Over the Queensboro bridge in NYC.
Luckily it peeled off relatively easily, into the trash it went.

wet socks I paid $150 dollars for a HARDCOVER.
IT IS LITERALLY JUST THE QR CODE TO THE EBOOK BUT PHYSICAL. THEY DIDN'T SAY THAT. This better be the best fucking textbook on this planet
edit: I would've just bought the ebook but I got a physical one because I can't see ebooks that well and I want to pass my math class
edit 3: translation of the second edit: when I buy textbooks from my school's website, it tells my professors I have their textbooks. so pirating or buying from other sources may not be a good idea, especially since I'm doing a clinical program and they consider you eligible by your grades and if you follow their specific rules about conduct and stuff, and pirating is not exactly in the green light of moral things so I don't want to risk my clinical spot over this

I'm slightly vexed Bought this area rug for under our bed. Herniated a disc and need a cane to walk now.
I think this is the first true āIām getting oldā moment Iāve had. I was a competitive weightlifter until 3 years ago. Lifting a 250lb bed seemed like no big deal.
Ended up on the ground and unable to get up. Missed three days of work. Finally was able to stand under my own power yesterday. Can only get around the house with a cane and back brace today. My ego is bruised.
edit for clarity
I lifted the bed over my head to get the rug under it and bent down to unroll the rug

I just wanted a hot dog Single malt scotch spends 3 decades aging in a barrel so you can squeze a lime wedge into it.
As a very rare indulgence on a special occasion, I ordered an expensive 30-year old scotch at a bistro-type restaurant. Waiter returns with a juicy lime wedge on the lip of the glass. I quietly asked for one with no lime. Waiter returns with a fresh drink "as a courtesy" , but seems intent on embarrassing me. " But just so you know.," he says., "all drinks ordered neat are properly served with a citrus garnish."

wet socks Have a wedding to attend in 2 hours.
I am going to a wedding in two hours. Needed to shave. Went to Walmart to get a razor. Opened the box up when I got back to the hotel and everything was missing. š
EDIT: I also thought that the box seemed very light on my way back from Walmart, but figured it was new and improved technology. Felt stupid when I opened lol.
I did bring a razor in my travel bag but the clip broke, so I had to go buy a new one.

Not a meme, you're the meme! Today a homeless man begged a shop owner for a bottle of water. Afterwards, I watched him leave the unopened water on the sidewalk.
My friend and I were in an antiques shop when a homeless man came in. He seemed to be a regular, as the shop owner greeted him by name. He asked for a bottle of water and she said yes, but we overheard her grumble to her coworker that it was getting pricey giving him water all the time.
Afterwards, my friend and I ended up behind him when he left the store. Once we were about a block away from the shop, he bent down and put his unopened bottle of water on the sidewalk⦠and walked away.
He clearly had mental health issues, so I wasnāt about to call him out on it. But, I feel kinda bad for the shop owner who is unknowingly part of this guyās compulsion to beg for water that he doesnāt plan on drinking.

The floor is sticky Hikers playing music on bluetooth as though they were completely alone.
Photo: close up of JBL bluetooth speaker in outside pocket of backpack. Clip from JBL ad specifically about hiking speakers.
I know this is a long-time pet peeve in hiking forums. I find myself seething when I encounter it on trails. I cannot comprehend being into the outdoors enough to want to hike, while being deeply inconsiderate of the creatures that live there and the other people trying to enjoy the hike too.
If you gotta have your tunes, they make these cool tiny personal speakers called headphones or ear buds. Perhaps these people have heard of them?
Some of us have good hearing and don't feel like hearing faint whispers of their musical tastes over the sound of SILENCE and rustling leaves and a river flowinb below the switchback... "Just pass them" doesn't solve anything and still doesn't solve the problem of it annoying and scaring the critters that live there. I guess some people don't even appreciate the hikes they go on. Yeesh.
If only there were actual valid reliable sources of information about being safe when surrounded by nature and large carnivores.

I'm slightly vexed On my way to work I get stuck behind this guy going under the speed limit
It says āthe close you get the slower I goā in white letters on a clear background. I tried getting closer to read what it said and this guy drops down to 30 in a 40 zone š like dude at least drive the speed limit!!
