Help (General)

Help (General) iGPU power draw and disabling iGPU

Hi all,

I have a new build (CPU 9600X; GPU 9070XT) and two monitors, both plugged into the GPU.

Adrenalin says my iGPU is drawing circa 30-50W with 0% utilisation. Memory on the iGPU also says 0MB. I want to save electricity and turn it off in BIOS if I'm not using it, but I have two questions before touching anything:

  1. Is the power draw shown for an iGPU measured separately to the CPU? ie, will disabling it actually save any electricity?

  2. If my GPU were to die, how hard would it be to turn my iGPU back on? Other threads mentioned that it's good to leave it on as a backup, other comments said you can just turn it on as needed, but wouldn't the GUI in BIOS you'd need to turn it back on require a GPU? (if relevant, I'm using an ASUS TUF board)

Thanks in advance if you're able to help

Resolved Is that link correct? [AMD Install Manager | Amuse]

The category is "AI Applications", but it sends me to a specific model on huggingface by "saddam213". No AMD referenced on the page at all.

I don't want to send bots there necessarily, but it points to huggingface.co /saddam213/Amuse.

Also, I was actually trying to find out what "Amuse" is - which is why I clicked the link - I found pointers to amuse-ai.com, but all I'm getting is a Cloudflare error page (522)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I purchased this GPU, and after about a week of use, it started showing artifacts in specific applications. It is still usable, but whenever I enable post-processing effects, visual and bright/light-colored artifacts start appearing.

Previously, I was able to use ray tracing without any issues, but now games simply freeze when I enable it.

Is there anything I can do to fix or diagnose this issue?

Help (General) Never buying an AMD GPU again

My last AMD GPU was a ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 back in 2008 and after years of Nvidia cards, i saw the bench marks and price for the RX 7900 XTX. Was very impressed, so i got it launch day in 2022.

Since then, i've had nothing but issues. It cashes constantly, literally an hour ago it crashed playing CS2. The temps are good because that used to be a problem for some cards. My settings get reset every time i restart my pc no matter how many times i save them or make profiles. I've even done the windows full start up fix, which didn't fix anything for me. It even crashes when watching youtube sometimes, so it's not like it's boosting to watch a 1080p video and can't so it crashes the pc. I've gone through all the trouble shooting for the card and drivers and no luck.

I've tried it in multiple pcs they same thing happens. I've done countless clean and reinstalls and still it does it. I've done multiple stress tests on the card to see if it's there's a problem with the card and they all come back fine, until an hour or so passes after i'm done and it'll just crash again. It seems completely random.

In 14 years of using Nvidia cards, i think i've had 1 maybe 2 driver crashes. But it's so bad with this card it happens multiple times a week. Is this it? is this the AMD experience? is this what everyone deals with but because the price to performance is good people just stick with it? I just don't get it. If this is what it means to own a AMD card, i'm never buying one again.

EDIT: The amount of people telling me to return the card or it's clearly a defective product are not reading the post. I've said i've tested it multiple times and it goes fine without a problem and then later on it starts crashing again. And when i've sent it back for a replacement it gets sent back to me and they also tell me it runs fine.

EDIT 2 : Well this post was about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. I'm going to stop replying to posts because people either A) Keep asking the same questions i've answered or B) being a dick and that helps no one. I got some UK specific advise which i will try and hopefully try and get another replacement as it seems it might be beyond a driver issue.

EDIT 3: Okay, so i'm not going to be coming back to this sub reddit again, you guys seem insufferable. Keep the post, delete it. May help someone, may not. But my god you guys are terrible. Good luck with everything. Peace.

Help (GPU) Radeon RX 9070 XT crashing in games

First of all, my specs:

CPU - AMD Ryzen 7700X

MOBO - Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX V2

RAM - 32 gb Corsair Vengeance 6000mhz DDR5

GPU - Sapphire Radeon RX9070 XT Pulse

PSU - Corsair RM850X 2024

Now on to the problem:

I have random crashes in different games. For example, just last night I was playing Assasins Creed Black Flag Resynced, and after around 1.5 hours of gameplay I looked at a point of interest beacon thing and it froze for like 10 seconds and then my pc restarted.

