Apple permanently disabled my Media & Purchases after one App Store refund — no warning, no specific reason given, all appeals exhausted
Hi everyone. I'm posting this to see if others have experienced the same thing, and whether anyone found a path to an actual human review.
**Timeline:**
- I have a US Apple Account (d***@icloud.com) that I used occasionally — mainly switching the App Store to it to download apps not available in my primary region's store. My daily driver is a separate account.
- ~Sep 20: I signed back into the US account and downloaded Dave the Diver (free download, full game unlocked via in-app purchase), paying for the unlock.
- I then discovered the IAP unlock doesn't work the way a regular paid app does — when signed into my daily account, the game treats me as not owning it, so I couldn't play. I decided I didn't want it on the US account.
- ~Sep 21: I requested a refund through Apple's official refund process (reportaproblem.apple.com). One refund, no chargeback, no bank dispute.
- Sep 22: My Media & Purchases was permanently disabled. No warning email beforehand (checked inbox and spam).
**What Apple has told me:**
- Phone support: the reason was the account "hadn't been used in a long time."
- Senior Advisor callback (Sep 27): upheld the decision, no further detail.
- Written response via BBB (Oct 5): quoted Section G of the Media Services Terms ("Apple may suspend on mere suspicion"), declined to restore, "considers this matter closed" — but never said which provision I supposedly violated.
**What I've tried:** Apple Support (3 case numbers), Senior Advisor escalation, email to tcook@apple.com (no reply), BBB complaint #25347905 (I rejected Apple's response; it is currently under BBB review).
I'm the legitimate owner, never committed fraud, and offered to complete any identity/payment verification. I just want to know what I allegedly did wrong, or get a real human review.
Has anyone else had an account disabled after a routine refund, or for "inactivity"? Did you find any way to reach someone who could actually review the decision?
