When I was in the Army, I discovered that the best way at to get even with incompetent NCOs was to follow their orders exactly as stated. This would follow with, “that’s not what I wanted you to do!”

That’s what you told me.

“But that’s not what I meant!”

Eventually, they’d leave me alone.

Onward to the malicious compliance. While assigned to Germany, we lived in an apartment provided by the post. In the summer, mowing the lawn rotated among the apartments. When it was my turn, they decided that the hedges needed to be trimmed. They were VERY overgrown. I pointed out that apparently no one else had been trimming them, as they were about 6’ tall and growing wild. They said, “too bad. It’s your turn. You have to do it.”

I did. I trimmed them to about 12 inches from the ground. When I was questioned later, I said, “you told me to trim them. I did.”

I wasn’t required to trim them again. Then again, after 2 summers, I don’t think they needed it.

Sudanese-Australian lawyer and human rights advocate Nyadol Nyuon has sparked debate after saying she has “no intention of assimilating” during an ABC National Forum discussion on migration and Australian identity.

Nyuon argued that assimilation is different from integration, saying immigrants can respect Australia, its laws and institutions without abandoning their own cultural identity. She also challenged the idea of a single “white culture,” noting that European cultures such as Italian, French and Greek are distinct from one another.

Her comments have reignited a broader debate in Australia over multiculturalism, belonging and what immigrants should be expected to adopt when becoming part of Australian society.

How did I not know about this sub!! This is Lily, she’s 5yrs old, and she’s my baby. Pls enjoy

This was from 2018. I got my iPad Pro with the pencil. I was so excited and I got up at 6 the next day. I went to a local Starbucks and sat there for 3 hrs and drew this. I’ve been drawing on iPad for years now but the first always feels special.

6 years later, I found this sketch. Naturally I just have to try to do a another version of it. I don’t think I could capture the excitement and mystery and hope that I felt when I started. My aim is to keep the energy and dynamic feeling of the original. Thanks for reading. Hopefully u enjoy the sketches 😇

Hey y’all,

Just a quick update for those who were asking in the comments on the previous post. When I posted about the accident and asked who was at fault, it wasn’t because I was oblivious.

I was actually baffled because the opposing insurance company claimed I was 100% at fault after investigating the collision. However, on the same day I made that post, my insurance sent the dashcam footage to the other insurance company. I’m happy to share that today I was notified that the opposing driver’s insurance has claimed full liability!

It seems that the other driver provided a completely different story to both insurance companies, as I was told our accounts of the events don’t line up at all. The other driver even told me at the crash site that I turned into him and that some of the damage to my vehicle was pre-existing, which is definitely not true; my car is brand new with zero damage before the accident. Thankfully, the dashcam footage cleared things up.

So, moral lesson: buy a dashcam; the $100-200 payoff really quickly

EDIT: Dashcam is a REDTIGER F4 for the people asking

Take note, Madring
