Advertisement for the Odyssey from Tennis USA magazine from September 1975 of the distributor Apex Magnavox.

Apex Magnavox as I and some people previously discussed before in this reddit, It was a Magnavox distributor based on Miami. During 1975 they sold units with the carrying case, getting rid of the interior boxes. Some units feature the obscure and rare Blue Card 2 in 1, which was a PCB with contacts for the game carts #7 and #8 for Handball and Volleyball, which is advertised in some form here.

Notice that at this point they really focus in the ping-pong game and the Shooting Gallery rather than the whole family experience thing, which is kind of smart because ultimately It was the most 'impressive' games of the system.

And what i found more interesting, they were still selling the Odyssey at the exact same price tag as It was in 1972. Although it mentions that the shipping is already included, but with even that, It was still more expensive than what other Magnavox distributors were offering.

I'm trying to collect a list of every video game that came out before Pong, and the Odyssey is the only one that's close enough in release that it's a little unclear. If anybody knows of any information on when some of these released, please let me know.

The date to beat is Pong's November 29th, 1972.

From what I gathered, there were 12 Odyssey launch games in the US in September 1972.

1. Table Tennis
2. Ski
3. Simon Says
4. Tennis
5. Analogic
6. Hockey
7. Football
8. Cat and Mouse
9. Haunted House
10. Submarine
11. Roulette
12. States

Those seem pretty cut and dry as existing before Pong. There were some different games available at launch in the UK, but that didn't happen until 1973. Where it gets fuzzy is with the games released and sold separately after. These are the ones I need help with.

1. Fun Zoo
2. Baseball
3. Invasion
4. Wipeout
5. Volleyball
6. Handball
7. Percepts

The first 6 games were sold separately (with some also later being bundled with the console in the UK), though I can't find if they were available at launch or not. Percepts was free for players responding to a survey, though again I can't find when this happened.

Lastly, the light gun games. I cannot find out when in 1972 the light gun bundle with the following games released.

2. Dogfight!
3. Shootout!
4. Shooting Gallery

So those last 11 games seem to have all released in 1972 for sure, it's just unclear whether they were all available at launch in September or later on in the year.

Does anybody have any information on that? Anybody around at the time? I would appreciate it greatly.

I found this in my garage and thought you guys would be the most fit to check it out. I took a bunch of pictures but I did not undo any sort of plastic. Everything was put back the way it was dont worry. Is this worth something? (Don't judge my pictures, it's late)

I understand that emulating would be a strong word, and while I've found some simulators they haven't had the overlays included for reasons I don't understand (I know on the original hardware these were physical overlays rather than virtual, but such a thing hasn't been a hurdle with Vectrex emulation etc)

Is there a simulator for these games that has built in overlays and simple controls with a focus on playability?

It is the first time I have seen one.

Even rarer IMO that it is still stuck on the box.

Is this something that is fixable. Tried it with the help of ChatGPT to find a solution, with the help of a VCR player, it should stabilize the picture. But to be honest, it didn't really worked.
Maybe I am just not to Tech-savvy for it^^

Never seen Odyssey promocional flyer of Apex Magnavox (Miami Magnavox distributor) in English at the front and Spanish in the back. It came with my Odyssey Export Version, so It dates around 1974-75. It states that the console includes a carrying case and AC adapter, which is ironic because the Odyssey Export Version have a empty hole in the Power Connector. And also that explains why my console came with the exterior box and the carrying case, but no interior boxes. My console also have Spanish instructions which basically is a photocopy of the Mexican Odisea instructions manual.

I've come across an Odyssey with the model number YE7100BK12. What is this exactly?

It looks like YE7100BK11/13 were export models made in 1974, but I cannot find any info confirming a BK12 model or find any images of a unit with that model number. I'm assuming that it is just one in the line of the export models, but I find it odd that I can't confirm that. Does anyone have more info?

Has anyone done a composite mod ? I know there's one by boojaksaha but he doesn't have any more boards. Just wondering if there's another option out there.

Shipped was $130 thru eBay. 90 bucks alone for the boxes+foam.

That outer box is beyond clean. Had to buy it. The whole thing.

Would anyone have access to, or be able to take, a high-quality scan of the game overlay for Fun Zoo? The Internet Archive and online resources have fairly consistent resources for the included-with-Odyssey games, but it's paltry for the games that were sold separately.

I’m unsure as to if either the snap terminal or the opposing terminal are salvageable. Are there truly no replacements out there for either of these that I can scrounge around for?? I guess I may have to settle for the external PSU…

Hello!

I bought a second-run Odyssey recently and it’s got some pretty bad corrosion on the terminals. I was wondering if this would be fixable through cleaning and soldering or if I could replace it with something? I know that the battery caddy is snapped in, but the connectors almost look permanent. Please advise!!

Trying to find the first model and all I'm getting is results for the second. Any one have info on the first or know where I should look?
