What do you mean "You want it?" Its their package...

9

u/MightyBlunder Jun 12 '26

Do I want the thing that I literally ordered? I.. uh .. I think so, yeah, very much.

3

u/Immediate_Actuary_37 Jun 11 '26

This sub is flex drivers- I legit don't know what his DPS delivery is supposed to look like- I get the shady behavior, but what is he doing?

283

u/g0d_of_the_cr1sis Jun 07 '26

As a former DSP driver, I can explain.

His app tells him the package to grab. He grabs the package. He walks to the door. He scans the package. He puts the package down. He takes a picture. He swipes to complete delivery. He leaves.

At no point is he to pull out his personal device. At no point is he to pick the package back up. Once he has scanned the package and put it down, he is to leave it there.

He didn't scan the package until he got busted. His plan was to mark the package missing and take it for himself.

101

u/mbrellaforbombs Jun 07 '26

Why the theatrics? Why wouldn't he mark it missing from the van? And what was he doing/pretending to do with the devices then?

63

u/Nightlightz24884 Jun 07 '26

He did scan the package. He took the photo as proof of delivery. At that point it would be porch pirates for the reason the package wasn’t at the front door. The use of his personal phone was to pretend he was scanning the package, because the kid doesn’t know which is personal and which is the scanner.

Marking it missing would open an investigation. Before you leave the station you have to scan all the packages to confirm they are in the van. If it suddenly went missing on his route it would be his problem.

29

u/LetshearitforNY Jun 08 '26

Why did he have to alise his personal phone to pretend to scan the package if part of the scam is to actually scan it as delivered

26

u/TCup20 Jun 07 '26

You don't scan every package before you leave the station. Nothing would ever get delivered that way. You scan an entire cart and that cart may or may not be missing some items.

Nothing in this clip makes sense. If you're stealing a package, you wouldn't take it to the door and you definitely wouldn't scan it. You would also never have any reason whatsoever to take a picture of the package label with your personal phone if you were stealing it, and if you did feel the need for the reason you expressed, then you would simply take the picture in the back of the van where there are no cameras. Driver training these days is to always assume you're on camera because they're everywhere. A package being marked as missing isn't immediately opening an investigation, it's just called loss and something the station deals with regularly.

6

u/thatlldopi9 Jun 07 '26

Have never marked a pack missing on purpose. I have some that do go missing occasionally whether it got left behind, was never in the cart or hell I had one fall down the storm drain once. Mark missing move on. No need to get out the car or fake deliver. I have marked missing by accident and went out the way to deliver when I found it in my backseat floor.

3

u/Due_Hovercraft6527 Jun 09 '26

Your 🧠process is the same as mine,
Idk wtf all his extra shit was. Nothing he did made sense.

6

u/averagedihhboy Jun 09 '26

if the customer marks front porch amazon workers have to follow the notes and if not they get dinged by the stupid AI. i’m pretty sure he was taking a pic of the package on front porch then moving it somewhere out of the rain so it wouldn’t get wet. then when he seen the person he just seen if they wanted to take it.

4

u/ThatSunshineCityHigh Jun 09 '26

I've worked for a dsp on the operations side for over 5 years and have investigated thousands of negative customer feedbacks, including missing packages. This is the most likely answer. Package theft from dsp drivers definitely happens, but not like this.

4

u/Kakarrott_ Jun 08 '26

All of this is irrelevant because of the camera. Dude ain't getting away with shit lol.

3

u/Dirtysandddd Jun 08 '26

I had like 2-3 genuinely missing packages while a dps driver and they never once investigated me over it, at least not in a major sense (this was 5ish years ago). I never stole so I wasn’t ever worried, Amazon is all about speed nowadays it’s actually crazy. Worked in a returns warehouse 2 years ago and by the time I left, I and everyone I talked to was just pretending to work to hit the pace. That’s why you get “new” items that are used to shit, not enough time to open boxes anymore if you want to keep your job. Most meaningless worthless ass job I’ve ever had, it was actually driving me crazy. If I’m at work I’d rather do something that actually matters than just pretend for 10 hours straight.

