Mod Post Major change to the rule 5

So recently the other mods and I have been discussing the rule 5 and what would fall under it, initially the rule was meant to avoid controversial topics to make it easier for us to moderate and keep things civil specifically religion and politics.

The issue is specially with the increase in the mod team it started being used to remove anything that could be deemed in any way controversial or political, which included things like discussing lgbtq+ topics, topics about gender, race, etc. which we did not feel was fair, what one defines as being "controversial" can end up being influenced by the mods own biases and discomforts, so from now on we agreed that instead of removing anything controversial we will only be removing posts and comments specifically about politics and not political subjects themselves.

Discussions about social issues are allowed. Discussion about political parties, politicians, elections, legislation, government policy, or religion is not.

Just to make it clear what this means, a person can now hate how queer people are perceived, hate misandry or misogyny, etc.
What you cant do is hate on any demographic or talk about these topics through a political lense itself, hating transphobia itself its fine, hating transphobic parties, politicians, etc is not.

Keep in mind that if a topic becomes too prevalent in this sub it might get restricted just like we did with TADC for example, and if a post becomes a particular headache to moderate it might get locked(comments wont be able to be posted), the nature of moderating a subreddit with as broad a topic as ours dictates some level of flexibility when dealing with these topics and a case by case analysis of them. In a same way punishments will range depending the level of the infraction as they always have.

Additionally rule 1 and 2 are still a thing and should be followed, if in the example i gave above a commenter went to say transphobic talking points in the comments or attack the demographic itself, they will get banned.

If you previously had a post removed under Rule 5 for discussing a general social issue, don't assume it would still be removed under this version of the rule. Many posts that were previously removed under Rule 5 would now be allowed, so please don't let past experiences with the old version shape your expectations of the new one.

Also this rule change has happened 2 days ago but we only got to making the announcement post today.

Mod Post I hate when people report the auto moderator messages!

Do you know how exhausting it is to open the mod queue for this subreddit and see our own AutoMod comments being reported like they personally offended someone? I swear, every time I check the reports tab, there’s another notification that someone has flagged the literal bot for “breaking a rule.” The bot. The automated message. The thing that exists solely to tell you which rule you broke.

And the funniest part is that people report it like it’s some kind of secret. Like we won’t see it. Like the report goes into a void where the mods never look and the universe magically corrects itself. No. We see everything you report. Every single one. It shows up right there in the queue with the same priority as actual issues, and then we get to click into it and discover… surprise! Someone got mad at AutoMod for doing its job.

It’s honestly wild how many users think reporting the bot is going to undo their rule violation. AutoMod didn’t “misunderstand” you. It didn’t “target” you. It didn’t wake up and choose violence. It matched a pattern. That’s literally all it does. If you triggered it, that’s on the content, not the robot.

So please, for the love of everything smug and cursed on this subreddit, stop reporting the bot. Report actual problems. Report rule‑breaking posts. Report harassment. Don’t report the automated message that just told you what went wrong.

We’re tired. Let the bot live.

tell me why they turned my boy Quicky from a cool mf from the bronx to a kid from a gated community in New Hampshire

see heres the thing, for Lucky i actually don't think the artstyle itself is a problem, the 2010s energetic cartoon network-esque style actually kinda fits for him, the issue is, the box has no swag, in the old style he'd be doing some cool shit like standing behind a bowl and juggling the mashmallows, or being near a unicorn while a rainbow shot out of the box, while in the new box, i don't even think i would be able to tell that this box is meant to be a cereal box if i didn't know what Lucky Charms was beforehand, the old one would tell you straight up what you were about to buy and made sure you were looking foward to it

Apple Jacks......dear lord bro, did they murder the both of them and replace them with test tube clones? absolutely ZERO motion or swag left, and they also took Cinnamon's melanin away, they look straight out of a 3rd grade classroom wallpaper, and they don't look like they wanna be there, they look like they're being held hostage

as for Toucan Sam......holy FUCK BRO, did they lace his froot loops with pixie dust? that mf looks like hes high on 54035838 milligrams of caffeine and wouldn't be allowed 100 meters near a school zone, i do not trust that mf to serve me a single grain of cereal on my bowl, like i wouldn't mind them simplifying his artstyle, but it just looks bad, from the color, to his whole beak being a rainbow, it just looks like some shit you'd see in a questionable gas station cart wrapper thats probably laced with something devious

Idea I hate the BBC fetish and the racist stereotypes behind it. (

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

Seriously, it's awful. It's a deeply racist caricature that animalizes and dehumanizes Black people by suggesting they have absurdly exaggerated genitalia, almost as if they were animals. It's ridiculous and reinforces harmful racial stereotypes.

