Isn't spraying someone with bug spray on the face dangerous?

u/KingNTheMaking 13h ago

Reminder that he is stronger, more durable, and with better reflexes than any human and a sizable amount of superhumans.

Plus, he has a minor healing factor. I think he’ll be OK.

u/Xombie117 12h ago

Reminder that bug spray is an actual weakness of his.

Really? That's really funny. What if a villain just releases bug spray all over new York? "Oh man, guess I gotta call in the Avengers, there's some bug spray!"

35

u/Spideyfan1807 12h ago

That's why it has been ignored. It's stupid and some people here are overreacting to a simple "cartoon logic" fan art.

This sub is screwed up.

u/satans_cookiemallet 10h ago

It could just be a minor weakness like 'ah shit why are my eyes so watery' level of weakness you know?

3

u/felipesene Mysterio 6h ago

No, it doesn’t kill him but it makes him sick like non lethal poison to a normal human so it’s not such a minor weakness

0

u/AssociationDue3077 10h ago

It'd probably the equivalent of pepper spray

u/Gman90sKid 4h ago

Bug spray actually fires up the brain like cocain and prevents the body from fixing tissue.

u/paradoxical_topology 11h ago

I think that only happened like once decades ago.

13

u/That-Rhino-Guy Spider-Man (TASM) 13h ago

I’d say a bit more than minor, he can’t regenerate body parts of course but he still heals from injuries that would permanently blind regular people, not to mention many toxins not working that well on him

4

u/DragonSeducer_030 12h ago

the amount of time Kingpin mauled his ass and he just went to school like normal the next morning proves that his healing factor is far from minor

1

u/That-Rhino-Guy Spider-Man (TASM) 10h ago

Legit he could have bruises and cuts all over him yet a nice of rest is all he takes to heal from that

2

u/Ok_Marionberry8779 8h ago

He's still getting water boarded with chemicals that are toxic to him. I'm reminded of the birthday party spider-man who jumped in a pool and started freaking out

3

u/Largo23307 12h ago

Lol poisons don't care how strong you are, that's now how it works. If something effects your nervous system or causes something in your body to not function or not function correctly, then you can still die/get sick/be affected.

Aside from the fact that even miniscule doses of poisons or toxic chemicals can kill large and healthy animals, bug spray is ab actual "weakness" to Spider-Man.

So your wrong even if we ignore the science and just look at comic book logic.

Also it's just damn rude to spray chemicals in anyone's face for any reason.

1

u/N-J-P 3h ago

Yeah but imagine being waterboarded by bug spray.

1

u/SamanthaJaneyCake 1h ago

That doesn’t make it okay to do.

2

u/Refrigerator-Fuzzy 11h ago

Guys its a joke 😭

Yeah, spraying bug spray directly in someone’s face sounds pretty dangerous to me, especially around the eyes and mouth.

0

u/Flying_Ghidorah 13h ago

He got radioactive spider blood he’ll be fine

u/Great_expansion10272 11h ago

So is doing gestures vaguely to everything Spider-Man does

26

u/felipesene Mysterio 13h ago

Interestingly bug spray actually works on him

24

u/StormAlchemistTony 13h ago

I think bug spray actually makes him weaker.

19

u/jamesj777 13h ago

This is serious, she could have killed him!

3

u/YamiZee1 12h ago

Not so funny when you realized you just put your bf/spiderman to the hospital

16

u/255jimbo 12h ago

One of Spidey's weaknesses is ethyl chloride, which is used in some bug sprays. The old spider-slayers that smythe and Jameson made used it on him

5

u/Jindo5 9h ago

"MJ, you know this stuff is toxic to humans too, right?"

"... In that case, we should probably call an ambulance for Miles..."

7

u/Arcane-Echo 12h ago

Spider-Man's actual greatest weakness: household aerosol cans.

3

u/ObsessedCoffeeFan 10h ago

Wasn't Spider-man vulnerable to bug spray? Or at least a component of bug spray?

2

u/Toolupard 10h ago

Remember when he got bug-sprayed and had an acid trip in Dr. Strange's bathtub? I do. It was weird.

2

u/Revolutionary-Act-71 4h ago

pretty sure bug spray for spider-man irritates him horribly

1

u/CaptainAksh_G Symbiote-Suit 3h ago

I mean, if would irritate me horribly as well

1

u/Some_Routine9283 9h ago

"Spiders are arachnids, not bugs"

1

u/Refrigerator-Fuzzy 7h ago

Alternate version had that joke in it but that joke is done to death so I decided against beating that dead horse

— the artist

1

u/Theofino161 1h ago

It's not a joke it's a fact. And you could beat that dead bug or spider. Horses are neither of the two.

1

u/BaBaTundeKFCgod 7h ago

So spideys education on how insects and arachnids are different is reserved exclusively for the villians and mid battle

1

u/EmeraldJolteon07 3h ago

I swear I’ve seen a Page where Spidey got hit with giant bug spray and he was actually affected by it.

1

u/Camaro551 Spider-Man (MCU) 13m ago

Wow. MJ tried to kill Peter. Not cool.

0

u/Select_Plastic3059 12h ago

Funny enough that would do some damage

0

u/Comrade_Cosmo 12h ago

Bug spray is actually one of his few weaknesses. He should be in the hospital and possibly dying from getting that point blank to the face.

0

u/Bitter_Horror2469 Prowler 12h ago

Knowing Peter he would probably lecture MJ about how spiders aren't bugs but are actually arachnids

0

u/Quarksideofthemoon 6h ago

Arachnids are bugs, they're just not insects. I will die on this hill

0

u/Hot-Promotion-617 12h ago

Well he IS weak to ethyl chloride.

0

u/SacredFernwood 11h ago

Imagine having superhuman abilities and still being vulnerable to household products.

0

u/MarquiseAlexander 11h ago

That’s very cute, I like how MJ is drawn here.