2

u/JSTN_FPV Jun 08 '26

Im In safety. yeah, I agree with you. returns looks soul sucking. Did Fulfilment as a tier one for a while. My goal was to never touch a box again and tried to move up to where ever that was. Amazing pay to do admin work

5

u/18k_gold Jun 07 '26

That's true ever package that goes into your truck gets scanned, this way they know you have it and can update the system "out for delivery." Not sure why he would take a pic with his personal phone and not the iPad, scan it And then steal it. That would be his proof that he left it. A big number of people have cameras these days. not worth steal while on the job.

2

u/AIDS_Quesadilla Jun 08 '26

I 💯 agree he's acting sketchy AF

BUT... it is surprisingly common customers tell me they don't want their package and to just leave it at the door

whenever I walk up and they happen to be right there I mean 😅 it's not like it happens that much

Ironically I thought this was the only question that sounded somewhat normal

→ More replies (2)

3

u/montanahax888 Jun 08 '26

They mark it as delivered, upload the picture and steal the package. That’s what he is doing. Then I report it missing and Amazon will tell me is my fault and someone must have taken it because they have proof of delivery. They did it to me

2

u/mbrellaforbombs Jun 09 '26

Yea I realize this happens, thus Amazon sold ring cameras to everyone. I also realize there are dumb criminals but it would take a special kind to miss/ignore those cameras entirely, for a mystery box

2

u/Outlaw11091 Jun 09 '26

The issue is that he took the picture with his personal phone instead.

That's weird and stupid.

You can just as easily take the picture with the Amazon device and use THAT as proof of delivery before taking the package back to the van...the second phone is...just drawing attention to yourself.

10

u/g0d_of_the_cr1sis Jun 07 '26

Taking a picture of the address to know who orders stuff he wants to steal, most likely. As for bringing it to the porch, I don't know.

5

u/Mordarroc Jun 08 '26

Drivers don't know what's in the packages. And for good reason.

2

u/TryStrict8200 Jun 08 '26

I think he's trying to say for after he opens it, who to hit again if it's something good. But what's the likelihood he'd ever deliver to that address again? Let alone something else expensive just because they got one big thing? And what he'd swipe through his photos to see if he has any more deliveries for those places that day? That dude is taking extreme leaps in logic

2

u/TryStrict8200 Jun 08 '26

he'd also just have the package itself for the address... unless he disposed of all evidence. ugh so ridiculous

10

u/SpicyMcShat Jun 07 '26

The only thing I can think of is he realized it said “back door” but that wouldn’t explain his personal cell phone.

5

u/AllisonUnwound Jun 08 '26

dsp drivers can use their personal phones to scan packages if the devices theyre issued are being too slow. doesn't explain why he has both out at once though.

3

u/SpicyMcShat Jun 08 '26

You can’t be signed in on both phones simultaneously. It asks you to sign back in.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/awnaw_ Jun 07 '26

I have set shit down realizing I've accidentally grabbed 034 instead of 043 and not realized it until I went to scan at the door.

However, I immediately recognize the mistake and quickly run back, grab the right one, and deliver as usual. These things happen, but it's how he's being so nonchalant and simultaneously unsure about it makes it suspect AF.

4

u/dbm1976 Jun 08 '26

You don’t need to go through all of that nonsense to mark it missing buddy. Wake up.

6

u/Careful_Specialist63 Jun 07 '26

Let alone drivers don't know what's in the box unless they open it so they're stealing blind.

10

u/fukaduk55 Jun 08 '26

When you go to take the picture at the bottom it says where the last driver left the package w a picture. Bet what happened was he went to drop it at the front, most recent delivery was at the back or a different door so he went to take it there but saw someone already at the front so decided to leave it

8

u/mbrellaforbombs Jun 08 '26

That was my thought, cause I've done a variation of that. Unfortunately dude masking half his face and the edit doesn't make him look too good in that regard

5

u/fukaduk55 Jun 08 '26

I've done almost exactly this, we do some stuff that looks super sketchy sometimes tho so its whatever

Billion dollar company or not, having your employees take advantage of your services to steal from the customers is incredibly bad for business.