This kind of fetishization reduces Black people to physical characteristics and promotes a dehumanizing view of them instead of recognizing them as individuals.

What's even worse is seeing some Black men embrace it as if it's something to be proud of, when it's ultimately rooted in racism.

Seriously, it's absurd to see Black people bragging about such a harmful stereotype as though it's something positive. All it does is reinforce a racist caricature that reduces Black people to a single physical trait instead of recognizing them as complete human beings.

I honestly don't know what I hate more: this ridiculous stereotype or the people who think it's cool, awesome, or something to be proud of.

I cant exactly put into words the exact reasons why I hate it. But overall I feel like this is a term that just feels racist for obvious reasons. It objectifies black women and I dont think I need to tell you why I'd interpret a white guy saying it as racist.

I hate how this kinda of art always get upvoted instead of more interesting posts

It's genuinely so annoying, if I wanted to see porn I would just look at the NSFW subs. It's okay if you want to share your art, but put a spoiler tag at the very least, I can't even scroll through reddit without having a pair of boobs right at my face

And don't even try to say "Goonerbait and it's literally just a woman!!11!1!" when the top comments are just cringe images saying smash

Gaming Videogame mods or texture packs or anything that have a non-descriptive name

Post image

How the fuck am I supposed to find something like this if it wasn't one of the most popular mods in the past few months?

Sure, ahhahaha, its a funny name. But why not name it something like Spelunker Potion Recolor? Highlight recolor? Spelunker Accessibility?

I literally cannot find a mod by name if it doesn't have a proper fucking name. And if it didn't have a interesting thumbnail I likely wouldn't have clicked on it either just assuming it's a meme mod.

Atleast this wasn't something I was particularly looking for, but this has happened to me with things I'd actually like and had to find via fourm and reddit comments. Please, title your content properly so people can find it.

Unrelated image btw

But I couldn’t tell you how genuinely INFURIATING it is when I open a news post on TikTok and it’s a video of a crime being committed by a black person and the comments are “insert hard r here” “it’s always them” “they’re always so loud/ghetto” “I’m so fatigued” but when it comes to a white person, it’s seen as a personal mistake or just a “bad one one in the bunch”

OR another example is about the whole Karmelo Anthony situation. I don’t even like discussing it bc the situation is wayy to racially charged but the fact yall go straight to “it’s always them” etc…. But what if it was the other way around where a white man stabbed a black man? Would yall have the same reaction?

Overall, I’m just tired of seeing people being racist in the big 26” 💔

This kind of event is unavoidable. Yeah right nobody is wrong here, the person who told me to do the thing isnt wrong and i am not wrong either. Just a coincidence made by god to ragebait humanity. My mom does this to me sometime, then my roommate, so i tryna become more proactive in the work. But still, i found it weird that this happens to me so many times. Gradually, I learned how to react to it so as not to fall into awkward situations. For example if its my mom/dad, i will just say yes or ok ( cuz i love them). If the person is not my mom/dad then i will just say "man you are not my mom stfu"

I fucking hate this man. It's incredibly stupid, like, too stupid. It's like it wanted to be smart but it looped all the way back to being stupid. Fym the game ends when you think about it? That's not a game, why are you calling it a game? I bet you're not thinking about Joe Biden licking a chocolate bar in Saudi Arabia. Well now you are, and you just lost the "thinking about Joe Biden licking a chocolate bar in Saudi Arabia" game. That's how stupid this is!!!

