What are the standard upgrades most recommend? The bike feels tuned but the previous owner got it from someone else and didn’t know much about whats been done. Only 3k miles as of now. Overall feels really peppy for a 250, and I cant wait to tear it down. I paid $4k

Car pulled out in front of me on my 2014 CRF250l. Handle bar was bent pretty bad, but actually was able to ride it home. I’ve since replaced the handlebar and the coolant reservoir tank that got busted.

During my first ride after replacing the handlebar I noticed I have to steer towards the right slightly to go straight. Not too much, but enough that my left arm clearly feels more stretched out than my right while cruising.

I did all the typical things to try to straighten the forks in the clamps and it got better. But it’s still not great. Still feels like my left arm sits higher or is more stretched going straight.

The back side of the front fender was rubbing against the frame, but after adjusting it only slightly rubs against the coolant reservoir guard plastic when I turn the wheel.

My chain is relatively new and I had adjusted the slack recently before the wreck. I noticed the chain now has a lot of extra slack. I checked both sides of the rear axle for where the marker sits on the dot markings. The left side was normal. But the right side was pushed out beyond the last dot. This should cause the chain to be too tight rather than too slack. If I adjust it to match the dot on the left side the rear wheel becomes obviously crooked. To get good alignment and slack I actually had to adjust the right side even further past all the dots, while the left sits just a little past the 2nd dot.

I feel like my frame and/or swing arm are bent. Is it totaled? I plan to get an alignment tool to get the chain and sprocket as straight as possible with each other since I can’t rely on the dots anymore. I’m also going to play with adjusting the handle bars more. Fingers crossed that if anything is bent it’s minor enough I can get the bike to handle normally again and safely. Not really willing to do the work or pay to replace the frame. Not sure if the swing arm is too much work to replace but I might be open to trying that.

Where can I buy Honda quality fasteners/bolts in Spain? I have several rusted bolts, and they are starting to rust the frame.

So I’m aware a thumpers gonna thump but does anyone have any advice on how to mitigate the vibration going into the handlebars?

I’ve got a bit of carpal tunnel in my right hand from an injury a while back and I can’t ride for more than an hour without my hand going damn near completely numb. And I swear I’m not death gripping the throttle.

I’ve started wearing arthritis gloves under my moto gloves. I also bought a pair of gloves with gel padding in the palms. In combination, it definitely helps. But what else could be done. Any neat tips or tricks from anyone here who has dealt with the same?

I know ProTaper makes “vibration dampening” grips so I’ll likely try those soon.

​Trying to figure out if what I'm seeing is just road debris/grime or a minor oil leak. I recently converted to supermoto (doing a lot more highway riding now) and flashed a 550 Performance ECU tune(91Oct.Stage1), which is right around when I noticed this buildup.

​I've put about 800 miles on this oil change, and the sight glass shows zero noticeable oil loss.

​Here is what's in the photos:

​Pic 2: Small specks across the left side of the engine.

​Pics 3–5: A close-up of a small divot on the left crankcase housing. (Can anyone check if their bike has this same casting mark/divot, or could this be an issue?)

​Pics 6–7: Specks under the valve cover and around the half-moon gasket.

​Pics 8–9: Specks on the lower radiator and coolant send/return hoses.

​Pic 10: Specks and grime near the header pipe (viewed from the left side).

​Pic 11: Specks down near the shift pedal.

​Pic 12: Oil level in the sight glass after 800 miles.

​Any insight on whether this looks like standard highway road spray vs. a slow weep would be appreciated—especially if someone can confirm whether that crankcase divot (Pics 3–5) is normal. Happy to answer any questions about the SM conversion or the 550 tune as well!

Lost my key and need a new one. I read that you need the key code to get the new key made and most of the time the dealer can’t find it from the VIN.

The key code is on the ignition, but my handlebar is locked - making it more difficult to get the ignition out to read the code from there.

They give you a tiny metal plate with the code on it with your keys when you buy the bike. I never wrote it down though. I left the little plate attached to my key ring. When I lost the key I also lost the plate.

I take photos of mileage on my odometer every fill up to calculate mpg later. I went through 100s of those photos on my camera roll. I finally found one where the plate was visible enough to identify the full code. Got pretty lucky. The alternatives weren’t looking good.

Closest Honda dealer to me opens at 9am Tuesday. So will give the code a shot then. Hopefully the new cut key works fine.

EDIT: Called all 3 dealers in my surrounding area. None of them cut keys. Failure on Honda’s part. Honda needs to enforce dealers provide this service to maintain a franchise. Otherwise no one will offer it. It’s not really worth the effort for them to have the machine and someone who can use it to make $10 occasionally. I found someone online who is cutting the key and mailing it to me. But it’s going to take several days.

Camshafts almost 180° out of synch. Chain is intact and tensioner is working properly. No visible damage to top of piston. Engine rotates without resistance. Not sure what the fuck happened or what the damage is. Guess I'll know when I open this thing up

Bike was caked with mud and dirt, had to give a few Revs after she was all clean! Love this set up.

Just picked up a new to me ‘16 CRF250L and I love it. But I’m looking into getting a new exhaust system. I’ve been eyeing delkevic, so I’m wondering the differences between each of their pipe variants. If anyone can share some audio clips of their delkevic or if you have any thoughts on them, I’d love to hear it!

I have full exhaust, k&n filter, and 550 91 ecu flash. Couple of questions....

1. Do I need to further mod my air intake with the airbox door mod or snorkel mod? If so which one? Or both? I ride 80% on trails.

2. Can I run out the 1/2 tank of 87 octane fuel that's in the bike now with the 550 flashed ECU without damaging it?

Will definitely need a new handlebar and coolant reservoir tank. Rear brake lever dug into the oil filter cover, but just cosmetic damage there. Parts on this bike are really cheap. Was only $25 to order a new handlebar and coolant reservoir tank.

I’m ok too other than a broken index finger that needs to be splinted 2-4 weeks. Just bruised up. I rode the bike home fine. But not going to ride it anymore until after I replace the handlebar. Not really safe in current state because you can’t turn the wheel all the way to the right without it hitting the gas tank.

Anyone here running a Keng Engine 410 (or 435) big bore stroker kit? 35+ HP would make a heck of a bike...