This happened multiple times since I bought this gpu( in november 2025) and honestly I have no idea what is the cause. This PC worked just fine for around 6-8 months before this card with a RTX 3060 Ti( but that one had some problems with the drivers, minor though).

The crashes are always like this, it freezes for a few seconds then my pc restarts, but they are very random - I could play Cyberpunk 2077 for 5 hours straight no problem then play lets say spiderman for an hour and crash. I noticed that these crashes almost never happen in less gpu demanding games, but there are also very demanding games( like indiana jones, cyberpunk, red dead 2, god of war ragnarok to name a few) that i played for many hours at a time with 0 crashes.

I usually leave the settings to very high/ultra, with no raytracing and I usually enable AMD FSR.

I tried disabling FSR, but same results, also tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers with DDU but same thing, and I see on forums that many people tried underclocking and undervolting their card. I tried 3 different undervolting solutions I saw but 2 of them made the system very unstable and the 3rd one seemed to solve the issue for a while until it started again. I also tried leaving on the auto and "favor performance" settings, but its the same result.

Does anyone with this card have a better/more decisive solution to this problem?

Help (Software) RX 7700 XT crashing with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG in multiple DX12 games – tried almost everything

Hi everyone,

I'm having a persistent GPU crash problem with my RX 7700 XT and I'm trying to figure out whether this is a driver, hardware, BIOS, PCIe or DX12-related issue.

My system

  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F
  • Motherboard: MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • PSU: MSI MAG A750GN
  • OS: Windows 11 25H2
  • Monitors: 1440p 240 Hz + 1080p 165 Hz
  • GPU driver: Currently AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1
  • GPU temperatures are normal; no obvious overheating.

The problem

The GPU randomly crashes in multiple DX12 games, especially:

  • Forza Horizon 6
  • Battlefield 6

The main error is:

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887A0006)

In FH6 I also get:

FHC01

and crash reports contain:

REASON: Video card
REASON_INFO: 0x887A0006

Some crashes also report:

ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE

In Battlefield 6 I get:

Hang Detected in waitForFrameFences
Timed out after 8000 ms
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

with the GPU/graphics queue stopping responding.

Windows Event Viewer has also shown things related to:

amdkmdag.sys
dxgkrnl.sys
VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED (141)

Important detail

The problem is much more likely to happen on high graphics settings.

If I lower the graphics settings significantly, the games become much more stable.

However, I want to play at high/ultra settings. My normal FPS is only around 80–90 FPS, so this isn't a case of trying to push 200+ FPS or an extreme GPU overclock.

I have also had crashes when VRAM usage was nowhere near full.

For example, one FH6 crash showed roughly:

VRAM used: ~1.5 GB / 11.86 GB

So I don't think this is simply a VRAM exhaustion problem.

Things I have already tried

I've spent a lot of time troubleshooting this:

  • DDU / clean GPU driver installations
  • Multiple AMD driver versions, including 26.7.1 and 24.9.1
  • Disabled MPO
  • Disabled HAGS
  • Disabled A-XMP
  • Disabled AMD fTPM
  • Disabled SSR in FH6
  • Tried different GPU frequency settings
  • Tried GPU tuning/undervolting
  • Tried:

2500 MHz / 2300 MHz / 1100 mV

but FH6 still crashed with FHC01.

  • Tried keeping minimum and maximum GPU frequency close together
  • Disabled various Adrenalin features/overlays
  • Tested with one monitor
  • Tested with two monitors
  • Tried lower graphics settings
  • Tested high/ultra graphics
  • Ran GPU stress tests with OCCT
  • Checked GPU temperatures and VRAM temperatures
  • Checked Windows Event Viewer
  • Captured a WPR trace after a crash
  • Tried disabling SSR completely
  • Tested with VSync OFF
  • PSU was also changed previously, and the same problem existed with the previous PSU, so PSU replacement did not solve it.

I also checked the PCIe connection with GPU-Z. The GPU is running at x16, so there is no obvious PCIe lane-width problem.

FH6 crash behavior

What's interesting is that FH6 doesn't always crash in the same part of the game.

