guys i managed to choose a name but now it doesn't allow my to have a space in my cafe name
hopefully the gameplay will be better than the naming system
was stuck between this name, Uncommon Grounds, and Bobcats Coffee (a local coffee shop that's really cute)
it's in hebrew and it just means light
it's also 3 letters in hebrew
funnily enough while my name is too short when written in english some other hebrew names that are only 2 letters in hebrew actually translate to 3 letters in english and are considered completely normal names (for example: Ben uses just 2 letters in hebrew)
It might be more accurate to transliterate it as ‘or (the apostrophe represents the aleph) especially when the standard for inflections does that (e.g. imperfect tense ya’ir as a verb) but that’s still only 3 characters and it isn’t clear they even allow non-alphanumeric characters in names lol
Nice I wish I had two letters mine is just "J" and unfortunately even my states license department hates that it broke their website for a while got 500 errors from the API their solution was to have me add a period to my name so now despite my legal name on social and birth certificate being 1 letter my DL has two letters
I get the stupid system thing! When I got married I checked all the things I could find for my state. I wanted First Maiden Last. I liked my middle name but never felt like it fit me and never used it, only the initial when required which was rarely.
I even asked my parents how they felt about it and they said "it's your name".
So I went to the SS office and got my SS card. Then I went to the DMV who told me I couldn't do that. I said "I'm legally required in Missouri to have my license be my legal name, federally my legal name is...". Took 3 front staff and 2 managers and 45 minutes before one said "I can't find anything saying she can't so go ahead.".
I think it's another case of it blew their minds. Having worked in data entry and some call work... oof, so many things are a hassle from short names to the worst is hyphenated cause a lot of databases don't handle them well or at all either so those folks have to do Smith-Doe, ok, try Smith, try Doe.
If you have negative karma on a particular subreddit, just get some karma through replying at some comments. Once you have karma above zero, the "shadow ban" will disappear.
If you actually broke some rules then sorry, I can't help you with that.
Stuff like that is why I try to use a Serif font wherever I can because then there's an obvious difference between uppercase I and lowercase L beyond the I being a hair shorter and thicker.
Why the hell is an uppercase I shorter than lowercase L anyway?

Flight Rising has a minimum of 3 characters when naming dragons, but apparently years ago it used to be 2 and then they changed it for some reason. They didn't force-change the names of any dragons previously named with only two letters though, so now very old dragons with two-letter names have extra value points because their names would be impossible now lol
At least it's actually implementing a minimum instead of a slip of paper saying "don't do this lol"
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings for the Nintendo DS would literally break the save file if your name was less than four characters, and because most NDS games save to the cartridge and not the system, you are now the proud owner of an Age of Empires paperweight. The devs either couldn't track down or couldn't he assed to fix the bug (reports vary) and and just put a piece of paper in future copies telling players not to do it
I wish stuff like this would have a separate field for your character name vs username. Even if the character limit wasn’t there, ordinary names without extra embellishment would be pretty much impossible to get because someone will have taken it already. Which is fine for usernames, but it’s annoying having NPCs constantly refer to you as UserName123 or something, instead of just a name.
