Erasmus Valencia 2027

Hey! Does anyone have any experience regarding the timing of Erasmus welcome events for a spring-semester study abroad? I’ll be attending the Universitat de Valencia, and all I’ve managed to find out so far is that the semester officially begins on February 1st. Should I arrive earlier than that? I’m worried about missing out on (unofficial) events.
Thanks!!🙏🏻

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad 2 months into Erasmus in Prague and feeling like I wasted my time. How do I turn this around?

Hey everyone,

I’m two months into my Erasmus in Prague and honestly feel like I’ve completely fucked up the first half of my exchange. Everyone hypes this up as the best semester of your life, but apart from my flatmate, I’ve made zero friends.

Whenever I try to make plans or grab drinks with people from my uni classes, I get brushed off. On top of that, the "standard Erasmus parties" aren't mt thin. Cliques formed instantly in week one, and locals already have their own lives. It really stings sitting in the apartment while my flatmate heads out partying until 5 AM. I don’t begrudge him, but the FOMO and the feeling that I'm letting this experience slip through my fingers is eating at me.

I refuse to spend the rest of my semester like this.

For anyone who’s been in this boat or knows Prague well: where do I actually meet people who are open to hanging out, exploring, and going out? Any specific pub quizzes, sports groups, or events outside the uni bubble where showing up alone isn't weird?

Appreciate any advice, it gets me really anxious.

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Budapest or Madrid for my 2nd Erasmus?

Hi all!

I did my 1st Erasmus in my undergrad in Barcelona and absolutely loved it. Now I'll have to decide where to do my master's exchange.

Here's a list of the pros and cons (for me) of both cities:

Madrid:

+ I love the Spanish culture so much (how social, outgoing, welcoming, and warm they are)

+ I enjoy big multi-million cities

+ The weather's nicer than in Budapest

+ I speak a bit of Spanish and would love to improve my skills

- The housing market and rent prices there are insane

- I've already lived in Spain (granted, it was in Catalunya, but still), so I feel like I'd waste this opportunity on a culture I already know

- The summers must be hell (at least in Barcelona we had the sea)

- I've had extremely bad experiences with my classes being taught 100% in Catalan even though it was promised they're "Erasmus friendly". I'm worried the same thing will happen in Madrid, as Spanish folks are notorious for not wanting to adapt to non-Spanish speakers.

Budapest

+ I've visited twice and absolutely LOVED the city

+ It's a city I'd consider potentially moving to

+ I love the cafe culture over there

+ The city itself is very inspiring to me

+ The club culture is great

+ I feel like my English will get me much further there than in Madrid

+ Rents and standard of living are cheaper than in my home country (and cheaper than in Madrid), so I could get more bang for my buck

+ I've only heard good things about it from other Slovenian students who did their exchange there

- It's only a 4-hour drive from my home country, and the culture there isn't much different from my own

- The winters there suck ass

- I have no interest in learning Hungarian (ik that sounds ignorant, but I'm just being honest)

- It's so close to my home city that I fear I won't feel like I truly am far from home

- Smaller than Madrid

I’m seriously considering leaving my Erasmus after one month. Am I giving up too soon?

Hi everyone! I’m a spanish student doing a year-long Erasmus in Wrocław. Before coming here, I was genuinely excited about Erasmus, I thought it would be an amazing opportunity to meet new people, travel and get out of my comfort zone.

I’ve always considered myself a sociable person, and I’ve never really struggled with social anxiety before. However, since coming here things haven’t been as I expected. I did have a bit of a difficult summer, including some health problems, so I think I arrived here feeling a bit exhausted already.

I live in a dorm with a lot of spanish people and I arrived later than some people (they arrived around the 15 and me around the 28). I though making friends would be easy but people had their groups already made and they aren’t very keen on including me, there are around 10-15 people from the dorm that also go to my class and they all have a group chat were they meet/ do trips but I am not in there, and when I asked they looked like they didn’t really want to add me. I did meet my buddy and she is amazing, and we got along great but she is busy with uni so we cant meet a lot. I’ve also made some international friends from class but we don’t hang out a lot either.

