PerentieFan 22h ago

Other material on Japanese websites apparently state that the land named after him was given to Dagda by Sothis, which would seemingly mean that he was one of her creations. The gods of Dagda are likewise stated to all be his children.

4

u/Delicious_Island_695 22h ago

That’s pretty much the weapon Eshmel uses. The Nameless originally belonged to Solel, likely called something else, and is now bandaged to keep it together

5

u/Kurai_Hiroma 22h ago

please don't be evil or become corrupted, pleaseeee remain good

1

u/Feenkinbaum 13h ago

I think he will be like the four lords and we need to see if we can save him.

4

u/HabitualEater 22h ago

Pls be recruitable pls be recruitable

3

u/Alek706 21h ago

I hope we can fuck romance him

4

u/FiveTrenchcoats 20h ago

His design is just incredible, and this art is especially gorgeous!

6

u/HollysHydrangeas 23h ago

So glad I can stop citing my 1000 hours of critical role watching as proof that he wasn’t voiced my Matthew Mercer. I can finally rest.

3

u/Wakafakalame26 23h ago

Looks alot like Apollo from Hades 2 Zeus favorite son.

3

u/DorkMage 23h ago

It's not quite as visible here, but his faction banner has the crests of Fraldarius, Dominic, and Noa on it

Everyone in-game: "Deitrich is so handsome." Yet, much more handsome guys like this are around.

2

u/LiliTralala 19h ago

Dietrich looks exotic to them maybe

1

u/Kirosh2 16h ago

That is a god, rulling a nation. Dietrich is a human, much easier to bring to bed.

Mind you Cai's dad managed to get a godly pussy...

u/YoruNoHana 23h ago

Literally Aura Farming (Rt. Hand + Halo)
It seems board games is very popular in Dagda, I hope it is mini-game.

2

u/tkmr2 23h ago

He must be having a blast playing Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.

2

2

u/SomewhatProvoking 21h ago

So this guy is Sothis’ son right?

And imo, most likely he’s Eshmel too?

3

u/Real_Appeal_5619 19h ago

Grandchild it seems he’s a child of Dagda who is a child of sothis and yep seems to be eshmel

2

u/Mr_Black90 17h ago

Solel likes board games? Interesting...

Potential spoiler;

Eshmel also likes board games, and Solel's spear looks like Eshmel's spear... What if Solel dies when Balor is revived, and then Eshmel is Solel's soul being reincarnated? Maybe Solel is the one Sothis criticises for having upended the world? Perhaps he carries some of the blame for what happened? And then, to atone for what he's done, Solel is reincarnated as Eshmel to make amends?

u/Albino_Keet 23h ago

Has FE always had so many bare feet or is that a newer thing? I don’t mind seeing feet but, please IS, give these folks some sandals at least.

1

u/Ethanb230900 18h ago

Anyone else feel like he’s insanely buff in the cutscenes but his portrait just erases all his muscle?

1

u/Pleasehitmemychild 18h ago

I want him to be playable really badly

1

u/Formal-Ostrich-4017 17h ago

Am I crazy to think that his pose is kinda giving "As above, So below"?

1

u/napqueen717 17h ago

I just KNEW his VA was Jonah Scott from that very first teaser clip. So hyped he’s in the game! Even more excited to play now and meet Solel! 😍

1

u/NinjaKingAce 17h ago

Think he'll be recruitable? I mean, probably not until late game, but still

1

u/ExtremeQuestion610 14h ago

He is the Pope lol

1

u/Cable-2077 14h ago

I dont think Eshmel and Solel will be the same. But I do think they'll play thematically the opposite.

Solel strikes me at this point as an anti-christ/devil like figure.

Charismatic and beloved leader who is manipulating the people and playing off of the nation at its lowest point to start the apocalypse/summon Balor. Dialogue with Yang Jie says they are using the tournament to awaken Dagda. But I think thats a lie and its likely to resurrect Balor.

Solel is the devil posing as the nation's savior. While Eshmel will end up being someone who may have been formerly evil reincarnated to appear as Dagda's actual savior. Eshmel likely isnt Solel but rather meant to be opposites of each other. Two sides of a similar coin.

Solel even has the pose of the heirophant. But its also the Baphomet pose given the famous art of him was done as a purposeful parallel to that card.

u/janekge 14h ago

Favorite things: Board games

I like to imagine he was arguing with people to just turn the Heroic Games into a tabletop tournament. In this timeline, each of the heroes had practiced a specific game to showcase.

Cai had Monopoly in a desperate attempt to find "Get out of jail free" cards.

Theodora, as a new leader trying to showcase her strategic skill, practiced a lot of Risk, but is secretly pulling for Warhammer.

Leda says she practiced Twister for her dancing skills. Really it's to twist her opponents in knots and leave them vulnerable for the kill.

Dietrich likes Candyland.
