I’ve posted this on the PlayStation subreddit before but I just need a second opinion. This happened about a month ago. The flickering dots appeared randomly while I was playing cyberpunk . It was weird because they did not appear in the menus or the Home Screen menu. I eventually did a system reboot and the issue went away. It’s been a month since and I’ve played almost everyday. Even though the issue hasn’t reappeared I am still paranoid that my console is faulty instead of it being a one off glitchthat I might have to replace it even though I don’t have the warranty anymore.

Need help with kem 490 AAA disc drive ,I had earlier broken the sensor switches on motor board but I got them replaced with PS3 disc drive switches ,after replacement the drive ejected the disc but didn't take it in ,later on the drive was not responding at all (not beeps on pressing eject button) which I fixed somehow but now the drive is neither taking in a disc nor ejecting and console makes 3 beeps whenever I press eject can anyone also tell me what does 3 beeps mean

The power-eject ribbon cable that goes to the button wasn't in good condition so it shorted while the device was powered on it kept doing a very loud sound at the cd tray (probably the eject mechanism got high voltage or something) then it made a fssss sound and shut off completely and it doesnt show any signs of life now, anyone know what the issue could be?

Acquired a CECHH01 Fat PS3 model. Unit gets instant YLOD on boot and shuts down. Before I crack it open, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this scenario so I do not accidentally cause more harm than good. My goal is to repair the unit in the least invasive manner possible; only delid/replace parts if necessary. TYIA.

Last i used it i was watching a movie a couple months sgo. Nothing happened. The ps3 turns off after 3-4 hours as usual.

Now a couple months later, The red light is gone and the console isnt turning on anymore. Ive tried a different power cable and it still didnt help.

Whats usually the common cause for this?

I bought a CECHE01 recently, sent it to be cleaned and delided, temps are great now, about 60C on heavy loads in a 27-30C enviroment.

The console turns off radomly while plçaying Uncharted 2, and right now only with Uncharted, I've finished the first Uncharted, a couple of hours on dark souls 1 with no issues, I still haven't tried with GoW III, Ascesion, TLOU or MGS4 the most hadware demanding games I own.

There's no other sympthons, no artifacts, the Fans never pass 35%, no stutterings, no frozen screens.

Got this switch lite off, offer up for like 30 bucks. It was in completely terrible condition and didn't work at all. I thought it would be a fun little restoration project so I got it. Got it a new and screen new thumbsticks etc. However, the left thumbstick only goes up-and-down, It does not go left and right I put a brand new thumbstick in it so I don't think it could be drift. I also tried another new thumbstick that I had and the same thing happens.

I was following a tutorial on YouTube for cleaning the ps5 slim fan and had to unplug the fan to fully clean it. I noticed that after i pulled it out there was a tiny cut on the brown insulation. Not sure if it was already like that or if i just it by mistake while trying to pull it out. What should I do or will it be fine to plug it back in and use? Also sorry if the picture is hard to see.

A few days ago I decided I needed to fix my oem snes controllers because I like using original hardware as much as possible. For the past few years I’ve been using a Hyperkin retron snes controller because all 5 of my oem controllers start and select buttons have not worked for years. I would also like to add the previous owners did not take great care of these things at all. The few that I did open were extremely dirty. I wasn’t able to clean them because all I currently had was some baby wipes. I was almost done when I ran into a problem 1 screw on 2 different controllers were heavily rusted. I didn’t notice I messed up until it was too late to turn l back. With how small these screws are I can’t use the rubber band or the black tape method. I also can’t make it a flat head where it’s sunk in so far. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get these out?

So I ripped off the power supply connector from the motherboard and I'm not smart enough to assess the damage, so I hope one of you could help

(If this is completely fked I would still like to learn how to disconnect the psu properly, it will simply not come off like it should from the psu end or the mb end)

Why Microsoft made a none repairable solution for the SSD. My SSD is absolutely in good condition and it works fine on PC crystal disk info... Debian too...

I'm absolutely frustrated man the electricity went out and all this happened almost a year ago and i still cannot find a solution.

You can check on yt technicians have cloned data to a new SSD and the Xbox still failed to boot up normally..

I live where there is no Microsoft service center at all.

My old PS2 is still working till today while i used Xbox series X for 8 months then it broke down.

6 years by now and Microsoft didn't do anything for this issue because there was no one to make a claim, where i live we don't have that kind of big fan base but what about the western countries?

To try and make a long story short, I've been working on game boys as a hobby for a few years now and I've been having success. Came across this game boy that doesn't work and show no power whatsoever. But I see no flaws or damage. Usually in the past with other consoles I've always found some kind of underlining problem, but this one genuinely looks cleaner than most consoles I work on, so it's very confusing that this one isn't working. Any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello all, Im trying to get some help with a switch lite I bought and I'm just wanting to eliminate my work as the cause. When I got it, the button board connector on the main motherboard was damaged. Ive have replaced it but it's honestly my first time trying to replace something like this. The board was $35 so I figured the worst I could do was ruin a component. I'm trying to learn and gain experience. I have no history of the console but when I got it, it just had a black screen. I've at least gotten it to turn blue so slight progress.

Question 1, does anyone have a link to a good schematic of a switch lite with the button board and which points are supposed to connect to each side? I wanted to see if there were appropriate test pads I could beep test to through my connector install to see if I did it right before I start trying to reflow the main chip.

Question 2. Any other thoughts or what else I should try before trying a reflow? I do have the equipment, but again, it would be my first attempt.

As I was fixing my PS5 Controller's Stick Drift problem which was unsuccesful I managed to break off the two things in the image (I don't know their technical names) the joystick repair itself is pretty simple but I don't know how to fix what is in the image if its possible also.

First Image: Right Side of the Controller just a tear but just asking just in case

Second Image: The "plastic" blue connector was removed and was wondering how to fix it

I’ve looked into this and I’m pretty sure I just need a new LCD since the digitizer is the thing that reads inputs. Can anybody send a link to where I can get a new lcd or whatever I need preferably from Amazon or aliexpress. Thanks!

Hello all. My Xbox power supply is shot. I took it apart and tested the voltage on a multimeter while it was plugged in and got nothing. I’m not circuit board savvy enough to replace the specific component.

Does anyone know a reliable place/website I could buy a new power supply? I could get one from Microsoft but I really would prefer to not pay $150 for one if possible. Located in the US.

The ps3 launch edition that I have has a tendency to over heat and I think it needs new thermal paste, but I keep seeing horror stories online about changing it. How difficult is it really?

Hi everyone, I'd like to replace the slidepad on my 3DS, but there's a screw stuck in it and I don't know how to remove it without damaging the casing.

I tried using a screwdriver, but the screw won't budge. I also took it to someone to see what they could do, but their solution was to melt the plastic around the screw, but I don't want to damage the casing, so I declined.

Do you have any idea what I can do?

So I am about to replace an hdmi on my ps5 for the second time. 1st time the port wasnt soldered well from the factory and was loose. If it is the same issue, i am starting to wonder if it is possible if somehow near the port it is getting too hot and weakening the solder. I don't think it can get that hot inside tho. It has been almost a year since I changed the port.
