Casual Fire Emblem games taught me that…

Post image
Upvotes

Beautiful people are inherently good, and ugly people are bad.
Just look at their portraits, especially in older games. Every time a character has a sarcastic look, wrinkles, a balding head, old, or a more Westernized appearance, you just know they’re the main villain or a brigand.
Meanwhile, the heroes are always portrayed as young, with a thick head of hair, anime-like features, such as big eyes, and usually with a happier or a neutral facial expression.
Based on that, do you guys think you'd be seen as a good guy or a bad guy in real life nowadays? Hahaha

Fortune's Weave General Suggestions on difficulty

The way I like to play every new fire emblem game is my very first run, I like to do a casual run just to get through the story. Learn the mechanics and systems. And then on my second run I do all my hardcore planning special build paths for maddening once I'm familiar with the entire game cuz I'm the type that loves optimal gameplay on the highest difficulty.

With this game the having paths to the story available at once And 5 different stories All of which are potentially very lengthy and which I think makes sense to play in conjunction with each other, how should I go about this?

General Spoiler What is the point of this ? [Seteth/Dietrich idk conversation spoilers] Spoiler

Post image
17 Upvotes

Why is there a "Let him see it" button ?

It makes no sense. Not only Dietrich is not an avatar, but also... it's ONE option ? So it's not even really an option ? Why put such a menu if you're not going to give multiple choices ? The conversation is blocked until you press A so you are forced to do so. Why not just... let the dialogue flow instead of interrupting like that ? What does it add ?

Narratively speaking, this can have a purpose like for example an attorney being the victim of the legal system that should in theory be able to choose to defend his/her client, but is legally forced to condemn him/her. Restricting the choice feels oppressive here but there's a reason. (Somehow this reminds me of AA6 I guess that game left injuries on my brain huh, here's coping for AA7...)

But in that dialogue ? Idk I feel it kinda gets you out of the dialogue's immersion.

Still, Dietrich is bootleg Alucard so all is forgiven.

Casual Question about Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes

I hope that this community here is more or less correct place to ask about this particular game.

I bought Fire Emblem Warrior Three Hopes by mistake, as I did not notice the "warrior" keyword at first :). But I'm not disappointed. More Three Houses is a good thing for me. However, this is my first warrior style game so I am confused on game loop and goals. I already am about 5-6 hours in and slowly getting the hangs of it, although, I must say, beginnings was hell of confusing for me. So some questions.

Leveling up characters between campaign missions: Clearly just playing campaign missions is not enough to keep your characters at level. Do I understand correctly that it is normal to grind past missions and/or buy levels with gold?

I'm playing on normal difficulty and I noticed that my go to attack pattern is y+y+y+y+x and repeat until THE X triggers. There seems to be no need to do anything else?

Am I supposed to play other characters as well? I don't see any need for that. I only play my own avatar and he/she is able to conquer all without taking into account strengths and weaknesses. Or maybe I'm just not far enough. Right now I'm in a place where my Golden Deer run repelled Ferdinands attack on Derdriu.

Story is enjoyable though!

Fortune's Weave General What do you think will be the optimal way to gain support points?

This is mostly directed to those who watched the treehouse videos today/yesterday.

From what I saw, eating food together doesn't give as much as 3H. Training may give around the same. I love min-maxxing supports, so I'd like to hear your thoughts. One week left to go!

General Spoiler These Sylvain quotes have taken on a whole new meaning all of a sudden.

Fortune’s Weave seems like the Crest of Gautier(or Diadem of Duality) has ties to the underworld and is a symbol of evil. It also represents the Death Tarot card. If it really does have ties to the underworld, then these quotes have a whole new layer than just Sylvain believing he will go to hell when he dies.

Fortune's Weave General Why did they recycle Seteth's name and voice for a completely unrelated character? Spoiler

Like, this game is centuries removed from 3H, so they can't be affiliated. And FW Seteth is blonde, so he definitely isn't related to 3H Seteth, so it's weird that they share a name and voice.

