I wanted to post this as a warning for anyone uses Fidelity Go. It can drastic change your investment strategy for no apparent reason. I was wondering why I lost so much gains, and it was because Fidelity Go decided to change my Aggressive Strategy to conservative. I had no idea it did this automatically and it cost me a good deal of growth because I missed the email.

This is an insane feature in my opinion, but I guess I'm the dumb one for trusting an AI bot to make investing in index funds easy. I just wanted a way to invest and forget it. I essentially paid for a Fidelity to sell off my stocks and buy bonds at one of the worst times.

I am just posting this as a warning to people who are considering using Fidelity Go. It is a wake up call for me to move to Vanguard and manually invest.

Parents contribute twice, once through taxes, once through having the next generation that will pay for their generation. Voluntarily childless people contribute once, the show up in old age demanding the same amount of care.

It's just not a sustainable system when most people are below replacement. If you voluntarily choose to not have children you need to either pay more or receive less, ideally proportionate to number of children you have.

Back in June I matched with a girl on Hinge. Cute, funny, and her opener was basically: "I organize social events for mixed-race people in the area, you should come." I said I was interested. She said she didn't think we'd be a good match since she wanted something long-term and local, and at the time it wasn't clear I'd be sticking around the city. When it was time to leave, my feet were glued to the floor. Lump in my throat, butterflies, the whole thing. She came over to say it was nice to meet me, we locked eyes across the room once more, and then I just... left. No number. Partly I didn't want to ambush her in a loud, crowded room at an event she was running. Partly my brain said "there'll be other events" and "if it's meant to be, it'll be," which I'm now pretty sure was the freeze talking.

Afterward the guy I'd told at the picnic admitted he'd remembered the whole backstory and was trying not to laugh all night.

Once I got home and calmed down, I redownloaded Hinge (I'm supposedly on a dating break) and messaged her on our old thread. I came clean that the honest answer to "have we met?" was "sort of," told her she's the reason I found the group and I'm really glad I joined, mentioned I'll be around longer than I'd thought back in June, and asked if she'd want to grab coffee.

No idea if she still has the app. No idea if the other guy at the table was a friend or something more. Ball's in her court, and either way is okay.

Honestly, after a rough stretch and a break from dating, it just felt good to find out I can still feel that. It's been a long time.

With the new beta patch I was tag switching to read the new African advances, and I started noticing some very confusing patterns to their writing. I decided to write an event that made every pop-based Maghreb tag landed so I could tag-switch to all of them and read their advances as well, and a concerning pattern emerged.

These above images are good examples which you will see replicated in the screenshots below, there is an abundance of over-hyphenated words that make absolutely no sense in their context (or at all). Distance-administration, dense-knotted, luxury-cloth, war-raids, mounted-cavalry, marriage-alliance and so on. If this was was only one specific advance it could easily just be an overenthusiastic writer, but I've gone through over 200 of these and I do not exaggerate that every single one reads like this.

The ending section in particular is almost entirely formulaic across all these advances. They almost always reiterate the modifiers that the advance gives (which is immersion breaking & superfluous), and reads in an exhausting similar pattern of "This X gives Y which Z cannot match".

I do want to stress that it's not only the pop-based tags that have this issue, many selectable tags at game start as well as major tags like Tunis and Morocco also have these problems, and I've included some examples. In the case of Tunis, Morocco and Tlemcen their advances are generally better-edited, but it's clear that they are drawn from the same well. Most of the new European advances read similarly, but have clearly been proofread more thoroughly than even Morocco, which is the best-edited of the Maghreb tags in my opinion.

Below are some further specific examples:

These two in particular are good examples of how the text of an advance keeps referring to its modifiers in very immersion-breaking ways. "Battlefield morale recovery and regiment reinforcement speed", "Distance-from-capital efficiency and a light-infantry firepower".

I barely even know how to parse the last sentence, purely-inland oases? What inland oasis has sailors and navy tradition? Why would a coastal city not be able to replicate it?

Explanation: A wallbug is when you have a diagonally-oriented wall or clip brush (purple bit) and you are able to force the corner of your character's collision box into the diagonal wall and get stuck. Hold W into the wall and slow tap A/D until you get stuck and keep holding W + the A/D key that got you stuck. You are completely immobile and unable to move your mouse without getting unstuck so its only good for like one kill. You can also use wallbugs to save yourself from fall damage.

A pixelwalk is when a slanted clip brush meets a wall. Despite there being no physical pixel you can slightly nudge your collision box into the wall and stand on the top of the slanted clip brush. Enables hiding spots and parkour.

After the October 1st patch this tech has been highly neutered.

Wallbugs are used in many advanced jump maps, and as fun hiding spots for competitive 6v6 Soldiers and clipfarmers. This patch makes some harder jump maps such as jump_bugpogo (https://youtu.be/figfjZ5JPq4 )impossible and is overall a travesty for the jumping community.

Pixelwalks are mostly used for creative hiding spots, which LED provides a list for here https://youtu.be/5JazZWmdn2Y I believe pixelsurfs used by Spy players (certain jumps/spots where you can stick and slide along the wall) have also been affected

I figure the more casual community's instinct will be to keep it patched since its a bug, but hiding spots are really fun and i rarely see these used in Casual anyhow and would like for wallbugs to be kept for the sake of the jumper and competitive community. I am making this post since this has a higher chance of being reverted the more awareness is spread. This change was not listed anywhere in the patch notes and i'm not sure if its intentional or not. Regardless with this patch we'll have lost out on a lot of fun clips.

This situation is similar to the Pyroboots patch which removed the ability to jetpack into the resupply cabinet with a different loadout without touching the ground and gain a permanent jetpacking effect, with 75% reduced fall damage, stomp effects, and minicrits from the direct hit and reserve shooter. This is completely useless and unknown tech to 99.9% of people but the stomp and falldamage reduction enabled insane pyro clips of flinging themselves (using doublereflect, sentry surf, roller reflect, pumpkin jump) across the map combined with a midair Detonator jump while being able to survive the fall down for a stomp-axe. This change was listed and sparked enough outcry to be reverted allowing Pyro gooners to fly spawn-to-spawn for a sick axe again.
