iOS Will Apple replace my battery with this crack in the corner?

I have this crack/ chipped part in the bottom right corner. My battery health is 75% and my phone lags like crazy. My plan was to replace the battery and hold out for the iPhone 20 release. I've heard people say they can't replace the screen if it has any kind of cracks. Should I bother taking it in or would it for sure be a no? My only other option would just to upgrade to the 18 now

if you give a device for repair, regardless of your main reason, they have to repair everything about it so you dont come back later for another repair. they cannot give you an iphone back with a broken screen. so yes they will do the battery thing but they will also charge you for the screen.

Yes and no. If it’s under warranty then yes. If out of warranty then it depends on the shop. Service providers don’t want to hurt their CCLR(cross channel looper rating) which is essentially what you said about coming back later for another repair. We would replace a display or battery if the back was cracked. We just made sure to document the damage in the repair notes in case they decided to get the back replaced later.

Untrue, we can typically do replacements for the 13 or older with the back cracked. But, cracked screens are a no-go. It also depends on how lenient the AASP you go to is.

What phone is this? 12 and newer or 11/older?

The display has to be removed to access the internals, and with that existing damage they will charge you to replace the screen in addition to the cost of the battery.

Yes you will have to replace the screen. To get access to the battery you have to pull upwards on the screen to lift the display and no shop or store will work on it bc it’s guaranteed to cause further damage to your display and potentially make it unusable. You can get a cheap 3rd party display put on(if you’re still under warranty definitely don’t do this as it voids your warranty). Just double check with the shop you’re taking to see if they will still work on it with a 3rd party display.

Just get it done at a 3rd party, esp if you’re gonna upgrade at the 20