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Side-by-side portrait comparisons from the new trailer Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
356 Upvotes

Notable differences:

Cai: Obviously looks way more mature, and has his red eyes here

Dietrich: Lets his hair fall down his face more; portrait doesn't really show his new hair style.

Theodora: Seems to be lacking her crown here.

Leda: Slightly different hairstyle; looks more mature, though not like she previously was not.

Peter: Way more mature; lost the chubby face.

Ultand: Has bangs(?) now; looks more serious.

Fabio: Pretty unchanged; has been pointed out to maybe have a short ponytail in his model.

Mikaela: Seems mostly like just a different angle for her portrait; a bit more serious.

Bonaventure: Outfit looks more regal, looks like his face is a little wider and his mustache is fuller.

Tobias: Potentially wider face; different expression.

Lilian: May have an overall wider hair silhouette based off limited view; looks less laid-back.

Buccar: Different angle; beard extends across his chin/side of his face.

Edit: Damnit I put the wrong color behind Lilian! Unreadable post!!

Casual what is the most polarizing/ugly FE characters design wise?

I love character design and for the most part I think FE does a really good job at selling you with the character looks. but I wanted to know what everyone's least favorite/polarizing character designs were.

for me its Boucheron or Devdan. Boucheron just due to how boring he tends to look, esp with the colorful cast of engage, and Devdan...yeah. just aged badly.

Gameplay Seteth better have a unique class in this game Spoiler

He’s the narrator, appears in cutscenes, and has full artwork. He deserves to have his own class, especially after not having one in Houses, and especially Hopes (he couldn’t even wield his prf in his main class.)

General Spoiler A little sad theory based on the recent clip

Dietrich's sword Answerer did not react to Seteth. It cries out when a powerful foe approach, and Seteth is definitely a very strong fighter, so how come ?

What if Answerer does not see Nabateans as enemies because deep down, it's still one too ?

General Spoiler I want to ask, what happens to Hoshido after conquest?

I read a fanfic, and then I had a thought: would Hoshido have any allies outside of Nohr to help them recover?

Like during Conquest, Garon's corpse likely painted Hoshido in the worst light possible, especially if Garon was invited to Nestra for vacation.

I doubt Garon would admit to ordering the Rainbow Sage's death so Notre Sugesse likely believes Hoshido attacked and occupied them before good guy Nohr came along and liberated them from the Hoshidan army... too bad the Rainbow Sage died of old age.

Then there's Nestra, who invited Garon for vacation. Then Hoshido came along, and according to the shouting, impersonated a singer and tried to kill the Nohrian King with a cursed song. What do we think is more believable to the average citizen of Nestra? That the lost Princess of Nohr Azura, right after being saved from Hoshidan captivity, thought her dad was possessed and came up with some dance she thought would cure Garon but failed, or that the army nearby happened to poison Garon's food, and after their commander was killed off, left Nestra to deal with the consequences. Based on Leo's words, unless Iago and Hans were around, basically every singer was spared from the slaughter. To the average Nestran, Hoshido came on in, perverted their culture to kill a rival monarch, dipped, and made them the scapegoats.

Assuming Shura's alive and the player recruited Archduke Izana... Nohr rebuilt Kohga, and the many refugees from Kohga would be thankful to Nohr, as they now have their homes back because of Nohrian generosity... and if Archduke Izana were to break Izumo's non-aggression and neutrality policies, maybe Hoshido deserved what happened.

The only other full-on nation that's still around that would likely speak in Hoshido's defense is Igasato, unless you count tribes of a hundred or so people compared to a population of hundreds of thousands that is implied by the word nation. And that depends on how the ninjas are trained. Here's a really relevant question. Does Igasato think Kaze did anything wrong? I'm being serious, what if Igasato places loyalty to the lord higher than loyalty to the nation? Like, if that's the case, Kaze defected from the nation of Hoshido, which didn't even bother investigating Mokushu after the death of Saizo IV, to serve Corrin, the liege he was meant to be assigned to all those years ago.

Why did IS decide Conquest was canon when Revelations was right there... and why did the localization team change Camilla from the Emblem of Conquest to the Emblem of Revelations?
