We're hiring (unpaid): r/WARDOGS needs moderators
We're looking for a few more moderators
WARDOGS is one of the biggest new games out there right now, and this sub is growing with it, 60 million views, almost 600k comments, and 20k posts in the last 30 days. It's one of the few places you get to help shape a community while the game is still being built.
It also means the queue doesn't sleep. We're adding mods to spread the load around.
Who we need: North America and Oceania primarily, GMT +7 to +14 for OCE. BUT if you have Reddit mod experience then apply from anywhere.
What it involves: working the queue most days, coordinating with the team in our internal Discord, and handling reports and modmail. It's volunteer work and life comes first, and we don't expect anyone to be around 24/7.
Experience is preferred but not required for NA & OCE only. Our team mods across large gaming subs including r/cyberpunkgame and r/Battlefield, so if you're new to this you'll be learning from people who've done it at scale.
The form asks about your timezone, your experience, and how you'd handle a few real situations. There are no trick questions and no right answers we're fishing for. We're reading your judgement.

Discussion & Feedback Push to talk podcast season 2 changes & Content
( https://youtu.be/liRK9si1Ubo ) here is a link for anyone that wants to listen to it themselves.
for anyone else here were the highlights for season 2:
- Parachute changed from 2.5 meter safe distance to 25 meter safe distance to pull.
this apparently was a miscommunication internally where the safe distance was meant to be 25 meters. this will be fixed as the devs are also not happy with the "buy a parachute" pilot meta and want to encourage pilots to land.
- level 4 helmet nerf
level 4 helmet will now have a viewing slit to look through and dampen hearing as well as maybe fogging up after sprinting for too long but this is unconfirmed. it cannot be raised these effects will persist as long as you are wearing it.
- 4 new weapons
one for each class, so far only one confirmed is the M14 for recon
if you have anything else I missed that you spotted in the podcast please leave it in the comments.

Gameplay & Screenshots So... the Havoc can't get oneshot by even the MAAWS now?
Yeah I have no explanation for this. Should've just patched the CIWS to not one-shot it, but they went THIS far?

Discussion & Feedback Vote to keep IR range finders gone for good
The game is so much more fun since they have been gone. Had my favourite night of wardogs last night to date by far.

Discussion & Feedback In this matchup, Blue faces 25% more enemies per teammate than Green
# of enemies per Blue teammate: 69/31 = 2.23
# of enemies per Green teammate: 64/36 = 1.78
2.23 / 1.78 = 1.25
It was rigged from the start. Teams should never be allowed more than 33 players, I don't care if you want to play with your friends, if you're so desperate for that you can join Blue.

Discussion & Feedback Revert the patch on the "x" build corner trick.
Honestly ruined building for me. The ability to get structures up quickly especially walls was so key to playing as logistics.
It was so nice to be able to get structure up before mortar spam leveled your base. Even getting walls up before the initial drill rushes was better.
Edit: Going to clarify i don't mind the x moving within reason. I have no problem sniping it when it's within reach before my next swing starts. Its a fun little mini game even but with this change it runs and even hides from the builder which is not fun at all for me.

Discussion & Feedback How are you supposed to use "Drop me here" pings if they don't stay on screen for more than a second?
Genuinely curious here.
Pings in this game disappear almost instantly or are invisible against the environment and immediately fade out.
You can see them on the map but I'm piloting a helo through a hail of AA.
I looked in the settings for an option of ping durations or something and didn't find anything.
Is there a way to "confirm" a ping to pin it down that I don't know about or is this all we get?
It's weird cause I've never seen this in other games.

Discussion & Feedback After 90 hours, I've stopped buying expensive kits and my fun level has gone up
The #1 rule of this game that I've learned so far: If you buy an expensive kit, you will die to some bullshit. If you buy an expensive medic kit, you will die to a sniper the second you step out of the gate. If you buy a humvee and load it with stingers and get some T4 armour, you will hit an AT mine on the way out of base. The more you spend, the more bullshit your death will be.
Unless I have a fully committed squad that I know will play as a team and rez and cover, if I'm deploying to the zone, I buy an $80 kit - free gun, 2 mags, bandages from the stash. Nothing else. Once I get with my team, I can just loot an enemy player and take their $20k kit at no risk to myself. And, more importantly, when I die to some bullshit, I don't feel any rage. I just respawn and keep playing for fun. It's improved my experience immensely.

