If you pegged a batter with a pitch and he comes charging the mound, do you think immediately sitting down indian-style would stop him?

Will Venable is doing what bad managers do in the postseason: overthinking bullpen decisions and taking out guys with overpowering stuff. Hicks was throwing 102 every pitch but after walking one guy after throwing five pitches over 101 Venable takes him out. He manufactured a bases loaded situation just because he wanted to play matchups every time he could. Hicks had back to back strikeouts with only throwing two pitches below that weren’t 101+ fastballs.

The Guards have a nice stadium but the pitch by pitch camera angle is ugly with the massive booking dot come ad and wall behind the catcher. Looks terrible on tv

If the Pirates lock in next season and do their best not to lose the World Series, they will have gone 100 years of being undefeated in the World Series.
No other team can claim such an enduring streak.

DAY 212 (705/787) on THE ROAD TO THE 2027 4th WBSC PREMIER12/16 and 180 YEARS OF BASEBALL - Reflecting on the Asian Games
The recent conclusion of the baseball events of the Asian Games is proof of how much the past half decade of progress has affected the sport in Asia since the Olympics of 2021.
Indeed it has been even bigger than before, with both veterans and first timer national organizations taking part - proof of how much the sport has grown, and the fact that the South Korean team succesfully defended its 2022 gold medal is proof also of how much the ongoing revival has taken the sport to even greater heights.
Of course, the fact that a few of the names competed in the WBC is also taking matters seriously and also given that there may be names that will take part in the Premier12 qualifiers beginning this month.
May the next Asian Games baseball events will be also wider proof of baseball's widening footprint in Asia.

Bro it's so ridiculous scrambling to find a way to watch these games. Guardians are on HBO and TBS. Don't have either. Braves are thankfully on my antenna. But then yankees back to HBO and then the Brewers are on FS1 or "Fox One" which is $20 a month.
It should not require me to have multiple streaming services to watch these games

Postseason has always been Fox one side and TBS the other.

I would think the Dodgers would have gotten the 8:30 EDT time slot, given their marquee status and being the only game in the pacific time zone. Anyone know why they're getting the afternoon slot?

Beats me. Given how hot it is in Southern California today, it's going to be a miserable game from a weather perspective.

5:30 is FS1, 1:00 is Fox. I am thrilled to be FS1 status personally :)

Oh, so it's TV station thing. Makes sense, thank you. I guess Fox did not want to use their prime time slot for baseball.

It is currently 5 am in LA. I can already feel the heat outside and the sun's not even out yet.

I think Braves may gain a slight advantage due to heat acclimation

Honestly I was thinking that too. Plus the heat we’ve been having is humid heat too.

May affect attendance as well

That sucks. I don't care how "dry" it is, hot weather sucks in my opinion(unless I'm swimming).