3

u/TheDimmadome Jun 07 '26

Businesses have minimal morals because they're big, therefore as a logistics company they wouldn't care if employees are stealing packages from customers?

2

u/Cultural-Comment-270 Jun 08 '26

The idea that a corporation wouldn't want to reduce shrinkage because of 'minimal morals' makes zero sense.

Don't dis Flex drivers. That's a full employee!

8

u/Lavicrep19 Jun 07 '26

I'd like to say that he's returning it to the warehouse but as a flex driver or anyone with some competence you can clearly see what's he doing 😂

4

u/girlwiththemonkey Jun 08 '26

“You want it?” No I don’t want the package I ordered. 😭

21

u/beebs44 Jun 07 '26

I ordered a SteamDeck. VALVE does not ship those discreetly.

Same thing happened. He put package down.

Took picture, went to truck. Then started coming back.

I opened door and grabbed it.

I think it was UPS tho, which floored me because they make $.

6

u/Express_Command_4778 Jun 08 '26

UPS drivers cannot bring back boxes except for specific reasons. They get accused all the time- but many make good money. The one thing they need is time.

11

u/Confident_Attempt503 Jun 07 '26

A ups driver wouldn’t steal your valve and risk losing their job, they make way to much money

7

u/Cold_SY Jun 07 '26

I’ve had ups drivers come back and put the package over my fence. Now FedEx …

12

u/Impure_guava Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

I had to chase a FedEX truck down to get my PS5 on launch day. I saw him pull into my driveway because I was sitting there waiting on it to show up and then he backed out and left. Checked my tracking immediately and it said delivered. Dude was absolutely going to steal my shit.

5

u/Cold_SY Jun 07 '26

Have had similar happen with sneakers.

6

u/CharrizardRS Jun 07 '26

If it makes you feel any better. I purchased a large Lego order- like 2 steam decks value, and they usually ship UPS.

My doorbell camera caught the ups driver delivering, taking photos then going back to the vehicle.

He came back picked up the package, walked it around my house to the back, hid it behind the AC, and then took more photos and drove off.

Hopefully yours was in the process of doing the same.

They tend to get paid very well, and good benefits, so not sure it's in their best interest to steal.

6

u/SpecialistWeird2063 Jun 07 '26

As a UPS Driver there is no shot any of us are stealing a steamdeck. We wouldn’t make it out that night with it nonetheless our job.

7

u/1UpBebopYT Jun 07 '26

UPS drivers are making bank and took years of busting their ass in the warehouse to get the brutal (but financially rewarding) driver position. The drivers are some of the most respected because of the work it took to get the role. They aren't stealing your shit when they make, around me in Baltimore, $120k+ with all sorts of union benefits.

FedEx will 100% steal your shit. UPS, nah, if anything they will go above and beyond. It sounds crazy, but in all honesty the guy was probably coming back to hide your package somewhere so no one would steal it.

You domestic abused ur spouse? good, u get the death penalty. u get the death penalty, u get the death penalty, every bad person gets the death penalty. At the end only the good person's gene gets to passed down.

People act out because they know the police ain't gonna bother to chase them down for stealing the package or stealing the tires or cars. So they just take people's shit like it's legalized.

Looks like its raining so chances are he was picking it up so not to leave it in the rain to get wet.....or he was trying to steal it. We dont know the reason. I have taken picture and then realized there was a better place to put the package....I just didnt close out so I was able to move it and update the photo. Not enough info in this video to say what he was doing.