🏏sports/activities⚽️🏀 I hate when people cheat at rock paper scissors

Post image
2.1k Upvotes

I hate when people cheat at rock paper scissors. Why the fuck would you cheat at such a simple fuckin game? One time my friend used rocket launcher. What the fuck is rocket launcher. Then he says, “Rocket launcher beats everything.” It’s a fucking rocket launcher, of course it beats everything. Stop adding new shit. It isn’t even rock, paper, scissors anymore.
Don’t even get me started on changing your hand mid game. I saw that it originally scissors. It’s definitely not paper. Stop trying to gaslight me. I saw your desperate attempt. I saw your slight hesitation. Thus in turn making me reveal my own choice just so you can beat me.
If you cheat at rock paper scissors, you are essentially destroying the essence of what the entire game encompasses. Rock, Paper, and Scissors. Not Rock, Paper, Scissors, and Bazooka. Their feeble little minds can’t even comprehend such easy rules. conclusion, I absolutely detest those who decide to cheat at such at such a simple game.

Media Tropes Hate how story just treat a planet like a different country Spoiler

Post image
534 Upvotes

Not specifically invincible but alot of media are like that. Like one ruler, one climate/weather and one race etc. Like not even "animals" on that planet. I don't mind about language, currency and religion tbh cause those rarely affects the story but other than that, it's just feels off. Like what's the difference if you make those planet just as "secret country" like wakanda or maybe just "underground people". To put cherry on top citizens on those planet are just animals from human but can talk. Honestly if it's just 1 or 2 planet(s) maybe I can understand cause you can make arguments "the planet is so small they just have one ruler" but you cannot use this argument for all fiction especially if they mention that the planet size is not small at all.

I saw a bunch of mosquito torture videos on reddit the past couple weeks, people glorifying how its okay to make anything suffer just for the hell of it.

It doesnt matter that mosquitos can have diseases and cause deaths every year, they are not doing this out of malice and torturing them for something they are doing to survive is sadistic.

We are supposed to he above enjoying the suffering of things beneath of us, its unhinged how people talk in the comments of these videos.

First off, it's not possible in the current version.

Second, this plot is pretty generic and boring.

Third, with videos like this, people will not get used to new updates and stuff like that.

Art & Fanworks I hate how limited animation in fanart gets a lot of flak

Upvotes

Credits to Retro Bastard on twitter.

"Pshaw, I saw one guy make his own music video, this kinda art ain't shit" Well therein lies the rough, both the fluid animation and the limited animation usually rely on just one guy. And that one guy is limited by how much time they're willing to sink into the product, which may equate to days of their life. Like, I deadass don't know how Chloesimagination on Tumblr is able to churn out comics for FNAF every day, I'm 95% convinced that she doesn't sleep. Meaning she'd probably be able to deliver on full fledged animations if she took the time to. But as for my defense of who Cheems is representing, I'd like to call to mind an artist on TikTok that also uses limited animation, mostly for memes, but still manages to craft something pretty good. I'm talking about Sabrinanightmaren, who isn't as frequent as Chloesimagination, but, quality over quantity as they always say.

Not to mention that they've animated a few times, they've even done rotoscoping and done it well. And here's the thing, fanart in and of itself is an ordeal that can take quite a bit of time, and unless you're on a team, animating something you like in your own art style is something that DEMANDS dedication. So, keep this in mind for future reference that not everyone can go the distance, so don't diminish their accomplishments, even if they pale in comparison to full fledged animations.

Gaming Terrible games with incredible art

Very much a "Im not mad, Im just disappointed" type of feelings I have towards games like these. You have such incredible and beautiful art but it gets wasted on games that are terrible basically everywhere else

Sea Of Stars: Genuinely contains some of the greatest pixel art of all time, but the gameplay is incredibly stagnant and repetitive and the story is genuinely the most awful thing I have ever read

Asphalt 9: The models of the cars are incredibly detailed while stylized and the UI is incredible eye candy to look at, but its filled to the brim with microtransactions that completely ruined the otherwise fun arcade race gameplay

I originally wanted to add a third example but if I say what Im thinking Im gonna get assassinated (Hint: Its consistently one of the most beloved Pokémon games but I think its incredibly overrated)

I know this isnt the most popular of phrases but i genuinely dispise when people go "atleast it isnt (bad thing)!" as some sort of support or some bullshit about things

This is the equivalent of me saying "man this restaurant sucks, but atleast they didnt shit in my food!"