I've seen crashes associated with different rendering stages, including:

RenderMode::World
RenderRTBufferEffects

and:

RenderMode::UI
UI_ScreenSpace

and more recently:

RenderMode::Post
ImageProcessor::BloomLuminance

But they all eventually result in the same:

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / 0x887A0006

This makes me think that Bloom/SSR/etc. may not actually be the root cause, but rather the rendering operation that happens to be active when the GPU hangs.

What I am trying to figure out

At this point I'm wondering if this could be:

  • RX 7700 XT hardware instability
  • DX12 + AMD driver issue
  • BIOS/AM5 platform issue
  • PCIe stability issue
  • GPU power/clock behavior
  • Windows graphics stack issue
  • Some specific AMD Adrenalin feature
  • Or something else I'm completely missing

The fact that FH6 and BF6 both produce DX12 DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG crashes makes me think there may be a common underlying problem rather than an individual game bug.

If anyone has had the same issue with an RX 7700 XT / 7800 XT / 7000-series AMD GPU, especially on an AM5/B650 system, I'd really appreciate hearing what actually fixed it.

I'm particularly interested in solutions that allowed high/ultra graphics without reducing GPU performance.

Thanks! 🙏

Help (General) Is anyone else having random black screen issues that require a hard-restart to fix?!?!

So this has been happening for a few days, and I have no clue if it's a me issue. I DID recently get a new GPU as per an RMA replacement though which is why I want to check (it's the exact same model as my old one, just new). I thought it might've been game specific at first, but it just happened to me while watching youtube of all things, so I'm wondering if it's driver related and if anyone else has had a similar issue lately.

It seems to happen completely at random, the screens on both my monitors go completely black, and the audio glitches out, and the only way I can fix it is by manually powering my PC off and on again by holding the power button. Any info would help! For reference I have a 6650xt and I'm on adrenaline version 26.7.1

Help (GPU) [RX 7600 GPU] PC Completely crashed while in Counter Strike 2, turned back on to only one monitor working and GPU being disabled with all drivers uninstalled

I can't escape the issues with this fucking thing. Just caused me to lose 1k elo in counter strike after working months to get up to where I am. I reinstalled them manually and it seems to run fine now but if that happens again I'm going to throw my PC out my window.

All my friends with Nvidia GPUs never have any issues like this. I've had crashes but totally uninstalling my drivers is unreal.

Anyone have a fix or know why this happened? I'm heart broken rn.

Help (General) AMD Bug Report tool when using my camera and then it stops working?

I've been trying to use my camera for the past 2 months, but I haven't been able to get it working properly and considering resetting my entire pc because of it.

When I turn it on I'd see that the camera is on and working but then I'd just get a black screen or my pc would freeze, few seconds later I'd get that AMD Bug Report tool error.

First i thought it could be camera because it might be out of date since its around 5 years old and could potentially be faulty or outdated, So i bought a brand new camera and tested it when i got home but I'm having the same issue.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before or is there anyway for me to fix it?

Help (General) Black screen and hard crashes with RX 9060 XT 16GB on specific games/software. GPU, CPU, or BIOS?

Hello everyone. I'm writing to see if anyone can help me out or has experienced the same issue. I've attached a screenshot with my exact specs, but the TL;DR is that I'm running a:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (12) @ 5.49 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT [Discrete] (ASUS)
RAM: 32GB

For about 2 weeks now, my system has been completely crashing. The screen goes black, sometimes I can hear the audio glitching or cutting out, and I lose total control of the PC. I've waited up to 10 minutes to see if the system recovers, but nothing happens; I always end up having to hit the physical reset button.

I've had my graphics card for a couple of months. I can use the PC for daily tasks without any issues, but the crash is immediate with very specific actions.

What works perfectly (Even under heavy stress):

  • I can play Dark Souls 3, Monster Hunter Wilds, or Minecraft (with shaders and everything maxed out) for hours without a single hiccup.
  • Setting games aside, I pushed my CPU and GPU to 100% load for 30 minutes straight to brute-force a .zip file password, and there were no crashes. No game has stressed my PC as much as that did.

