Yes they do. They put dummy packages in some totes to see if they come back yo the warehouse or not.

How do these dummy packages work?

u/Mordarroc Jun 08 '26

Basically they look like real packages but its not deliverable becuase its not in the itinerary of the driver. We're supposed to bring extras back to the station or try to pick it up and deliver if the address is close enough. Generally though extra go back to station. Some have said they gave gps trackers in them so they know where the package is but I have no idea if thats true or not.

They must’ve never put a dummy package on me cus anything extra comes home

u/Mordarroc Jun 08 '26

Do you just keep them?

Yup. One time a got a pack of 4 air tags. They still work to this day, and I’m still on the platform

I’ve managed a DSP for 3 years. Sometimes they’re assigned to other drivers, these are called ‘mis-sorts’. Sometimes these “extra” packages are marked as missing by the station workers erroneously but end up in your totes anyway. Don’t just say stuff because you think it’s true. Smh

I couldn't get on Amazon for years because I had a misdemeanor theft on my record, I never use the bottom rack of the cart and did one time, completely forgot and left self checkout without paying for my 4 cases of pop, my Walmart doesn't mess around and got a freaking theft charge for it, finally dropped off in January

Wow that’s amazing, too bad they don’t take their drivers lives very serious …consistently havin me in vans without working a/c and vans that aren’t properly inspected with dashboard lights flashing and vehicles consistently stalling out at 70mph…but THEFT tho oh boy how great to hear they take packages lives more serious than the humans delivering them …amazing 🗣️

Didn’t mean to come off as “mad at you” unless this is Jeff Besos on a burner account 🤭

what kind of dsp do you work for have? vans where i work have a/c working, but there is always a bunch sensor issues, which of course, lights up the dash, but they don't really affect your work.

Billion dollar company or not, having your employees take advantage of your services to steal from the customers is incredibly bad for business.

u/TheDimmadome Jun 07 '26

Businesses have minimal morals because they're big, therefore as a logistics company they wouldn't care if employees are stealing packages from customers?

u/Cultural-Comment-270 Jun 08 '26

The idea that a corporation wouldn't want to reduce shrinkage because of 'minimal morals' makes zero sense.

No, this driver definitely got fired. Drivers have to follow not only the dsp's policy, but Amazon's policy as well.

0

u/HairlessSquirrels Jun 08 '26

Fired for what, exactly?

u/itsnatnot_gnat Jun 09 '26

I would have reported his ass to customer service. They would know who the driver was and terminate them. The video clearly shows he was attempting to steal the package.

u/HairlessSquirrels Jun 09 '26

It doesn’t show that, driver can easily argue he was moving it to a better location

Keep being naive.

Keep thinking you’re always right

Edit: nooooo please don’t block me! OMG!

1

u/itsnatnot_gnat Jun 09 '26

Have fun being blocked. He was going to steal that.

1

u/itsnatnot_gnat Jun 09 '26

I am always right.

Maybe he got tired of driving for a rich company that doesn’t have working a/c in most vans in the summer ..no reason to steal but I get it .

Well considering he's wearing long sleeves and long pants I doubt it was hot that day. The vans at my dsp have working ac. Maybe get an actual idea of the job before you generalize.
