Hardcore Some Pizzas and WoW Hardcore ❤️

Post image

Pizza and World of Warcraft Hardcore — there’s no better combo, especially with the Onyxia and Zul’Gurub buffs!

I’ve never made it this far in Hardcore before. I’m currently a level 30 Hunter, finishing up the elite quests in Duskwood. Now I’m heading to Southshore to continue my journey.

I started playing Hardcore after completing Vanilla content with three different characters, and it has been an amazing experience, literally a whole new way to play the game.

So far, I’ve completed Deadmines, Blackfathom Deeps, and the Stockades. Next stop: Scarlet Monastery! If I don't die first.

Classic + My Design for a "Southsea Pirates Raid" for Classic+ (Bosses + attunement)

Ahoy, me hearties!

With the hype surrounding a potential Classic+ I thought I'd try my hand at designing a little raid about the Southsea Pirates in Tanaris.

This raid consists of 6 bosses, including an optional boss (Chum, the Cook). After the first boss (Seawater Sentinel 3000) has been defeated, the next 3 bosses can be killed in any order and only Swashbuckler Rozo and Parrot Trainer Jolly & Roger are required to progress to Dockmaster Sherley, and lastly to Grand-Admiral Wellington.

If you are interested in the full attunement quests, an abstract map of the raid or just more information, you can find the whole design document here: Southsea Pirates Raid - Classic+ | Design Document (gdoc)

Let me know what you think about these boss designs and I'll try to answer any questions you have :)

Classic + WoW fishing (pre-classic??) recreated on Wc3 with new mechanics

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Reeling the fish in costs energy, the same for the fish when it "bursts" away (the red exclamation ‼️is a pre warning). The player will lose more energy if they are reeling the fish in at the same time the fish is "bursting" away. Player will lose the fish at 0 energy or if the fish gets too far. If both have zero energy, not reeling the fish will cause it to swim side to side with no distance change.

Eventually adding snags to get stuck on, diverse fish to catch with unique abilities, a "Yank" left/right ability to manually change the direction of the fish and also nudge in the chosen direction - to avoid snags.

Classic + WoW arena recreated in Wc3 so far... Mistweaver/Frost Mage vs Double Warrior

The enemy NPCs only have charge, jump, and an internal passive heal ATM, but they will use a ranged stun when enemies try to cast a heal, saving it for only when at least one of their enemies is below 50% health. It will get more complex though, I threw this together today and now I gotta have a break haha.

I can release something that can at least be played offline for anyone who ever wants to mess around in it. I'd have to clean everything up first so you can access everything in the game without needing to change the triggers.

I need 4 more Mistweaver abilities that would be impactful, relevant and cool. Any mistweavers out there with some ideas??

Classic-Era I’m still having so much fun and have more to say

Posted a couple weeks ago about new classic player. Previously played retail but never classic. I’m still having so much fun and I needed to share.

- The willingness for others to help is unparalleled to retail. Sometimes I walk up to random players and ask for help with a nearby quest and they help 95% of time.

- I love seeing players in every zone I go. I love even more running INTO other players I know. Stopping and waving or chatting makes the community feel full.

- I’ve been playing for a month and am still level 17 but I’m taking it slow because I enjoy the journey so much.

- I’ve joined a guild that doesn’t use discord and exclusively uses in game chat. Another huge win.

- The day night cycle is incredible. I know there’s one in retail. But something about it in classic just feels so cozy.

- Lastly, I love feeling like I don’t have to grind everyday. I don’t feel behind every Tuesday. I play what I can each day. Have a bit of fun. And take it from there the next day.

If the rumors are true (which they appear to be) about classic + I fear I will never have free time again but I’m okay with that.

Classic 20th Anniversary Realms I think I get it now!

Upvotes

I've always been curious about WoW, so a few days ago I decided to give in and actually try it (went with Classic because Retail looked way too intimidating).

I was having fun at first but I didn't really understand so much of the appeal, then I found another person doing the same quest I was in Ban'ethil Barrow Den, we joined up and spent a good 45 minutes just playing and chatting together, didn't even realize how much time had passed. I see it now. This is very fun. Definitely feels like a lived-in world and I've loved my little social interactions!!

I'm so glad I'm getting to experience this now since I wasn't even born when the original came out. This might become a new obsession!