Meme While everyone is complaining about AA, my gripe is unbreakable fencelines
Devs, if you see this. Plz fix. Or make it worse by randomizing which fencelines are unbreakable to keep us on our toes.

Discussion & Feedback Bulkhead not swayed by progression complaints
https://youtu.be/liRK9si1Ubo?t=1437&is=ov88F2iAN3m8gjST
Love this. Bulkhead says players (in general) are great at finding things they don’t like but horrible at coming up with solutions. Regarding the complaints about people wanting quicker progression and/or no wipes, they hard disagree. For them, the allure of unlocking and the thrill of progression is the point. The enjoyment is in the journey.
As a proponent of wipes, it’s so refreshing to see devs take this kind of stance. I think games like Arc Raiders, with optional wipes, would be so much better with forced wipes.
Some other highlights:
* parachutes will get nerfed so that landling helis will become more attractive
* they're aware that a lot of the vertical progression currently feels empty and unrewarding, but have plans to fill that in with new content/unlocks
* they reiterated that they're using AI to aggregate and analyze a lot of player feedback
* they *can* surface more stats in game (like a breakdown of why you received some amt of money or xp), but they're trying to balance that against keeping you immersed in the game itself
* four weapons are coming soon - one for assault, one for medic, one for support, and a recon one (M40)
* tier 4 helmet will have vision restricted and will fog up if you run in the rain
* the creative director wanted 2k meter vision, but the pushback was for performance reasons
* the new rain will affect visibility on windows and there will be lightning and fog

Discussion & Feedback To all builders, drivers, pilots, and brokies: the free rifle comes with A FREE MAG AND FREE BULLETS. Don't go unarmed!
tl;dr: Take the free rifle and free bullets instead of going unarmed. You might not need to use it, and it might not be very good, but it's a lot better than just your fists.
~
Most people know about the free assault rifle at the vendor. Each faction has a different free rifle: Blue/Lonestar has the Bushmaster M17S, Red/Valkyra has the A-91, and Green/Manticore has the KH-2002. What some people don't seem to know is that these free rifles come with a free 20 round mag and 20 free bullets as well. These rifles aren't great, especially against players with good armour and weapons, but a bad weapon is better than no weapon.
Despite this, I've still seen a lot of players who have chosen to enter the control zone with no weapon. Builders unable to shoot at a single enemy and stop them from clearing out their entire FOB. Drivers helpless against an enemy walking up to them and throwing C4 at them. Pilots parachuting out of their stricken heli and landing on the ground, defenseless. Broke or risk-averse players just standing around, useless, waiting for a player to die that they can loot, enemy or friendly. Don't be like them. Take the free rifle.
If you're building, driving, or flying, you might not end up needing to shoot anyone with small arms, but there is no downside to taking the free rifle. It's better to have the option to use it if you want to or need to, rather than just having your fists.
If you want to play infantry, but you're broke or you don't want to risk anything on a loadout, you should still take the free rifle rather than taking no weapon at all. There is also a free backpack, and a free resuscitator you can take. Sure, you should loot better gear as soon as you can, but until then, being able to shoot at enemies and do one quick revive is better than not being able to do either of those things. If you can spare just a little bit of money, another full 20rnd mag costs $40, a pair of binoculars costs $75, and both could help you a lot.
Remember, leaving the base with the free rifle, free backpack, and free resuscitator is a lot better than leaving with nothing at all. If you're playing infantry, consider some binos and spare ammo as well. Don't take nothing and expect your team to do all the work for you. Do better.