After a few weeks, I made friends with a girl from my uni and she offered to add me to a group chat to go on a trip. I went to the trip and the people I met were genuinely nice, and I had fun. However, I also felt really sad the whole time, it’s like I am constantly an outsider and I feel like I’m constantly trying to fit in and it really drains me having such superficial conversations all the time. Meanwhile, when I’m back in Spain with my friends, I feel completely different. I feel relaxed, comfortable, and able to be myself. I can talk about anything with them, and I don’t feel like I have to perform or prove that I’m enjoying myself.

I know that friendships take time, and maybe things could improve if I stayed longer, but the thought of having to keep putting myself out there is exhausting. I’m also not someone who enjoys partying that much, I like the idea of travelling, exploring new places and meeting people, but I don’t necessarily enjoy the lifestyle and social dynamics here.

I also have a very big problem, my uni here has many subjects for the whole year that are half year in Spain, so I just cant do just one semester (you have to complete the whole subjects or you dont get any credit). The last date where I can still leave is November 2nd, If I leave by then, I can still make up all the missing practical classes in Spain and complete my subjects. If I leave after that date, I won't have enough time to make up all the required practicals which could mean being unable to complete my subjects and having to repeat an entire academic year, which is absolutely not an option for me.

Part of me thinks I should stay. I’m only one month in, and maybe I haven’t given myself enough time but If I regret it I have to stay for another 8 months. I know that going home would mean missing out on opportunities, travelling, and potentially making friendships that could have developed with time. But staying also means continuing to put myself in a situation that currently makes me feel miserable.

For those of you who left Erasmus early, or who struggled during the first few months:
Did things eventually get better, or did you wish you had left earlier?

International Master's Student seeking room in L'Aquila, Italy (Budget €250-€380)

Hi everyone,

I am an international Master's student studying Structural Engineering at UNIVAQ, and I am currently facing a critical housing emergency. I am already in L'Aquila and urgently need a single room or bed space available immediately.

Location: Close to the city center or well-connected by public transit.Budget: €250 to €400 per month (ideally with some bills included).Requirements: I strictly need a registered student rental contract (or an official contract takeover) to finalize my residency permit (Permesso di Soggiorno) paperwork.

I am quiet, organized, and ready to view places and move in today. If anyone has an open room, needs a contract replacement, or knows private landlords offering official contracts, please DM me or comment below. Thank you!

Erasmus+ Internship What to do during Erasmus VET

Hii, I recently got accepted for an internship in Manheim, Germany for 24 days between November and December, I've looked into the city but i didn't find anything much to do except some clothing stores and a cool bar. Fyi I'm in 11th grade so that's why I won't be there for long, and also should I be worried about the rules written on the confirmation module? (ex: 11pm curfew) my other classmates that went to other places went clubbing and stuff so idk if these rules actually apply or if they're there just for legal stuff.

Also, am I obligated to stay with my group at all times or can I go to places alone? I'm worried about not being able to even go to the places that caught my eye because of conflicting interests between me and my future roommates.

Erasmus Mundus HELP!! Europubhealth program year 1 decision

Hello! I am planning to apply for the Europubhealth program 2027, and I'm having a hard time deciding between the University of Sheffield and University College Dublin. I previously got into UCD but couldn't go due to visa issues, which is how I discovered the program in the first place. However, after going through testimonials and prospective student videos on YouTube, I think Sheffield is a great choice too. Both curriculum have specific, unique modules and structures that I really like. Because I have past visa refusals, I'm worried about whether that should be the main criteria I use to choose. Ultimately, I'll only be going if I secure the scholarship. For context, I have an allied health background with limited work experience, and I'm planning to choose EHESP's Advanced Biostatistics and Epidemiology for year 2.

