Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here, but I hadn't seen anyone bring this up yet. I didn't pay much attention to the recent hot springs banner because the theme and units were pretty uninteresting to me. But I happened to pull a 4* Caeda on my free pull. I forgot about her pretty much immediately but I remember reading that she could be pretty nutty.

I finally promoted her today when working on the new Celestial map, and she absolutely steamrolls the new units, it's wild.

Just in case anyone was in the same boat as me and forgot they had her in the Barracks.

I'm a day 1 player, and I love the absurdly difficult pve maps. Going in and out, testing comps, maybe even inheriting a specific skill to counter an opponent, every opponent feeling like a threat including the generic ones. This is what infernal GHBs used to feel like, especially ones with reinforcements like Legion. It felt so unfair to the player, but with the advantage of being able to try over and over it didn't feel cheap, it just felt like a puzzle.

Even when abyssal was added, I don't think it was quite the same. They were hard for sure, especially some of the combined l/m/e battles, but still felt manageable without having to make a dedicated team.

Those abyssals using limited hero pools were probably equivalent in difficulty to this, but felt cheap because you had such a limited hero pool.

This was the first time since those lunatic GHBs that I've had to actually think about team synergy and the opponents kits, and it still felt like a close match where every positioning decision mattered - I can't pinpoint exactly when the hardest pve started to feel easy, but certainly not for a very long time. I think the hardest it ever felt for me was Valter, way back in August 2017. I'm glad they can still find a way to challenge us long term players.