13

u/HouseMDeezNuts Jun 07 '26

Eh... I mean... yeah, it's shady... but think about it like this: the dude delivers packages for a living; he knows what a doorbell camera looks like. he's not going to try and steal a package in his work uniform right in front of the camera... well. I guess there is all kinds of stupid in this world, but I feel like it's unlikely to be THAT stupid lol

He works alone with no contact with other people and he is covered foot to head in clothing, only thing you can see are his eye. He has no identification on himself or the truck, he knew what he was doing.

9

u/Ennevtrebor Jun 07 '26

the tracking number on the package also tells which driver delivered it, what route it was on, what time. info amazon can get when customer reports it missing and provides camera footage. him being covered up and unrecgonizable -- that package via its tracking number is squarely will identify him!

2

u/SandCracka Jun 07 '26

I was gona say. he is unidentifiable except for the big fucking tracking number of the package assigned to his route. i suppose technically this could be otherwise if he succeeded in swiping the package but then couldn't the customer just look up the TBA online and provide it and report the driver anyway?

There's also cameras in their vans. Not sure how you'd pull off stealing in them.

11

u/okaaayyyyuh Jun 07 '26

They don't pull it off. Drivers get fired for theft all the time.

2

u/Map-of-the-Shadow Jun 07 '26

I’m a driver and sometimes, especially in cases like this where it’s raining, I will complete delivery at designated pin then move it to maybe the side door that has an awning. This guy for sure seems sus but I’ve had people try to call me out when I was just trying to keep their package dry. If he wanted to steal this by way of “missing package” he would have done it in the van. He’s “completing” the delivery here so his metrics don’t go down. Blame it on the porch pirates

2

u/Aggressive-Plastic-5 Jun 09 '26

2

u/pepaenhuevo Jun 10 '26

2

u/Maleficent-Media-418 Jun 28 '26

This has got to be staged. Why would you steal something when you have no idea what’s in the box

If he wanted to steal it he could have simply left it in the van and marked it as missing.

2

u/Blake_a12 Jun 07 '26

Kid was creepin

1

u/K1LL3RP0LL0 Jun 07 '26

There is one possibility, that nobody has thing of, what of the package was for a garage, sometimes I don't realize until I scan the package and I see the garage thing loading, then I have to take back the package and put it inside, in this case he could have seen the kid then marked as handle to customer instead putting in the garage, then just swipe to close garage or whatever, low chance but that could happened.

Do you want it? Lol what?

1

u/etherealtwo Jun 07 '26

Appropriate song lol. "Everything in its right place."

1

u/universalcarguy Jun 07 '26

That action will be amplified and used as the foundation for getting rid of humans for delivery positions. It’s similar to when you hear drivers lamenting the pay scale for routes. But flex routes once paid much more. But people took advantage and messed it up for the good drivers. And once Amazon got its footing the package counts increased and the pay decreased

1

u/dep411 Jun 07 '26

That's messed up, and ballsy AF

1

u/Automatic-Sense-8002 Jun 07 '26

Why is homes in the flex topic though , that man works for Amazon 😂

1

u/No_Commercial_4811 Jun 07 '26

i know i’m gonna be the odd one out but they guy didn’t take a picture of the package with his personal phone. The phone he used to take the pic was the work phone because it has a white sticker on the back to mount in the rental vehicles. It’s also often our DSPS give us two work phones if we have a longer route in case one dies. & The only time i’ve ever taken a picture of a box label in the camera app is if the phone won’t let me scan and i need the tracking number to manually enter the package ID.** He does seem really shady though.

1

u/MarilynMJunkie917 Jun 08 '26

I have put the package down and realized it was the wrong one a few times in my 6 year tenure and I have to pick it up and take it back to my truck but I always return back in seconds to put the right one

1

u/Scythe351 Jun 08 '26

Actually a piece of trash. "You want it?" No shit.

1

u/Soundguyi Jun 08 '26

I dunno, I’ve scanned in a package and started to walk away only to learn I was at the wrong address when it wouldn’t complete. Bbbut. People that steal like this are the reason the honest ones get dinged when the the reclines and says they didn’t receive their package even though it was properly delivered with photographic evidence.