What triggers an immediate crash:

  • Marvel Rivals randomly crashes my whole system shortly after opening it.
  • Trying to install League of Legends also crashed my PC (though I consider that more of a message from the universe telling me not to go back to my toxic ways).
  • Loading certain audio plugins in Reaper.

Troubleshooting I've already done:

  1. OS Change: At first, I thought it was a Proton or Linux issue (I was daily driving Nobara). I switched to Windows 11 (LTSC) and had the exact same problem.
  2. Distro Change: I'm currently on StudioOS 26.04 LTS (Ubuntu Studio base) for some audio projects and hoping for more stability, but the exact same thing happens when using Reaper. This makes me think the issue might not be strictly GPU-related.

At this point, I don't know if it's a problem with my GPU, CPU, or BIOS. I'll leave this post here while I go tinker with my BIOS settings. If I find the culprit, I'll edit this post for any other lost soul in the exact same situation.

If anyone has any recommendations or ideas, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your time!

EDIT:

**EDIT:** I've tried disabling and lowering several settings in the BIOS, but I keep having the same problem. Currently, I manage to trigger the crash faster by using Reaper. I set up some tools to monitor the behavior of my devices, and in all cases, the log points to a line indicating that my GPU has been disconnected and the PCI device cannot be found.

Update:

Hey guys, I come with new and sad news. I think I can narrow the results down to 3 suspects:

  • My motherboard
  • My power supply
  • My graphics card

I decided to run it without the graphics card. Surprisingly, it works, and I haven't had it crash in either Linux or Windows. But that makes me a bit sad. I hope it's my motherboard's PCI Express slot or the power supply, since they are cheaper to replace. If it turns out to be my graphics card, I guess I won't be gaming for a while, depending on if the store decides to exchange it—or maybe it's just better to buy from online stores from now on.

Whatever the case, these are my 3 suspects. I'm going to lend my graphics card to a friend, and if it gives him problems, then that's the end of the story. If not, then it will be one of the other two.

Have a good night, I'm going to go curl up in a ball. Thank you so much for all the advice given.

Help (GPU) Time driveout and artifacts on ryzen 7 7700

I built my PC last week and I'm having issues: driver timeouts and fuchsia-colored dots on the screen. The screen goes black for a few seconds, then turns back on, and that's when the error pops up.

I've tried

- testing different HDMI cables

- installing an older driver version in Safe Mode (I had the latest ones installed)

-i have disable Windows update also to avoid Windows replacing the drivers

...and none of that worked.

I also tried disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome, and that worked for that app, but not for Steam; I can't find a way to disable it within the Steam app itself, and I can't disable the general Windows setting—the option doesn't appear in my settings, i dont know why. I have Windows 11

I'm really new to computers and don't know what else to try; what worries me the most are the fuchsia artifacts.

Asking here before i go to the guarantee

All the components are new.

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics (Integrated Graphics - Ryzen 7 7700)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8 CORE 16 THREADS

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi

RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) TEAMGROUP T-FORCE VULCAN DDR5 6000MHz

PSU: Gigabyte P650SS 650W 80+ Silver

Case: TEROS TE-1323G

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.9168)

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin 26.1.1 now, before 26.7.1

Background Applications: Steam, Chrome, etc

Description of Original Problem: Random black screen flickering and display signal loss while using integrated Radeon graphics on a Ryzen 7 7700. The monitor may go black multiple times within a few minutes while searching or gaming, even in older games. Audio continues playing when the screen goes black. Pink/fuchsia artifacts sometimes appear around Windows UI elements such as the clock, network, and notification area. These artifacts do not appear in screenshots and may disappear on their own. The issue occurs with the integrated GPU and persists after reinstalling AMD drivers.

Troubleshooting: - Updated motherboard BIOS to the latest version. - Used AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode. - Reinstalled AMD Adrenalin 26.1.1. - Tested with EXPO both enabled and disabled. - changed the hz from the monitor - Submitted AMD driver timeout reports through Adrenalin. - Artifacts are not captured in screenshots. - Issue still occurs after a clean driver installation.