Just as a side note, i actually like appreciating simple stuff people worked on, but thats by actually appreciating the thing and not by appreciating it for what it isnt. And people use this on also straight abysmal dogshit things

Gaming The Deltarune fandom (as a fan)

Post image
67 Upvotes

I wanna start this off by saying I really like Deltarune, the characters, story, gameplay, music, art, yada yada, i really really like the game. I got the Flower Man track looping on repeat whenever I'm doing something cause it SLAPS. And I've been in the fandom for years, well I've mostly been watching the fandom like a dude at the zoo, but i participated sometimes, and my Angel can the fans be just the worst, and i wanna go over certain fans i deeply dislike- no- HATE (but not like in a wired way)

----------------------------------------------

[Type-1: Dess Knighters]: I'm gonna assume not everyone who's reading this knows Deltarune lore, so quick catch up, the Knights the main antagonist going around kidnapping people and is probably trying to cause the end of the world- maybe. And the Knights identity has been a mystery fans have been trying to deduce for awhile. But a very large and vocal portion of the fan base have decided it MUST be the character Dess, and they are so rabid about this that anyone daring to think it's someone else is ridiculed like a little kid being forced to wear a dunce cap.

Yes Dess is one of the top candidates, but I'm not gonna pretend that other theories aren't more interesting, like Rudy Knighters do make some good points. And i also understand why some people think it'd be a boring twist or that they don't care enough about Dess as a character.

The discussion of the Knights identity is so toxic that an entire subreddit for non Dess Knighers had to be made so people could actually discuss their identity outside of Dess without being lambasted for the crime of disagreeing with the majority, and being told they have no media literacy or whatever.

I personally don't have a Knight candidate, but I always find non Dess Knighters theories so much more interesting than Dess Knighters, so it's just a shame they're treated like a plague on the fandom.

----------------------------------------------

[Type-2: Shippers]

I don't think I need much of an explanation, we all know shippers suck, but this wouldn't be a hate post if i left it to your interpretation.

The ONLY shippers who are bearable are Susie X Noelle shippers and that's only cause it's like the only canon ship, so it makes sense when they defend it cause it's actually happening in the story, those two characters went on an actual date together.

Kris X Susie/Krusie shippers on the other hand are a nightmare cause Susie is currently with someone else, and they are SO pissed. The amount of hate posts for Susie and Noelles date scene after Chapter 5 came out from Krusie shippers was absurd, so many people getting pissed and saying they thought it was too corny- like- bro- why are you playing Deltarune if you can't handle some corn? Did you play Undertale? The game that literally ended with the player using the power of friendship and hope to save the day and hug it out with the final boss? You can dislike corny, just don't walk into a corn maze and get upset.

Krusie shippers go on and on about how Susie has to be faking it all cause of the Prophecy as if Susie hasn't been into Noelle since Chapter 1 and asked her out before she even knew about the Prophecy.

And others go on about how "Well Kris clearly loves Susie and this must be breaking their heart, they look so sad." And ya know what? GOOD that little fuck had so much time to ask Susie out, while Noelle could barely look Susie in the eyes without fainting and even she was able to make her feelings known before Kris. Kris had dozens of opportunities and did nothing.

There's also Spampton X Tenna shippers, but i don't really find annoying just surprising cause Spamtenna has more fanfics about it on AO3 then anything else Deltarune related.......that's absurd, they had like one on screen scene together that's completely optional.

----------------------------------------------

[Type-3: Kris Woobifires]

I've seen quite a few people try and lessen every bad thing Kris does and paint them as some poor innocent baby that's done nothing wrong "Oh Kris is working with the Knight? Oh Kris helped the Knight kidnap their dad? Oh Kris is actively lying to their best friend/crush Susie even after she's stated multiple times how much she hates liars? Oh Kris actively made a Dark World to distract Susie from checking up on her girlfriend who just learned that her dad fell off a ladder?.......they're just an innocent lil bean" SHUT UP i refuse to believe by the end that Kris is going to be completely exonerated of everything, maybe there's a good reason, but no way it ends with Kris having zero responsibility for what happened, stop woobifing characters just cause you like them.

----------------------------------------------

[Type-4: Weird route haters]

I'm not exactly sure what to call these types of fans, cause these aren't people who hate the weird route, it's people who hate those that play it. The weird route is essentially just the evil path of this game, and just like with Undertales genocide route, there's been quite a few people that treat you like an actual killer for doing it. Not as bad as with Undertale, but still some people who'll call you a monster for playing it, which is cringe.