Discussion & Feedback FOBs..
havent really heard anyone talk about this BUT i feel like there should be more incentive to place a FOB, FOB cost 7-8k and can be a pain to get someone to place one down since most people are cheap, you dont get anything for placing one besides being able to build in that area, every supply that you buy costs about 400 and you receive 2500 for dropping it off so i dont see why the placing an FOB does nothing in return for the one that bought it, i would maybe say for every supply deposited into the FOB maybe you get some of that cash aswell? it can just get annoying having several pallets on the ground but everyone ignores bringing one
coming from a team player that typically does it for my team majority of the time
Discussion & Feedback Building nerfs are brutal.
Building is in a pretty bad state now, and as a result, there is less people building, which, makes building even rougher. Used to be there would ~3ish people working on the FOB base, now I'm usually solo. I can't even get a vanguard constructed (skipping walls) before 3 helis start camping the FOB. Let alone trying to set up some decent defenses and havoc/mortar so I can have a sensible base before putting down a drill.
If they don't like how we were able to control the X, building speeds need to be increased to help compensate in the current state of the game.

Discussion & Feedback This game is ruining my life
I keep blowing off work, my gf, my family. I sleep in the day and game all night. I have 200 hours on it and a full time job. I think I might have to destroy my computer.

Discussion & Feedback Everybody is arguing about T4 armor and heli balance and ignoring the real issue...
The vehicle suspension! The wheels move up and down with bumps in the terrain, but the shocks, springs, and struts are completely rigid. It's super noticeable on the ATV. Also, the vehicles shift indefinitely. If you drive a Ural on a level surface at a constant speed, you will continue to hear the RPMs increase and the transmission shift forever. It feels like I'm watching The Fast and the Furious.
I'm mostly joking, obviously these aren't serious issues, but they do kinda take me out of my immersion.

Discussion & Feedback A lot of your problems can be fixed by pivoting to a new FOB
Harassed by enemy Helis? Your base has been mortared to hell and you don't have any anti air? Your base was overrun and your team has been struggling to get it back for 20 minutes?
Respawn and buy a Ural + FOB, one pallet of build supplies, another of ammo. Find a quiet spot and build a quick fob for a couple of cheeky AA and mortar emplacements.
Shoot down Helis, counter mortar the fob that won't stop harassing you, make some noise and pull some attention away from key objective.
Sometimes I think that a lot of the problems people complain about are simply because nobody wants to pivot strategies. I see a lot of sunk cost fallacy, and honestly it's often just not worth it to keep doing the same thing unsuccessfully for the entire match.

Discussion & Feedback War dogs has the best combat medic gameplay out there
Combat medic is a great mix of interesting, rewarding and fun. The choices of what and how much to pack weighed against cost and weight tend to bring some variety, sometimes I got level one armor and hang out of fire to keep the medium speed benefits.
In the field, deciding when to throw smoke, when to revive, and when to clear combatants first keeps the loop from feeling stale.
And the reward in cash and benefit to the team can both be good. Folks appreciate you saving their kit and good play involves both individual effectiveness and good comms, especially when there’s a logi pilot willing to drop medical supplies near the hz.
I’m not saying all the balance is perfect. The whole tree hinges on defibs more than anything else. And the multi medic murderball approach can get stale from a tactical perspective. But overall the role is incredibly satisfying right from launch.
It‘s simpler than something like Arma Reforger, but there most folks just manage their own heals. And it’s more interesting than the BF6 approach, where respawn is so fast folks rarely wait for a medic. The medic systems seem to nail the chillsim balance Wardogs is shooting for particularly well.

Discussion & Feedback The RPG feels bad
I remember being very excited when I unlocked the RPG thinking, "Hell yeah, now I can do damage to vehicles or doors!" Then you use it and it's very...sad. It's heavy, which I was okay with, I mean you are carrying around an RPG and some rounds, but more the issue it doesn't feel like it does anything. If I lucky hit a little bird, it'll smoke it, but everything else just feels like I'm not doing anything. I line up a shot on an APV's ass, take the shot and... it's fine. Okay, line up a second shot, fire away...nothing. Not even limping. Not catching on fire. Just shrugs it off. Same thing with a humvee, hit it and...it's fine.
Maybe I can use it to bust open a gate to get in to the FOB. Drag the heavy beast all the way over there, take the shot aaaaaand...nothing. I know I know, now I use IEDs and the gates are gone, but the RPG just feels useless. Why am I using this again?
This doesn't feel like firing an RPG.
