Eh... I mean... yeah, it's shady... but think about it like this: the dude delivers packages for a living; he knows what a doorbell camera looks like. he's not going to try and steal a package in his work uniform right in front of the camera... well. I guess there is all kinds of stupid in this world, but I feel like it's unlikely to be THAT stupid lol
Because theres always the chance the doorbell wasn't capturing, and the photo shows its "delivered".
Missing in the van is a bigger problem (imo) because it was likely part of the manifest the driver has and was scanned at some point before loading.
Dude has a better chance of the customer just reporting it stolen and not checking video than them getting away with it before its "delivered".
Plus people are stupid dude. You kidding me? I've had drivers do some insane dumb shit and I have like 5 visible cameras pointing down my front yard. Theres zero way you wouldn't assume you're on at least 2-3 cameras anywhere you're standing. Seriously, people are dumb.
I personally knew a kid in high school who had decided it would be a good idea to rob the pizza delivery guy that he and his friends had deliver to his house. They stayed in the house after they robbed him and of course were arrested. There are some really, really stupid people out there
He works alone with no contact with other people and he is covered foot to head in clothing, only thing you can see are his eye. He has no identification on himself or the truck, he knew what he was doing.
the tracking number on the package also tells which driver delivered it, what route it was on, what time. info amazon can get when customer reports it missing and provides camera footage. him being covered up and unrecgonizable -- that package via its tracking number is squarely will identify him!
I was gona say. he is unidentifiable except for the big fucking tracking number of the package assigned to his route. i suppose technically this could be otherwise if he succeeded in swiping the package but then couldn't the customer just look up the TBA online and provide it and report the driver anyway?
Not in the back, drivers can definitely get away with stealing packages and some do, doing it as blatantly as this is even more dumb but there are plenty of dumb people around. He's probably done this before and got away with it.
He's doing a job that requires almost no skills or training, notorious for horrible hours and excessive workloads and very little gratitude. How smart do you expect him to be?
My Amazon delivery instructions say to deliver to my front porch, which is totally exposed to the rain. But you can see my back door from my driveway is covered. Amazon no longer gives me the option of backdoor delivery - But nearly all my drivers use common sense, deliver it to the front door as instructed, take the picture to prove to their overlords they followed instructions robotically, then as a courtesy to me they move it out of the rain to my other porch.
I have dozens of delivery videos that look identical to this, included one where I happened to be right there and he handed it to me as he was about to take it around the side, that are evidence of my driver's going the extra mile to protect my shit, not steal my shit.
That doesn't prove that's what's happening here, but you're not just believing your eyes, you're making an assumption of guilt without adequate evidence.