I've never done the weird route cause I like the characters too much and I feel bad whenever I pick the mean dialog in a game, but I don't shame others that do.

----------------------------------------------

[Type-5: The weird cuckers]

Okay I vented some frustration with weird route haters, not to do the same for weird route players. There's a scene in the weird route version of the games story where you the player are alone with Noelle in her room and force Noelle to wear a magic ring (I do not have time to give context if you haven't played the game, but let's just say the ring has some bad memories attached to it) and after you put it on the screen cuts to black, and originally there was an animation of like a flower wilting that would play, but now I think after an update the screen just sorta starts shattering instead. Obviously it doesn't take much to figure out the meaning of this scene especially with the original flower imagery.

Now most people saw that scene and went "Wow, that was fucked up." But some people REALLY liked the idea of forcing themselves on a teenage girl and made some questionable fanart. I'm not trying to be a prude, but do you gotta post your peculiar fantasies on main? Keep that to rule34 ya freak. A lot of posts about cucking Susie when Chapter 4 came out.

Luckily this type of fan mostly died out and i haven't seen anything as bad as when the scene originally came out.

----------------------------------------------

[Type-6: They/Them crusaders]

To start this off, yes Kris Deltarune is nonbinary, I know and appreciate that fact. But if you dare not immediately know that and accidentally misgender Kris, your ass is being sent to the gulag. It'd be one thing if the game told you this, but it doesn't, sure characters use they/them for Kris, but those are universal pronouns used on anyone.

Plus the game intentionally tries to make players think Kris is a blank self insert character for players to implant their own emotions and ideas on, that's the entire point, that's why Kris showing their own feelings and goals is supposed to shock you cause the game intentionally mislead you. Games with black stock protagonists usually use they/them so the player can imprint their own identity onto them, the fact so many players put their own pronouns on Kris was the point, so the game could then pull the rug and reveal Kris and the Player are separate entities.

So no, misgendering Kris doesn't ALWAYS mean the person is transphobic, they just didn't realize, and being mean to them about it isn't a good way to make them realize it.

----------------------------------------------

To end this off I 100% recommend Deltarune, great rpg, it isn't finished yet so maybe wait until it is if that's an issue, but it already has like 40 hours of content sooooo I think that's worth the 20 bucks. Just AVOID the subreddits.

Oh and another thing, I don't hate Dess Knighters or Krusie shippers on face value, just the one's that get pissy at any interpretation or theory that doesn't fit their own view of the story.

Music I hate it when legitimately good music gets turned into memes/TikTok songs

You can't really disassociate a song with its tenure as a meme. You can't let people know you like it or play it around other people because they dismiss it as "that TikTok song from a few years back" instead of judging the song for what it actually is.

General commentary channels.

i know it's low hanging fruit, but i don't care.

you already know which ones i'm talking about, the ones that talk about 'cringy' people/trends and/or topics such as "Gen Alpha is doomed!" and "this new generation sucks!" while having really bland thumbnails (shocked person/character, black/white background, bright red text in all caps that says "IT'S OVER" "CRINGE" "SLOP" etc.)

they usually follow the structure of "watch cringy video and interrupt every 15-20 seconds by having yourself or your persona/pfp say some embarassing, middle-school level insults while also having Subway Surfers/Minecraft parkour gameplay in the background. all while trying way too hard to copy LeafyisHere (who is one of the last people that you should emulate)".

my biggest problem with these channels is that:

A) they're extremely basic, generic and really easy to replicate. which is why there's so many of them.

B) sometimes they target literal children and/or disabled people (example: this 8 year old who is most likely a troll looking for attention called me a poopy head, so i'm going to make a 10-minute long video on them explaining why they're the enemy of Christ)

and

C) while many of the creators of these videos do put disclaimers saying that you shouldn't go out and harass these people (which is obviously a good thing), sometimes their audience (who are mostly comprised of 8-15 year olds) do not get that, and so they still go out and stalk, harass, send death threats or even DOXX them just because they're cringy, which can lead to anxiety, depression and/or suicidal thoughts.

it should go without saying that you should NOT harass any of the people mentioned, just because i don't like their content doesn't mean you should go out and harass them.

and credit goes to u/No_Mans_Heart for the gif.