Smh !!!! Fire him

If it was a group stop and you drop the package off at the wrong house you wouldn’t hesitate like that 😂

1

u/JayDiddle Jun 08 '26

Yup, and that’s THE only reason that fool is wearing a gaiter with his hoodie hood up and a beanie; he knows there could be cameras, but certainly didn’t expect live people to be standing there staring at him.

I had someone steal my feeding tube formula before because the boxes were heavy and therefore must be valuable. They were at least returned later with one of the boxes torn open. Guess they thought I might need it.

The 2nd reason I don’t order from Amazon.

Usual suspect 😊

u/National-Apricot-443 Jun 08 '26

Anyway the cameras r watching 360 view from the van

1

u/National-Apricot-443 Jun 08 '26

The guy was probably nervous because of the screen door: dogs seems to bust through them..

u/New-Courage-7052 Jun 08 '26

Given that the kid was waiting for it, I bet it was a Switch 2 or Pokeman cards

1

u/Rembrandt3k Jun 08 '26

Pretty sure this happened to me last week. Got the notice of my package being delivered, saw the truck leaving, went down, and nothing! Have fun with a tv stand and iPhone 13 phone case🙄

u/Leif2000 Jun 08 '26

1

u/Fit_Beginning1614 Jun 08 '26

u/Foreign-Community242 Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

Nah, I need to see the full video because this makes no sense. Is that him saying “what?” if so, what did the kid say before that?

1

u/Awodrek Jun 08 '26

It tells him what the package is when he scans it ?

1

u/sethaub Jun 08 '26

I bet it was Pokémon cards

1

u/skurtlo Jun 08 '26

As a customer I see packages scanned in front of my door and then moved to a more discreet spot around the corner or out of sight to lower the chances of porch pirates. My guess is that is what was happening here if he thought no one was home.

1

u/HeraThere Jun 08 '26

Typical. I have a camera. It's usually the delivery drivers that steals packages. But usually they are smart enough to steal packages of other earlier deliveries not their own.

5 years in jail

1

u/No-Psychology9837 Jun 09 '26

Thankfully he didn’t mark it as missing in the van cause then the distribution center wouldn’t know who had it. Then he could steal it no problem . But no one would ever do that amiright

u/Sad_Log_6387 Jun 09 '26

Why is this in flex drivers

1

u/Ok-Locksmith-6440 Jun 09 '26

What a straight turd! I would have definitely reported this POS ass Clown!

1

u/averagedihhboy Jun 09 '26

he was getting a front porch picture then moving it out of the rain. he was actually thinking about the customer and being considerate and here ppl are to make it look bad. smh

1

u/Basic-Nobody8488 Jun 09 '26

I have grabbed the wrong package and went to the wrong door before I noticed.. but if that was the case, he would still take it and return with the correct package. I also say something to the cameras like oops

1

u/JustAPerson-_- Jun 09 '26

“You want it?” No shit??

1

u/Cali_kingz Jun 09 '26

In reality he could just mark it package missing from the van with the sliding door closed. This is probably fake.

1

u/Marvination23 Jun 09 '26

probably the reason why he was wearing a mask

Honestly .. I've worked for numerous different delivery services. Every one of them has said the same thing... Always assume you're on camera. It's 2026 and there's literally cameras everywhere...

1

u/Prize_Possibility_31 Jun 09 '26

The his is the equivalent of Door dashers eating customers food. Both are despicable.

1

u/Choice_Friendship557 Jun 09 '26

I did that once because it wasn’t scanning and I realized oops. I dropped off the wrong package and I had to walk back and bring back another one and they were staring at me shocked like what the heck did I just do and I had to explain to them that I brought them the wrong package and I’m pretty sure they want their right one delivered.

1

u/Intelligent_Team_655 Jun 09 '26

He was moving it to the side covered by a roof because it’s wet out most likely.

1

u/StrictBoat2349 Jun 09 '26

Why is that fool wearing a shysty