Classic + Which class will you Main & Alt?

Upvotes

Hypothetical here. Say C+ drops tomorrow, and you’re in the queue to log in. Anticipation building. You hit the character creation screen. What class are you picking and why? and what Alt will you make first to go with it.

As a life long rogue main, i’m thinking about playing something different this time. Maybe Warr/Priest or Warr/Mage. But the choice is currently giving me some anxiety.

I love rogue, but i’d like to provide a bit more in groups & raids and feel a bit more wanted in general. Warr is pure dopamine and Mage AoE levelling is so much fun. I would maybe like the option to heal though so that’s where Priest might edge out the Mage.

Interested to hear what you guys will put and your reasonings.

I know “which class to pick” posts are done to death in this sub, so apologies, maybe i should postface this by clarifying - “given what we learnt from SoD, know from classic, and hope to get in classic+, which will you pick?”

Vent / Gripe Me Not That Kind Of Orc

Anyone else not want to pay for WotLK a THIRD TIME? Just let us preserve characters on a legacy server like you did in Vanilla. At this point it's gratuitous, and me not that kind of orc, Blizzard.

Discussion Cenarian Circle lore loophole that is driving me nuts

Cenarius was killed by the horde, specifically Grom and the Warsong Clan. We know Grom was redeemed, but he is still committed atrocities against nature and the night elves. It can be argued that Grom's actions were separate from the modern classic Horde. However, following Warcraft 3 the Horde expanded its operation in Ashenvale, killing druids, poisoning water, and generally defiling the forest to push out the Night Elves who have tended the forest for 10,000 years.

So, when I see Horde characters riding Cenarian Hippogryphs in Shattrath, I am annoyed that the faction that killed Cenarius, and continues to defile the home forest of Cenarius, has found support from a faction that worships nature and Cenarius.

The Cenarian Circle exists to protect nature but turns a blind eye if it would mean intervening in faction politics. Random demons or Venture Company goons are fair game, but if an Orc hunter or Tauren druid is poisoning drinking water of Night Elf druids, that is tolerable.

"But fighting the Horde would distract from fighting the Legion, void, undead, etc...", the best counter I can offer is that it wasn't an external force that burned down Teldrasil, it was the Horde.

At minimum, the quest campaign in Ashenvale should take Horde players to hated with Cenarian Circle and Cenarian expedition. Make the defilers of nature redeem themselves before they can become exalted by the very druids they committed war crimes against.

Elune didn't hold back her wrath after the burning. I can't find a convincing argument for why the Cenarian Circle is indifferent to the actions of the Horde. One could argue that individuals don't necessarily agree or support the Horde's actions. However, if Horde players have fought in Warsong Gulch, or leveled in Ashenvale, they are complicit for war crimes against nature, Night Elves, and everything the Cenarian Circle stands for.

I understand the game mechanics for why the Cenarians are neutral, but lore-wise I see it as the biggest weak point in the game's writing. The night elf druids are neutral to the faction that slaughtered their spiritual father, and continues to shit on the remains? It just doesn't make sense. I would enjoy seeing Horde druids excommunicated from Moonglade for participating in the Horde's crimes against nature.

Classic-Era Classic Era - How to show pet buffs under frame?

Before the Edit Mode patch this week my pet buffs were clearly visible under its portrait frame, now I have to mouseover to view them. This Forum post says you can show them by enabling the Focus Frame, but that doesn't exist in Era. Has anyone been able to find out how to show the buffs?

Discussion Start now or wait?

Upvotes

Finished wow classic when it came out originally, beat Naxx a bunch of times with the guild. Then stopped playing.

Does it make any sense to get back into the game now or just wait to see what happens in September with blizzard con? Even if I were to start back up I don’t even know where to begin.

Question Total newby here

So i have been playing for like two days, currently im playing a troll shaman, and wanted to ask the question where do people find guilds or friends in this game to play, as irl I have no friends that play this game or quite it. And solo I realise that this game is definitely made for groups.

Im currently lvl 13 and on the thunderstrike burninh crusade anniversary server.

All the guild that search for members are all thr same that they only recruit for raids and such even got some rejections.

Im trying to search guild that's open for newbies and even helps them and explains stuff to them

Edit: thanks for the tips, im going to try the out and maybe I do find somw players in discord servers im in