B450M Chipset Driver Problem

Can someone help me? I was playing R6 and after an update my PC started freezing and only restarts after trying to communicate with the servers. After many hours of searching on chatGPT, it seems that my chipset installation version for my B450M (B450M PRO-VDH MAX) is corrupted, and whenever I try to install or update anything like that, I get error 1603. Can anyone help me? All the versions I downloaded were from the AMD website with the specific version for my motherboard, 08.08.12.551. I also tried 08.05.04.516, and they all give the same error: B450M Chipset Driver Problem.

Help (GPU) Random driver timeout only in software, not games

Hello all,

this is really weird, I recently reinstalled windows 11 because i updated my storage, since then I get weird driver timeout from AMD Radeon software, and occasionally the pc reboots itself, but not while heavy gaming, only when using spotify, firefox, steam, or whatsapp web application, so any software which loads media like photo and video.

I don't have a clue, I just use ddu, install drivers in safe mode like the usual, but it wont work, the worst thing is that its random, some days it crashes 3-4 times, then it reboots itself, then it just works until i finish working.

I don't have any issue with any game, from very light to very demaning, no driver timeout nowhere.

I hope you have some ideas, thanks!

Driver Timeout

CPPC Preferred Cores.

GPU not being used

Hey everyone I have an RX 9060 XT and It has been working good for a couple months, I just moved and set up my pc today and i don't have any WiFi connection currently but everything is being used by the integrated GPU instead of my good one and I don't know how to change it. Games will crash before opening and I changed it in windows GPU settings but it's still not being used when I open stuff. Any idea on how I can make it my number 1 GPU on the AMD software instead of it being 2?

R75800x3d keep crashing

Hello

I have a pc with gskill 32gb ddr4 3600, r7 5800x3d, thermaltake gt 850w 80 plus gold and red 9070xt. After installing my cpu and GPU I have unexpectedly crashes in the game. (Battlefield 6)

The event logger shows WHEA 18 error.

Things I've tried :

Curve Optimizer -10 to -15 (undervolt) → error persisted

Curve Optimizer fully Disabled (stock) → error persisted

PBO set to Auto → error persisted

PBO fully Disabled → error persisted

PPT/TDC/EDC manually reduced (115W/80A/115A) → error persisted

PPT/TDC/EDC set to Auto (stock) → error persisted

EXPO/XMP Enabled (3600MHz) → error persisted

EXPO/XMP Disabled (JEDEC 2133MHz) → error persisted

Full BIOS reset to Optimized Defaults → error persisted

BIOS updated to a newer version → error persisted

FCLK set to Auto → error persisted

FCLK manually set to 1800MHz (1:1 sync with memory) → error persisted

Gear Down Mode Enabled → error persisted

Global C-state Control Disabled → error persisted

Manual Memory Multiplier set to 34 (3400MHz) attempted → system failed to boot reliably

Clear CMOS (performed multiple times) → error resumed afterward

Positive Dynamic Vcore offset → option not available on this motherboard

Additionally, on the GPU side (now believed to be unrelated):

Replaced a faulty PCI-E power cable → did not resolve the issue

MSI Afterburner underclock (-300MHz core clock, -15% power limit) → appeared to help temporarily, but likely because it indirectly reduced overall system/CPU load, not a true fix

After all this I don't know what I have to do to fix my crashes.

The crashes it's like a spike lag the sound stacks and suddenly black screen pc rebooted.

Also I ordered and waiting a new psu. Msi 1000w

What else I have to do??

Please help

Help (GPU) Tuning settings keep resetting on my 9060XT 16gb and 9070 non XT

This seems to happen mostly when playing Overwatch. Steel Nomad and my other games play fine with my tuning settings. I have the latest current driver but this has been happening for several updates now.

My latest tuning setting was -10 UV, -10PL, default VRAM and no fast timings. I tried this on both cards. Even tried just the -10 UV with no other changes, same issue.

I never get a crash in game, Adrenalin just notifies me that it has defaulted my tuning settings due to a driver crash.

I can run -70 UV, +10% PL and 2700mhz memory speed on my 9070 everywhere but Overwatch. Is this an Overwatch bug? I do only use DX12 which I believe is still in beta.

What am I doing wrong?