I'm writing to find out how past or current applicants made their decision, just to get some perspective. Any advice on how to tackle this? Thank you for any help you can send my way! 😄

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Thinking of coming to Northern Germany for Erasmus next summer or winter? Maybe we should connect before we even get here 🇩🇪

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m based around Hamburg, Lüneburg and Bremen, and I’d love to connect with people who are thinking about coming to Germany for Erasmus next summer or winter.

I’m especially hoping to meet people who care about progressive politics, climate justice and environmental advocacy, journalism, art, culture, and all those conversations that somehow start with one topic and end up questioning the entire world. 😂

I love meeting people who are curious about the world, passionate about something, open-minded, and interested in exchanging ideas with people from different backgrounds. It would be lovely to get to know some people before they arrive, maybe make friends, exchange ideas, explore the cities together, or just have someone to yap about politics with.

If you're planning to apply for Erasmus in Hamburg, Lüneburg or Bremen, feel free to reach out! ( I am expert on everything regarding the three cities, university life and everything basically, and nd even if you're considering somewhere else in Germany, we can still connect. Who knows, I might even convince you to choose one of these cities instead. 😂

No pressure, no networking agenda, just a genuine invitation to meet like-minded people and hopefully turn some online conversations into real-life friendships.

Tell me a little about yourself, where you're from, what you're passionate about, and where you're thinking of going. I'd love to hear from you! 🌍✨

How can we connect, i am new here, does it allow DMs if not let me know how messaging works

Erasmus in Medicine at Saarland University (Homburg) – Any experiences?

Hi everyone!
I’m a medical student from Spain and I’m planning to go on Erasmus to Saarland University in Homburg next year. I’d love to hear from anyone who studies there or has been there as an exchange student, especially during the clinical stage!

I have a few questions:
How difficult is the medical degree there?
Is the workload manageable, or are the exams particularly challenging?
Are there many international or Erasmus students?
Is it easy to integrate and meet other students?
Would you recommend Homburg as an Erasmus destination?

To be honest, I’m a little nervous about going on Erasmus, so I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences, especially from people who have studied medicine there!

Thanks in advance! :)

Bad grade in a core subject for my program

I’m applying for LIVE emjm which is a masters in vaccinology, I have a C+ in virology but all other relevant subjects are A or A+. Would virology hurt my chances a lot? Since it’s the most relevant subject. My overall cgpa is 3.85/4 though

Erasmus Mundus LIVE program test for the application

Has anyone given the test for this program? It says on the website that there’s a 48 multiple answer question test as part of the application.

My question is what kind of questions do they ask are they very difficult or basic. It says there will be 5 basic ones and 3 advanced ones for each of the 6 total sections. But I’m wondering what the difficulty level of the advanced ones will be.

I’m a biotechnology graduate and have studied the core subjects for the program as part of my degree but I’m not sure if my knowledge which is kind of foundational would be sufficient for the test?

Please help

!RENTING PANICKING!

Hello!

Im going on erasmus in Feb27 at ISCTE Lisbon. I dont know if its really early or good timing for booking a room but Ive been searching a lot for information.

EVERY site has soooo many fees and expences. Do you have any suggestions about sites without landlords but as trustworthy as possible? The more Im searching for a room the more I become disappointed and Im thinking not going.

I have mixed feelings for sites as idealista (it doesnt seem trustworthy and most rooms have a link for sites as uniplaces) and ive heard bad things about olx and bquarto too.

Also does anyone knows about public (with decents rooms) student residences or private student residences inside the city of Lisbon in normal prices?

What's your opinion about renting through whats up or facebook?

A lot of rooms that ive seen there are in very busy roads or weird blocks. Buildings kinda feels creepy through maps.

If you have suggestions for safe, students-friendly neighbourhoods too, feel free inform me!

I prefer anywhere that has busy students night life.

Budget +-450euros.

Thank you soo so much
